Wekiwa Springs State Park, Apopka, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This was a family trip. We were looking forward to swimming in the spring, however it was packed. Unbelievably crowded at all times of the day. From the campsites, you have to drive over to the springs, as the hike is too far with small children. There is a lot of parking for the spring, however all spots are full by 10AM. Park has succumbed to careless litter. Bandaids, mask parts, cigarettes, and food containers in and around spring. Hundreds of people in the water and no restrooms nearby. You can't leave the park to grab anything from the store, because you will be in a long line, that extends down the main road to get back into the park. The hiking trails were very nice. We camped at Wekiwa Springs State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If you need to run to the store, go in the evening.

Don't plan to swim unless you want to swim like a sardine in a can.

Bring bikes and plan to hike.
