Texoma's Lakeside Motel & RV Park, Kingston, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Rate based on weekly rate. Good electric, water and sewer. Asphalt level pads. Most sites and Park drain well after rains. Small RV Park is in between the motel and rental cabins. Good Verizon and AT&T signal. Fair T-Mobil signal. Very convenient to Lake Texoma and Kingston. Gas Station/Convenience store right next door. Several permanent residents. Great owners. Well maintained. Cons- No shade. Some highway noise. Just a quiet, safe - no drama kinda place. There is a goat in residence behind the rental cabins in a fenced field for recycling your vegetable scraps. We camped at Texoma's Lakeside Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Route 66 RV Ranch (formerly Sundown RV Resort), Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Utilities were OK. BUT outlets are installed UPSIDE DOWN. Park was kind of "tight". Because the people to our left had two vehicles we could not make the swing to pull out and had to pull forward through an empty site. A little creepy, but not overly so. Right off I-40. Our site had a view looking westbound.

We stayed here for a provisioning run.

Would be OK for another short stay. But I think I might try another one of the RV parks right in the area. All about the same price. At $36, it was OK but unremarkable. We camped at Route 66 RV Ranch (formerly Sundown RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

Walnut RV Park, Vega, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This was for the daily rate. A VERY nice park right on Historic Route 66 just off I-40. Spacious reasonable sites are well kept. WiFi, electric, water, and sewer all first class. Huge laundry room. Very secure park as friendly owners are are onsite. Roosters TexMex restaurant right across the street (Historic US 66) and is rated 4.5+ out of 5.

We stayed a night. Then another. Then a week and will be going back for a month. 30 miles to Amarillo or NM border. No pool but for those people who spend a lot of time in RV parks, this is the kind of place that just "feels right". We camped at Walnut RV Park in a Motorhome.

Waylon Jennings RV Park, Littlefield, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

City run Park in the hometown of Waylon Jennings. About 15 spaces. No sewer. Only a few appear to have electric. Some of the water faucets are broken. Dirt sites with some grass. Cement picnic tables under little covered "pavilions" Low hanging tree branches. But trees offered SHADE to some sites. Yay!

When we pulled in about 11:00 am we were the only RV there. That gave us a chance to pick a site with SHADE, no low hanging branches, water and electric. I have to admit, it was a little "creepy" being there alone until other RV's showed up later in the day. Get there early.

What a nice Texas gesture to have a RV Park like this. Leave a nice donation because this kind of hospitality is what makes the world go round. God bless Texas, Littlefield and the memory of Waylon Jennings for their generosity! We camped at Waylon Jennings RV Park in a Motorhome.
