Wenatchee River County Park, Monitor, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great park that is only 6 miles west of Wenatchee on Hwy 2 (97) in a small community called Monitor. Don't try and use the street address in your GPS, because it won't work. Trust me.

The park has large sites with lots of grass and tree coverage. It is well maintained and check in was easy. The only downside as noted on other reviews is the proximity to the hwy and railway, but the noise wasn't too bad. We stayed on Sire 42 which is a pull through, but the approach is a bit awkward especially if pulling a vehicle. We camped at Wenatchee River County Park in a Motorhome.

Kootenay River RV Kampground, Castlegar, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is well maintained and as an adult only park it is quite quiet within the park. However the Hwy is close and the train can be heard. The park is just above the river and on a hot day it is a good place to cool off. The grass is well maintained as are the washrooms and showers. The sprinkler system could be set up better as it sprays on the sides of the RVs leaving water spots. The hook up are good and positioned well. The staff are pleasant and work hard. The only funny thing is that the quoted weekly rate is really "stay seven days and get two for free". We stayed nine days so had to pay full rate for the last two days. Other parks would have prorated for the final two days. We camped at Kootenay River RV Kampground in a Motorhome.

NK’MIP RV Park, Osoyoos, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This was my first time staying at NK'MIP Campground and RV Resort even though I live only a couple of hours north. Let me start with check in. I arrived at the campground at about 11:30 am. Our arrival time was unavoidable as I were travelling from further south. I hoped to set up the coach, head home with the car to pick up my wife and then return later in the day. Unfortunately I was not permitted to check in before 1:00 pm. We ended up leaving the coach on the side of the road until we returned from home about 6 hours later. The person working the front counter couldn't have cared less. Customer service seemed foreign to her and she was borderline rude. I explained that we were joining two other RVs and would like spots together if possible, but again she couldn't have cared less. This park has the possibility of being a 1st class resort, but that would require maintenance. What used to be grass in now a weed patch. The washrooms were not cleaned often enough through the day and in general the place is getting run down even though it is not that old. On the plus side, the roads are paved and in good condition, the sites in "C loop" are large with trees between site. The hookups are good and positioned well. We camped at NK’MIP RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ravenwood RV Resort, Athol, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great park in a great location. The park is quite new so everything is in good condition. Unfortunately the washrooms and laundry are not yet built. For us it didn't matter as we have both in our coach. The sites are a good size, but open with little shade so on a hot day, it was hot. There is a pool which we used most days. The staff are friendly and check in was easy. The roads are gravel and a bit dusty, but not too bad. The hook ups are well located, although many of the sites including ours didn't have sewer. The park is 20 minutes north of Coeur d'Alene which is worth exploring. SilverWood Amusement Park is a short distance away; a great place for the kids. Farragut State Park with a great beach is a 15 minute drive. We camped at Ravenwood RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Kimberley Riverside Campground, Kimberley, British Columbia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park is south of Kimberley by 7km - 10 min drive. It is owned and operated by the Municipality of Kimberley. It is well run, the staff are friendly and the washrooms are well maintained. The park has three loops and even though we were in the bottom loop, which had a steep grade going down to it, the sites were quite accessible even with our 40' coach and car in tow. The hook ups are well placed. The park includes a pool which was a nice relief on hot days, a really nice mini golf course and access to the river. The park is quite popular, but was quiet in the evenings. We camped at Kimberley Riverside Campground in a Motorhome.

Fort Spokane Campground, Davenport, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This is a typical state park. Lots of room between sites, but no hook ups. There is a free dump station on site. The check in process is interesting as there is none. You make your reservations online then arrive at the park and park yourself. No gatehouse and no one to check in with. Unfortunately, a sign was posted that the campground was full, but yet there were multiple sites empty. This was due to the fact that no one checks to see if you have arrived so that empty sites can be opened for others. Having said that our stay was enjoyable. The weather was hot, but a nice beach was close by so that we could cool of during the day. The evenings cooled down so that the coach cooled off at night. There is a boat launch in the park and many spent the days on the water. The park was quiet at night. The washrooms could use a bit more attention. We camped at Fort Spokane Campground in a Motorhome.

