Diamond Lake RV Park, Diamond Lake, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

If you want to get away from it all - this is the place. No WiFi, no cable, and very little cell service. Sometimes, you can make and receive calls. Having said that, this place is like a NFS campground. It has that feel ...with full hookups. They really help guide you into your site - very helpful. The campground has that great smell of pines. Be prepared for mosquitoes - many of them. If you want to fish Diamond Lake, your best bet is to rent a boat. And, don't bother trying to fish Lemolo lake. Ugly and full of algae I believe. The big attraction is Crater Lake NP. Don't miss it. There is one gas station near the Diamond Lake resort, and one at Crater Lake...both very pricey. Be prepared. We camped at Diamond Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Netarts Bay Garden RV Resort, Tillamook, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We had one of the four spots looking out at the bay. Very nice, however, they had installed two raised "U" shaped bars near the front of the space. We had to be very careful to avoid running over them. I believe they were placed there to strap down a rig during very high winds. Right next to our spot was the office which was in the process of being completely remodeled inside and out. Lots of construction noise and dust. We complained one day because there was constant grinding for about 4 hours in the morning. The park refunded our fee for that day which was nice. There was very nice grass surrounding our space. Laundry prices were quite reasonable. The WiFi was fine, probably because we were at the front of the park. The office folks were very very nice and helpful. They helped us with our first experience with clamming. They sell licenses right there. Their boat rentals are pricey...$95 for 3 hours. Bottom line is ...We would stay here again. WARNING - if you drive a big rig and are coming from the south...do NOT take any shortcut (sandlake, cape lookout, whiskey creek, netarts bay roads);. there are low hanging branches and you will have an issue. Our front A/C shroud was knocked off the roof. Take 101 into Tillamook then 131 to the park. We camped at Netarts Bay Garden RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Packwood RV Park and Campground, Packwood, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We wanted a pull thru. The fellow at the office (a temp) didn't really understand the park. He assigned #10 which required us to drive between two tall trees that were real close together - too close for comfort with a big rig. We elected to back-in to #8. The site required leveling. Hook-ups were fine. The WiFi was excellent. In the early morning, if you ventured outside, there might be many elk meandering in the park. Go see Mt Rainier nearby. Many fishing places nearby as well. Negative - when I climbed on the roof to check for debris, I noted three power/telephone lines about 1 foot above the roof. I didn't care for that. Plan for some mosquitos. Having said all this, we would stay here again. We camped at Packwood RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Forks 101 RV Park, Forks, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park was purchased in 2017. The new owner is a very nice person, but has a learning curve on how to run a RV park. Two of her employees left her in May with little warning. We parked in a gravel back-up because it was closer to the WiFi. Leveling was required. Despite our location, the WiFi was very poor (virtually useless). And no cable. The bathrooms could be improved. Having said all this, we would still come back to this park. I believe the new owner will improve things over time. We camped at Forks 101 RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp Kalama, Kalama, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

After checking in, we were given this route: north drive, right turn to east drive, left turn on main street, right turn into pull thru. There was a huge problem with the turn onto main street. It was a tight turn, there were 3 vehicles in front of trailers on main street at the turning point, there was a large bush and a utility post to the left and a large tree to the right. In trying to swing wide right, I was caught up in tree limbs. I called the office to advise I couldn't make that turn. She replied in a condescending manner, "others have made that turn". Fortunately a great employee there, Phyllis, showed up. She immediately saw the problem and took action to cut the tree limbs out of the way. She recognized the problem with the turn and suggested we take another route to our site...which we did. The site was grass and required leveling. There were no sewer hookups because of proximity to river. We figured no problem staying contained for three days. When we used the showers, we discovered they charged paying guests (like us) a dollar for five minutes. And they also charged a dollar a day for our very small dog. Also, no WiFi at our site. Laundry was 2 bucks a load each for both the washer and dryer. There were tent sites across the road from our site. There were two trash barrels near the tent site. Both were overflowing with trash! When we were pulling out, we discovered our landing gear was dragging because the site was a couple inches below the road level. We had to raise the wheels to get out. Needless to say, we won't be staying here again. We don't care to be nickled and dimed. We camped at Camp Kalama in a Fifth Wheel.

