Flintlock Campground, Boone, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

As others have said, tricky navigating on or off the highway. An added obstacle is the "speed bump" just at the entrance, which may easily re-arrange your refer and/or your clothes closet. It's a nice old park with many sites along a brook, but only a handful of the bigger rigs can get next to it. Our space (#90) the fire ring was under our camper so it was unusable and we had about 2' behind us and our nose was hanging a bit out in the roadway. It's only a 36' motorhome. We had to squeeze our toad into the space between our motorhome and the camper next to us, which fortunately was not occupied the three days we stayed there. We might stay there again. We camped at Flintlock Campground in a Motorhome.

Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground, Asheville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very difficult to find anyone in the office and always had to leave a message to be called back. A bit tricky pulling into the campgrounds and assigned site. Take exit 47 off I-40 no matter what your GPS says. We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Spring Hill Mobile Home Park, Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very secluded, somewhat difficult to find because the signs do not say RV anything, but "Spring Hill." Located at the end of a gravel road next to the church and cemetery. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.

Raleigh Oaks RV Resort, Four Oaks, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicest and cleanest RV parks we've ever stayed at. The shower/restrooms are large, individual, very well maintained and exceptionally clean. They serve waffles, coffee, and juice Wednesday thru Sunday 9:15 - 10:15 at no extra charge. Two nice pools and a hot tub with handicapped lifts at each. A miniature golf course next to the playground and tennis courts. The staff is very friendly and cordial, they escorted us to our site. Wi fi and cable were very good. We camped one week and definitely will be back! We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Apache Family Campground & Pier, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

Great location to the beach and pier. Cabana covered picnic area at each site. Very busy, very crowded, campers checking in and out at all hours. Peace and quiet are a premium. Golf carts are everywhere and lots of dogs. Close to shopping and tons of restaurants. We camped at Apache Family Campground & Pier in a Motorhome.

Tranter's Creek Resort & Campground, Washington, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Great place for an overnight stay, just outside of Washington and a short drive to historic Bath. Staff was very cordial. No cable service. A lot of very well kept permanent sites around and along the river. Pool was very nice with large shady pavilion with tables and chairs. Trash pickup twice a day. We camped at Tranter's Creek Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great place to stay to catch the mainland ferries, about 6 miles out of town. Plenty of great places to shop and things to do. Great history lessons to be learned. Our seafood platter at Howards Pub was about the worst one we've ever had. Enough said about that!

Beachcomber Campground, Ocracoke, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

We decided not to stay here because the price we were quoted was a bit outrageous for the sites and they didn't have sewer hookups. The showers looked like outhouses and we are not normally picky people. We camped at Beachcomber Campground in a Motorhome.

Hatteras Sands Resort, Hatteras, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Staff was very nice. Many sites are right on the canals. Very close to the ferry. Nice pool with very little shade. Cable was out and had been out for several days, but weren't told until we were settled in and hooked up to everything else. They said they would contact the cable company, but we never had service. They also have attractive little cottages to stay in. We camped at Hatteras Sands Resort in a Motorhome.

Great place to catch the Hatteras/Ocracoke ferry, because the lines can get very long and the wait times can brutal, so make sure you catch the early or very late ferries. Great place to stay and we'll stay here again.

Kitty Hawk RV Park, Kitty Hawk, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Very, very tight, on soft unpacked sand, almost impossible to level our coach. Our stabilizer jacks and blocks sink into the soft sand. Bring a shovel to get level. Wi-Fi was almost non-existent. We camped at Kitty Hawk RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ocean Waves Campground, Waves, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $55.00

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Our spot was dry even with 17" of rain over the last two weeks. Other sites didn't fare as well but drained quickly. Our site was very close to the ocean, just over the dunes. Cable and Wi-Fi were excellent. We will definitely will stay here again. We camped at Ocean Waves Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

It was somewhat difficult to find, due to the poor signage at the entrance. Look for the Lighted Arrow. Once you turn into the park, the office is located below the restaurant! The lots are very uneven and require blocking. We stayed 1 week in our motorhome.
