Bastrop State Park, Bastrop, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed in Full hook up section, all pull through sites. Some sites will take a bit of work to get the rig level, could be a challenge for some larger rigs. Overall, we like the area and price. Firewood for sale $.50 a log with free kindling was fair. Enjoyed visiting downtown Bastrop and going to La Grange for the Trail of Lights. Restrooms were about the cleanest we've ever seen at any campground/resort. We will return. We camped at Bastrop State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Houston East RV Resort, Baytown, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Have stayed here several times while passing through the area. Easy on/off of I-10. Some highway noise as you would expect. Nice sites with good hookups. Nice pool. Some semi-permanent residents, but they keep the 1-nighters in the pull-throughs in the front. Staff is very helpful and friendly. We will return. We camped at Houston East RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Jones Station RV Park, Mebane, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped for one night. A few miles off the interstate. Plenty of stores/gas etc off the exit. Campground looked very nice even when we arrived despite the rain.

Site was level, hook ups were good.

We would return. We camped at Jones Station RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stone Mountain Park Campground, Stone Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed a few nights. Great location. The campground needs some work. Interior roads and sites are in need of repair. The highly desired F loop is a safe bet, other loops could be a challenge for larger RVs, low ground clearance, tight turns, leveling in the site etc. We would return for the location itself. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Sleepy Hollow RV Park, Laurel, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

I have used this RV park a couple of times over the year as a 1-night stop over. A couple of miles off I-59, little to no highway noise in the upper section. Owners are super friendly, making reservations is easy. We have stayed in the upper section with Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi was good. Only issue is ants, especially in site #8. Need to spray EVERYTHING (power/sewer/tires/stabilizers) that touches the ground. We missed a spot and had them everywhere to include the tow vehicle. We camped at Sleepy Hollow RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Fort Belvoir Travel Camp (Military FamCamp), Fort Belvoir, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for about a month. Good spacing between sites, but relatively no shade on any of the sites. Hookups were a little different, water/electric/cable towards the very front of the site, sewer at the back. A bit of a challenge if your electric is in the back etc. Sites are not as level as you would hope for in a newer RV park. The challenge was not just side to side, but front to back too. Some semi-permanent residents that "shuffle" from site to site, but still a nice place. We camped at Fort Belvoir Travel Camp (Military FamCamp) in a Travel Trailer.

Jamaica Beach RV Park, Galveston, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Great park and will return. Definitely a family friendly resort. A lot of activities for the kids. The inflatable water slides were a hit with the kids and adults. 2 pools never felt crowded. They even had a movie every night. The access road to the beach is also very close, less than a 5 min drive from site to beach. It is within walking distance, but you have to cross the main 2 lane highway. Evenings were quiet. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Sites were average size. Interior roads felt narrow, but no real issues getting into or out of our pull thru. Looking forward to returning and seeing this parks planned growth. We camped at Jamaica Beach RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The location is not bad, about ten miles away from Galveston activities, but found the drive easy/no traffic. There were 2 small grocery stores within in 1 mile of the resort that had most of the essentials.

Gulf Waters RV Resort, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Overall, great sites with plenty of room, descent shade, concrete, level etc. The worst site in this park is better than any other site at any other park in the area. Ours had decent shade and a outside bar with sink and plenty of outlets. We have visited Port A several times. This was our first stay here and we will definitely return in the future. Staff was very friendly, check-in was quick and easy, and then we were escorted to our site. Backing in was fairly easy with our 35' TT. We enjoyed the quiet evenings, and the resort has a very effective mosquito control program that made sitting outside in the evenings very nice. We stayed in the area a month ago (different place) and the mosquitoes were brutal all day. The pool is OK, in need of minor repairs and freshening up, relatively small for this size park. The 1-hr "adult swim"(5p-6p) is what it is. We have kids, so we were not a fan of the times. Overall layout of the park is OK. One location to get rid of your trash, all the way in the front of the park. The pool is also at the front. So much potential for this resort if they added another pool, (or improved the one they have), and added a few alternate dumpsters locations to get rid of trash, or picked up your trash at the site. Walk to the beach was less than .25 mile from the 500s section. We camped at Gulf Waters RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Check with restaurants for hours especially if you want to go out on a non-weekend. We ate at the Seafood & Spaghetti Works. Great variety. For a family of 5 we just had pizza, and were happy with the price ($35). We could have easily spent $150+.

Pioneer Beach Resort, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here several times. Sites are tight, no shade, but level and concrete. The premium sites offer the best location with close proximity to both the pool and the walk way to the beach. A lot of activity in the evenings, golf carts, and social gatherings of the "regulars." During our stay the mosquitoes were brutal, all day long. We got some relief while in the pool and of course on the beach. Staff is friendly and very helpful as we had to change our arrival dates several times leading up to our trip. Still got a site close to the pool as we requested. Number of pools and locations serve this park well. Trash pickup at your site is a nice bonus. Pay attention to the price and additional fees for more than two people and cable, etc., as they add up quickly. We will return. We camped at Pioneer Beach Resort in a Travel Trailer.