Heceta Beach RV Park, Florence, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is an unusual park in that the spaces are separated by tall hedges, about 8 ft high. It certainly provides privacy...but it's different. The pad is all gravel, mostly level. Hookups were fine. The folks at the office provided much info about the local area. Our big issue here was on the departure. In order to take a turn within the park I couldn't swing real wide because a truck was extended into a portion of the road. I got hung up in a tree trunk on the right side. You couldn't see the trunk (which extended on an angle from the lower trunk) because of other branches. The trunk ripped my rubber roof. The owner helped me get free - it took awhile. But he would not cut the tree. I felt he should have been more proactive in that regard. Any park that expects big rigs should be certain that all turns are absolutely clear. We camped at Heceta Beach RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Indian Creek Recreation Park, Gold Beach, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great park. Very nice, lots of grass. Very good WiFi. Asphalt pad - level. Very helpful owners with good info and assistance. We went fishing one day with a guide and were gone about 8 hours. The owner took our dog out for a walk while we were gone. You can't beat that type of service. There is a great cafe at the front of the property - for breakfast or lunch...usually busy. Lots to do in the area. Good supermarket nearby. We would definitely stay here again. Overall Rating:

We stayed here about 6 years ago under prior owners. New owners have upgraded this place nicely. Asphalt pad with very nice grass islands. great hookups with tow water faucets at each site. Easy to navigate with a big rig. We would DEFINITELY stay here again. RV park is not visible from HWY 99. You must go thru strip mall at the Subway restaurant. Sommerville Almond Tree RV Park, Coalinga, California

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We pull a 40 ft fifth wheel. This is a place for a one night stopover. We stopped twice in a 30 day period. The pads are gravel and mostly level. Hookups are fine with two water outlets. The islands between RV sites are dry dirt with some weeds and NUMEROUS gopher/ground squirrel holes. Very unappealing! This place could be so much nicer if it had some grass on the islands...or just filled it in with pea gravel. We would use it again but definitely not for more than a stopover. Paradise Shores RV Park, Bridgeport, California

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this park many different times; usually in May and October. I have been there once in July....many bugs...not so in May and October. The owners are very nice folks and will do whatever they can to offer assistance if you require it. They usually make improvements to their park every year. Although fire pits at the sites are not provided, you can use your portable pit to enjoy a fire. The owners are willing to work with you if you must make a late cancellation. Their WiFi is OUTSTANDING! They have a fish cleaning station within the park. We will always stay here when coming to the Bridgeport area. The only negative is that they do not offer cable TV. That is not a show stopper in our opinion. We camped at Paradise Shores RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Typical KOA. We were forced to stay here because of a mechanical breakdown. As always, KOA is very pricey. The park was fine. The folks working here were very friendly and helpful. Kudos to the gentleman who worked with us because he knew we had a problem with our tow vehicle. Had to walk a bit to have my dog reach the grassy area, but not too far. Leadville RV Corral, Leadville, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a no frills park. Gravel sites and not always level. No cable TV. WiFi spotty. Sites are close together. However, it was easy to get in and out. Your first look does not leave a good impression. I probably would not stay here for a week; but for three nights it was fine. It's not great for socializing. I never did see the owner/manager, but he has folks in the park help him out. They were very friendly. We were right across the street from a bar. We thought it might be noisy...no issue. We have previously stayed in Sugar Loafin RV park nearby. Between the two, we would rather stay here at the Corral. We camped at Leadville RV Corral in a Fifth Wheel.

Lazy Acres Campground & Motel, Riverside, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We had a nice site, close to the river. Lots of trees and grass. I believe we had only 30 amp but that was fine because we did not use the A/C. WiFi was good. Cell service is very good. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They guided us into our site. There was an issue with one tree limb; the owner took care of it. He brought us a fire ring at our request. We did not have a sewer hookup because I had not reserved early enough. It worked out OK. The owner will provide you a portable tank to dump if you need it. We had a flat tire on our rig. The owner helped us take that off, and put on the spare. He drove me to a garage to get the flat repaired; then he took me back to the park. Trash disposal is very handy. Needless to say, we would definitely stay here again. The one caveat is mosquitoes. They are quite prevalent between late June and late August - just an FYI. No real grocery stores nearby. I recommend you arrive well stocked with what you need. We camped at Lazy Acres Campground & Motel in a Fifth Wheel.

Greys River Cove RV Park, Alpine, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We used this park as a base to tour the Grand Tetons. Sites were very compact, with a gravel base and not level. There was a strip of grass along the fence line about 40 feet behind our rig. That worked for our small dog. No cable TV; the WiFi was fair at best. The trash dumpster (only one) was a good walk away. Although it rained for almost 36 hours straight while we were there, the sites did not flood - that was a good thing. We thought it pricey for what we received. I'm sure it has to do with proximity to Jackson Hole and the Tetons. Not sure if we would stay here again. We camped at Greys River Cove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
