Riverview RV Park & Storage, Forks, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We were given a space in the OVERFLOW area. The site was secluded away from the main campground, with partial hookup (no sewer) or cable. Very quiet area among the tall trees, and the satellite reception was poor. Utilities were good, except water connection was in a box below ground and the 30 amp connection was almost ground level. Road and site were gravel and almost level. It was a short hike uphill to the showers. Nice staff, who guided us to the site. No other interaction with staff. Clean shower and restroom. About 6 miles outside of Forks. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Storage in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If you are going to Forks for a twilight experience, forget it. The films were not shot in Forks, only mentioned in the books. There is a "Twilight" tour which was interesting and showed locations mentioned in the Twilight series. Continue west on Mora Rd to Rialto Beach, a place to not miss. We were directed to La Push for dinner at the River's Edge. Food was decent but does run out of food towards the end of the day. Beautiful scenery in La Push.

Glenyan RV Park & Campground , Ashland, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Would not stay here again. Dusty, very un-level site, water pressure was decent and the 30 amp power was extremely high (133 volts), Interior roads were very hard to navigate with a 30' trailer and the back-in site was very short. Stayed only one night and that was enough. A very shady place, be careful for low hanging branches. We camped at Glenyan RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Mountain Valley RV Park, Tehachapi, California

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This was an overnight stay. Enjoyed the wide open spaces, with nothing but open field behind our space. Very quiet, but a distance away from Hwy 58. No light pollution, just bright nighttime stars. Site was kind'a level, just added a little Andersen level. Water is from their own well and was good. Power was decent. Interior roads were newly installed asphalt and site was dirt. I could have stayed much longer but headed home. We would like to return. We camped at Mountain Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tillamook / Bay City RV Park, Tillamook, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was nowhere close to being level. Site was pea gravel, bordered by grass. Utilities were in the middle of the site. Was very difficult to get the camper level and miss the power pedestal. The cable TV required a converter box, which didn't work and the note in the converter bag stated cable was offered free, so don't complain if it doesn't work. On this evening, it wasn't quiet. The mutt in the adjacent trailer barked constantly while owners were gone. Then the other mutts in the CG chimed in. Shower was .25 for 3 minutes. Roads were gravel and OK on the navigational side. Will not return. We camped at Tillamook / Bay City RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Alder Acres RV Park, Coos Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We had a pull-thru. Pad and roads were asphalt. Site was level with gravel separating each site and a patio table. Utilities were good and at the rear of the site. Very quiet and peaceful. Some permanent residents but very well maintained sites. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very clean campground. Showers/restrooms were clean. Satellite dish aiming was good. We will return. JGW RV Park, Redding, California

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This was a very clean park. Some sites were on the Sacramento River. Staff was excellent and friendly. The grounds were very well kept. Roads were navigable and well paved. Our site was leveled concrete, bordered by gravel and asphalt for parking our towing vehicle. Out of the camper's door was grass, a shade tree and a patio table. A tall shrub separated our site from the site on the passenger side. Bath/showers were very clean but there were only two shower stalls in the bathhouse. Did laundry (clean room), be aware it is expensive ($3.25 each for wash and dry). Near I-5 but the road noise didn't bother us as we were in the middle of the park. Utilities were very good and were in the middle and not rear. Our site was a pull-thru but if management decided, it could be divided as two sites. Would return again. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sequoia RV Ranch, Three Rivers, California

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

As said, a rustic and dusty CG. Swimming was possible by using the river's swimming hole. Our site was pea gravel and tracked into the camper. Roads are broken asphalt and need repair. Site was level enough for us. Showers cost .25 for two minutes and a 2 minute minimum. Our power pedestal for some reason reversed polarity in the middle of the day and when we returned found no power. There is not an onsite maintenance person, so I had to call the off-site person. After 1.5 hours, he found a work-around and got us power. Trash was left from the previous camper, which we cleaned up. The trailer in the adjacent site was not parked properly which prevented us from using the fire ring. Never saw staff patrolling the CG for violations like this. Not really happy with the way of the different pricing structure, FHP, partial HP and no HP. We only had water and 30 amp service, no cable or sewer. This worked while were visiting family in Sequoia NP but would not stay here again. We camped at Sequoia RV Ranch in a Travel Trailer.

Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park), Desert Hot Springs, California

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second stay. The only negative was with their office staff. They were pleasant and helpful but their reservation procedures need much work. This time they had my reservation transposed with another person with the same last name but different first name. Our first site assignment was where a mobile home has been and not conducive for a travel trailer. Then the second site was next to another camper when there were at least 20 open sites without neighbors. Other than those two problems, again we had a great time. This location is mainly park homes with several sites available for RV guests. Very quiet for a Memorial Day weekend, 'cause this is a 55+ location. No rowdy people and inconsiderate people passing through our site. The pool and spas are naturally heated by mineral hot springs and was very soothing. It was a little windy but enjoyed the wind, quail and jackrabbits. Streets were a little narrow but we made it OK. The site was hard dirt and a little pad where to place your steps. Utilities were good, the cable TV required a converted box available at the office. Very minimal traffic noise. The residents were mostly friendly. Again we really enjoyed our selves and will return again. We camped at Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.