River Lodge Resort, Parker Dam, California

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large park that hasn't been maintained well. It is dusty, with gravel roads and a musty smelling club house. The focus is on renting spaces for park models and they seem to have forgotten about the RVs. From what we were told three parks were combined to one large park. There is a Par 3 golf course, but those staying in the park have to maintain it in order to keep it in reasonable shape. Beware of the large speed bump on the downside of the office that goes diagonally across the road. Large coaches could loose a windshield. We camped at River Lodge Resort in a Motorhome.

Mt. Kidd RV Park, Kananaskis, Alberta

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Mt. Kidd for 15 nights starting the last week of July through the August long weekend. Even though the campground was close to being full, it was quiet at night and there were no noise or other issues. This is a great family campground as there are numerous playgrounds, trails within the park, sports field, wading pool, and a kids nature program.

The campground is well maintained and has good amenities including very clean washrooms and showers. We stayed in a full service site and requested a "less treed site" so we had good satellite reception and were close enough to get WiFi reception although it was weak. The price is a bit high at just over $50 CDN a night after taxes and reservation fees although the sites are large and most are quite private.

You are in the mountains at about 5000 ft. so expect cool evenings and ever changing weather. Unfortunately there were bears in the area so many of the trails in the campground were closed. You had to drive to get to good hiking spots. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return. We camped at Mt. Kidd RV Park in a Motorhome.

Kokanee Creek Provincial Park, Balfour, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great provincial park with large sites, many with lots of shade. A few sites have 50 amp power hookups, but no other services are available. the park is on the west arm of Kootenay Lake and has good beaches. Portions of the park has been upgraded with new washrooms and showers. The park is well maintained and is expectioanl clean. There is lots to do in the area including Aisworth Hot Springs. During the summer season you will need to book well in advance of your stay. We visited in September and had our pick of sites. We camped at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Kettle River RV Park, Rock Creek, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground in Rock Creek, BC. Most of the sites are rented as seasonal sites, but this doesn't take away from the overall experience. Unfortunately there are not that many daily sites available when there is an event on in town. The sites offer full hookups with 30 amp power. Unfortunately the sites are narrow and you do get highway noise on the front row. There is lots of grassy areas and fire pits are available along the river. There is a nice golf course directly across the highway. The staff are freindly and the washrooms and showers are clean. There is a small store onsite. We camped at Kettle River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Townsite Campground (Parks Canada), Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great place to stay. It is adjacent to the town of Waterton and the park has many great hiking and biking trails. The views are spectacular. The sites are spacious with many being pull through for easy access. The washrooms and showers are clean and plentiful. The only negative is that the sewer connection is in the centre of the site, under the RV. This creates a problem if you don't notice this until you are set up. We camped at Townsite Campground (Parks Canada) in a Motorhome.

Pine Springs Motel and RV Park, Salmo, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park fell far short of what is described on their website. The services were poorly installed with the water connects being pvc piping sticking out of the ground unprotected. Many didn't work. The only other RV on site was a long term resident with a lot of junk around his RV. The grounds were poorly kept with dog droppings throughout the site. Their were no washrooms or showers available. The area is no not big and the sites not well defined. I question how 36 RVs would fit. The picnic table were old and unuseable. Given the rate of $35 per night plus tax there are many better options available in the area. We camped at Pine Springs Motel and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tunnel Mountain Village II Campground - Electric Hookups (Parks Canada, Banff National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The location is great as it is only a few minutes to downtown Banff. You are in the heart of the Rockies with lots of hiking and biking trails close by. We stayed on the outer ring with a great view of the valley below. The only minus is that you parallel park, end to end, and there is no privacy. We only spent a night as a stop over spot so this didn't bother us, but if we were to stay longer we would look for a site with a bit more privacy. Silver Sage Campground, Kamloops, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 3 nights in late June. We booked 3 nights, but they only had us down for 2 nights so we had to move to an adjacent site for the last day. The old guy working in the office needs to retire as he was grumpy as heck and wasn't helpful in accommodating our third night.

The campground has potential, but isn't maintained well. The grass isn't watered and the landscaping is unkept. The roadways are dusty.

Unfortunately there are not many campground choices in Kamloops so there is no competition to drive cleaning up the campground. We camped at Silver Sage Campground in a Motorhome.
