Pendleton KOA , Pendleton, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night in a pull-through spot. It was clean and well-maintained, in a location convenient for us to stop for the night. Check-in was efficient and friendly. Two sides of the campground have views of the Blue Mountains. We used the campground Wi-Fi , which was reasonably fast, and had excellent cell coverage via Verizon. We did not use laundry, showers, or restrooms. We would consider staying here again. We camped at Pendleton KOA in a Motorhome.

Boise / Meridian KOA, Meridian, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night. The park was nicely maintained, in the middle of town. We barely fit into our back-in site with our 35' motorhome and 15' SUV tow parked in front of our picnic table. It was a convenient location to stay for one night. We did not use Wi-Fi , showers, or restrooms. We had excellent cell service via Verizon. We would probably not stay here again in a back-in spot if we had other options. We camped at Boise / Meridian KOA in a Motorhome.

Headwaters Lodge & Cabins at Flagg Ranch (formerly Flagg Ranch Resort), Moran, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a few days. It is a few miles south of the south entrance of Yellowstone National Park, en route to the Grand Tetons. This park has some major drawbacks including: all dirt/gravel, no signs for the loops (i.e., directional indicators for which way a road is supposed to go), very tight getting into spots for a 35' motorhome, and absolutely no cell service or Wi-Fi for several miles in either direction. Staff were a mix of helpful and not helpful / dismissive. This was also the most expensive camping site in our 3-week trip. We did not use the restrooms or showers. We would not stay here again. We camped at Headwaters Lodge & Cabins at Flagg Ranch (formerly Flagg Ranch Resort) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

One cool thing was that the US Air Force had set up several travel trailers for military members and their families to use on leave.

Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean and well-maintained park very close to the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Well-situated in the town of West Yellowstone; we rode bicycles from the park to downtown to meander around. There are a lot of stores and restaurants in town. Satellite laundry was small but very adequate and clean for what we needed. Our pull-through site was very easy to set up in. Check-in staff were very friendly and informative of the town as well as the National Park. We did not use Wi-Fi , showers, or restrooms. We had excellent cell service via Verizon. We would consider staying here again. We camped at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park in a Motorhome.

Missoula KOA, Missoula, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for several days while visiting family in Missoula. This park is centrally located in the middle of town. Its surroundings are not visually appealing -- a mobile home park and some apartment buildings; however, the park itself is well maintained and clean, has several amenities (pool, rental bikes for kids, KOA Kafe, etc). Our premium pull-through spot was incredibly spacious with nice shade trees. The laundry was very large and clean. We did not use Wi-Fi , showers, or restrooms. We had excellent cell service via Verizon. We camped at Missoula KOA in a Motorhome.

Blackwell Island RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay here very much. We parked along the row that faces the entrance road. Generally, we would not choose a location along the road; however, this actually ended up being quite private and had a nice tree shading our RV door in the late afternoon heat. We also enjoyed riding our bikes from there into downtown Coeur d'Alene. We found the site and grounds very lovely, particularly the beach along the riverfront. We did not use Wi-Fi , cable, the restrooms, or the laundry. We had good cell service via Verizon. We plan on staying here again. We camped at Blackwell Island RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

With a short jaunt over the bridge (very wide bike path lane), you can connect to the very long bike path that leads through downtown Coeur d'Alene and beyond. Very enjoyable.