Pala Casino RV Resort, Pala, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $77.00
Overall Rating:

This is our second time visiting this park. There is construction but not on the weekend we were there. Road noise was negligible, nor was the close proximity to the horses and cattle. Park was very clean and the grass separating the sites was nicely manicured. Be advised the pool and showers utilize a keycard and require you leave a credit card deposit of $10. That will be refunded to your credit card when you return the keycard. The site had level concrete and very good utilities, didn't try cable TV. Sky was unobstructed for satellite TV. The interior roads are very wide and easy to navigate. The 24 hours free shuttle take you from , and returns you to your site. Friday evenings are all-you-can eat seafood at the buffet and approx $35 per person. The only problem I had on this stay was the lack of security in the pool area. Among the standard rules, Pala's rules state no smoking, no diapers in pool/spa and no alcohol or glass in the pool area. We observed all three for at least one hour, and no resort staff entered the pool/spa to do policing. May return again. We camped at Pala Casino RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Visit Pauma Valley Fruit Stand on highway 76, located between I-15 and the campground. Fresh fruit and vegetables. Wineries are located in Temecula, along with other things to see and eateries. Caution, there are a very limited number of eateries in Pala or near Pala except for the casino.

Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground, Buellton, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

This CG is large, meaning a lot of rowdy children and adults. Staff was very good, CG was clean. Wasn't very happy with the length and width of our space. Did like the grass and shrub at our site.We drove to Surf (west on 246) to the ocean, very nice ride. Also visited Ostrich Land (between CG and Solvang on 246) Solvang, Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, Lompoc and Gaviota State Park. Lots of wineries and wine tasting in the near by country side. For the children, there is a splash pad and pool. At the office, there is another pool and adult spa. Our site was packed gravel, which was a premium pull thru and not long enough for TT and truck. We made the mistake of staying over the Easter weekend, with tons of speeding, bike riding children and not watching for vehicles. BE VERY CAREFUL. Not a problem of the CG, but it appears they cater to rowdy campers who are very noisy and inconsiderate by cutting thru camp sites. We finally blocked the path with our lawn chairs. We would visit here again, but not on a holiday or regular weekend. We camped at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Pechanga RV Resort & Casino, Temecula, California

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here many times and found to be a nice place, EXCEPT if you get a back-in site. The management has cut a pathway in the rear bordering shrubs that allows others to pass/walk through your site to reach the next row of campsites, which is usually friends or family. How RUDE! of course they don't ask or say excuse us, they think this is acceptable. And please forbid it is a rowdy/uncouth bunch. That makes it more worse! Will not accept a deluxe site again which is a back-in. Also, most sites facing north is not satellite dish preferred. We camped at Pechanga RV Resort & Casino in a Travel Trailer.

Pioneer Beach Resort, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

The first night we were given a premium back-in which was very nice, except for the constant parade of golf carts. Site was concrete with good utilities. Nice grass between sites and spacious. We had to move and was given a standard pull-thru for two nights. That was so objectionable. Site was gravel and extremely close to neighbors. Utilities were acceptable, interior road OK but watch out for the golf carts. It was like the L.A. freeways. The bath house was clean and each lockable shower room had a restroom area. Lots of permanent residents, which are easily identifiable. At check-in, I gave my credit and Good Sam card but the rate didn't reflect the discount. Returned to the office to question the missing discount and was told I would have received the discount if I had shown my Good Sam card. After a little discussion, I was given a credit for the discount. A very large CG and needs a map just to find the exit. Would stay here again, but never, never, never in a standard pull thru. Jamaica Beach RV Park, Galveston, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed at this CG for 3 days. This CG is very much oriented to children and has plenty for them to do. Miniature golf, splash pad, the pools, lazy river and other activities. With that said, expect plenty of children running loose in the streets and running thru campsites. They do offer fresh pizza in the office and a good breakfast on Wednesday and Saturday at a reasonable price. The CG is a distance from Galveston where some activities can be found. This CG is across the road from the beach and public access. Staff was pleasant and overall the CG was crowded. The site was decent asphalt, utilities in good working order and interior roads were good. Watch out for the one-way streets. Would stay again. We selected this park based on Good Sam review and CG Guide indicating an on-site restaurant. Found the restaurant closed until Oct, guess only open for snowbirds. The roads are gravel and also the sites. Good navigation within the park. Extremely quiet! A very enjoyable over-night experience. Staff was very helpful. Didn't try Wifi and cable was decent. CG sits on top of a steep hill. The road are gravel as is the site. New clubhouse and very well stocked with activities. Very clean showers.
