Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island KOA, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Nice well maintained park. The park is very well situaited for seeing the sights of the Mackinaw area. A number of sites large enough for big rigs, and access to the sites is generally good. Sites are a bit tight (not a lot of space between the sites), but have room for slides and awnings. Owner and staff was courteous and helpful. The park has a short nature trail to a 1.5 mile walking/bike trail that will take you into the center of the Mackinaw City tourist area. Great way to see the city and not have to worry about finding a place to park. We camped at Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Sault Ste.Marie KOA, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

A first rate RV Park! Big Rig friendly. The owner/opperator greeted us upon our arrival and escorted us to our site.

We were upgraded to a new premium site when the owner determined that the site we reserved would have been difficult for us to park our 40 ft fifth wheel and full size tow truck. The park is clean and well laid out, with the activity areas (pool, mini-golf, dog agility areas) to the front of the park. The site we were in was at the back of the park, near the attractive well maintained cabins. We enjoyed sitting out around our campfire and grilling on the full size gas grill which is provided as a part of the premium site. The owner continued his great customer service even after we had left the park. I left something behind when we left the campground. He worked with me to have it shipped to another campground we were schedule to get to a few weeks later. Rate shown on this review is an approximation based on a blended rate and approximate Dollar exchange rate. We camped at Sault Ste.Marie KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Salem Village Mobile Home Park, Salem, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Clean, quiet, affordable and well located for visiting Roanoke and Salem Va. This facility is not a 'destination park'. There are no playgrounds or bathhouses. What you get s a clean, quiet pad sight, (most are level). The park is well maintained, and consists primarily of mobile homes and long term RV residents. RV parking is primarily to the back of the park, along a creek. Note that the creek does occasionally overflow its banks, and if staying in the park in times of extended heavy rain, you will want to keep an eye out for flood warnings and be ready to move you unit to higher ground if warranted.

A few of the RV sites can be a bit tricky to get into, especially for a towable, due to carports and mail boxes placed very near the curb.

Good over the air television and Verizon cell signal. Minimal onsite management presence during our stay. Site had 2 18-24 inch wide concrete strips to park on which were long enough for us to park our 40 ft. We camped at Salem Village Mobile Home Park in a Fifth Wheel.
