Amish Country Campsites, Winesburg, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

I have camped here several times over ten or so years. The owners are wonderful, but the overall "feel" of the campground has changed for the worse. The grass in many areas has not been mowed and you can really tell it around some of the many long-term campers. Lots of trucks parked in areas by construction workers make navigating the already tight roads difficult. I am sorry to see this change, but this will probably be my last visit to this campground. We camped at Amish Country Campsites in a Motorhome.

Foothills RV Park, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We have been staying at this park for over twenty years. The owners are wonderful and keep everything clean and orderly. The restroom and laundry facilities are very clean and air conditioned with music playing softly. The park is not that large, but you do not feel cramped at all. All sites are fairly level asphalt with a concrete patio and fire ring. Mostly shaded and quiet, while still close to the parkway and the trolley. Wifi is the best of ANY RV park I have stayed at. There is a little hill to get to the park and the sites are on a loop. We camped at Foothills RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Getting here is the hard part. Traffic from I40 thru Sieverville and Pigeon Forge is terrible! It can easily take you 45 minutes to go fifteen miles. The mountains are beautiful and we love it here. After the drive in...you just want to stay!

Grand Ole RV Resort, Goodlettsville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

The staff are excellent and very helpful. The park is laid out a bit odd, but it seems to work OK. There are LOTS of trains very close to the campground, so you hear them often. The sites vary, but most are fairly level and graveled. The only area to walk a dog is out by the main entrance, but you can walk them anywhere in the park. Good electric and water connections, it was nearly 100 degrees when we camped there and never had any problems with utilities. They have live music several days of the week and you can get a tour bus into Nashville. Cost to stay here was less than half of the places on Music Row and I felt it was just as nice...with better staff. We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You can enter the park from two streets. When you get there...it looks like you need to turn in quickly depending on the direction you are coming from, but you can continue around the intersection and enter there too.

Cave Country RV Campground, Cave City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

The park is very clean and well maintained. There are not a lot of large shade trees, but the sites are all pull through and long enough for our 27 ft. rig with the tow dolly still hitched up. Showers and restroom facilities are immaculate. There is a dog run for your furry friends. Sites are level and graveled, propane is available on site. Garbage pick-up every morning. Nice club house and excercise room (I never used it, but it is very nice). We had stayed here five years ago and were impressed with the RV park. The quality and cleanliness is just as good now as it was five years ago. Staff were very courteous and professional. If I were in the area I will stay here again. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Very close to Mammoth Cave and Kentucky cave country. There is a Walmart about 15 miles away, otherwise a Save-a-Lot is within a mile of the campground. Cracker Barrel restaurant And McDonalds are close by.

Grandpa's Farm Campground, Richmond, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at Grandpa's farm many times and each time it has been wonderful. This is a private park with some permanent residents, but you never feel like an outsider. The owners are always on site and working hard to make your stay perfect. It is a great place to relax and unwind. I know several folks have commented about the noise if you are by the road, but I have not experienced a problem with noise. Usually the AC is running and you don't notice anything. Had one brief low voltage situation, but it lasted less than 15 seconds. My power conditioner shut things down until the power came back up. Facilities are neat and clean and you always feel welcomed. We camped at Grandpa's Farm Campground in a Motorhome.

Yellowstone Park / Mountainside KOA, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

The KOA registration process is anything but user friendly, but overall the stay was ok, not wow. Wifi is terrible, cell phone coverage is minimal. I would probably check out another campground if I came back. We camped at Yellowstone Park / Mountainside KOA in a Motorhome.

Hunt's Cedar River Campground, Tipton, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We drove in after reading the Good Sam ratings...boy was that wrong! Made a loop and left. We did NOT stay here, the place just did not appear inviting. The cost of $1 was ONLY entered so that I could leave this review, we did NOT stay here.

We were drawn to this RV park by the Good Sam ratings, which were Facilities 9, Restrooms 9.5 and Appeal 9. It was near dark when we arrived at the location and the general appearance was not good. I would rate it at maybe a 5 or 6 for general appearance. Most of the campers appeared to be permanent and there was nobody outside or at the registration area (it was later when we arrived). We were tired and decided to try another park in the area. I will say that when we called earlier in the day to see if there was a site available, the person that I spoke to was very nice. We camped at Hunt's Cedar River Campground in a Motorhome.

Sleepy Hollow RV Park, Wall, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The staff are friendly and very helpful. All of the RV sites are pull-through but some of the utilities are spread out a bit. Cable and Wifi are great, the sites are gravel and level. All interior roads are gravel...a little dusty at times. The restrooms and showers are VERY clean. Not much in the way of shade, but the sites are fairly large. You are very close to the Western entrance to the Badlands National Park and within walking distance of Wall Drug...a must see. They also have a fenced in pet run that is very nice if you are traveling with a dog. We camped at Sleepy Hollow RV Park in a Motorhome.
