Johnny's Lakeside RV Resort , Foley, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park, quiet, convenient location. Great water park and pools, nice hall and office staff. Sites reasonably spaced. Close in to Foley for groceries, Home Depot, etc. Camping World is just a couple miles north. WalMart on other end of town, only about 5 miles. Just beyond that is the outlet mall. Very convenient to go to Gulf Shores without staying there, about 10 miles. Lots of locals leave their RVs here all summer. Early reservations a must from Memorial on all summer. Paid monthly rate, don't remember what it was, just pulled a number for that. We camped at Johnny's Lakeside RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Blazing Star Luxury RV Resort, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful RV park! Excellent facilities. We experienced no problem parking our large rig. Saw 1 dog loose in the park, obviously a stray from outside the park as the poor thing looked a bit ragtag. There aren't "dogs" running loose as described by another reviewer. Lots of people walking their dogs on leash. We have either stayed in or visited all the parks in San Antonio and this is by far the best. Perfect location, close to everything. You can tell who the permanent residents are by the care you see in their yards. What a refreshing change. It seems a lot of RV parks tend to be located in less than desirable areas and this one is in a nice area. We camped at Blazing Star Luxury RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pioneer Beach Resort, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2011 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

OK, all the posts are true. This is a nice park, beautifully maintained. Here's the down side: the wind blows nonstop. I repeat nonstop. We paid for a month and left a week early. The wind is just too much. Could not sleep. That's how bad it was. Just be prepared! No shade. Rate based on monthly rate. We camped at Pioneer Beach Resort in a Motorhome.

Rio RV Park, Brownsville, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2007 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Every post you have read about this park is absolutely true! This park is awful. A few things that haven't been mentioned include the condition of the hottub. Aside from the temperature problem, only 3 of the jets work and it is chipped all over; is in horrible shape besides always seeming to be dirty. The roads are just unbelievable, nothing more than a patch job everywhere. We love to ride our bikes, but you can't do that here. The trash is constantly overflowing, more bins are needed. Don't be taken in by the "fancy" web site. The owner has not maintained this park, just does patch jobs on everything when needed. He's owned it for 30 years and it is apparent that he no longer cares about the condition of the park and hasn't for some time. We've been here since Nov. We've had it and have decided to find another park and leave. We camped at Rio RV Park in a Motorhome.

Puerto Del Sol RV Park, Corpus Christi, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This park wasn't for us. I guess it all depends on what you want. If you like fishing, you'll love it, they have small fishing piers right in front of the sites. No beach. You are right on the water, but they don't have much to offer in facilities. Is very near the Lex and the Aquarium and convenient for a couple of nights to visit nearby attractions. If you want a nice campground with good facilities for a longer stay, look elsewhere. Windy, windy, windy. We would not return. We camped at Puerto Del Sol RV Park in a Motorhome.
