Whispering Oaks Campground, Manchester, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Over priced for what you get. No cable, no laundry and I'm not sure if there were showers. There was an old brick building that looked to awful to go inside. When you enter it looks very nice with a pool out front. But the sites were in the trees with all dirt and gravel. It has the soft powder dirt that get in you toes if you were flip flops. No fire rings, no patios and sites are very close together. It really needed a good cleaning. When we registered we asked if there were any discounts, he remarked only for military and $40 was a discount. Well we have been on the road for 5 months and we have paid much less for much more in amenities. You are out and away from everything, closes eateries are 7 miles. I'm really trying to think of a plus, oh yes it was quiet. We camped at Whispering Oaks Campground in a Motorhome.

Newport News Park Campground, Newport News, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

No sewer but yes they have a dump. This park is very quiet with plenty of biking and hiking available. They also have fishing and small boat rentals. It is the perfect location for the Williamsburg triangle of history. Some sites are level but many are not but are doable, bring blocks of wood. Everything you need is close by, but while you're in the park you feel like you're miles from everyone. We camped at Newport News Park Campground in a Motorhome.

North River Campground, Shawboro, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Clean, clean clean. This park is so well layed out and very well maintained. The price reflects a combination of PA and Good Sam. We stayed over the weekend so PA will kick in on Sunday and will be $22. We are about 20 minutes from anything but well worth the stay. All size rigs can be accommodated without any problems. No hanging branches etc. The only thing is we stayed in August and there isn't any shade. The west side of the park does have trees to help the sitting sun from beating down on you, but no trees overhead. The trees in the park just have not matured. One other thing: you need to is arrive during daylight because the 1.5 miles before the park gates is so very narrow. Our motorhome took up both sides of the road and if it is dark you will not see the marshy wet grasses if by chance you had to pull over for on coming traffic. We camped at North River Campground in a Motorhome.

Surf & Stream Campground, Toms River, New Jersey

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

The owner and office help was extremely kind and helpful. The park was very quiet in the back but in front by the office on weekends, it was loud because of activities. I think it's great they try to offer activities for travelers, but it seemed like it was more for the full timers and they have so many full timers. The owner seemed like he keeps a tight rein on the full timers. I didn't have any problems, but I also didn't feel safe enough to take a walk. The entire park is in the woods and it is all gravel, no grass anywhere or patios. You are on top of each other like sardines.

No, I will not stay here again because it was too scary and we felt like we couldn't leave our coach with out the thought that someone would break into it. I feel bad saying this because I think the owner is trying his best. We camped at Surf & Stream Campground in a Motorhome.

Adirondack Gateway RV Resort, Gansevoort, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The people that run this park are so very nice, they want you to have a great stay. The park had tons of things for the family to do and everyone seemed to be having a great time. If you want peace and quiet come here in the middle of the week when the kids are back in school. The pounding of the music speakers were so loud and lasted until 10:20pm. I was going crazy. The other sad part to this park is your packed in like sardines. So if you have a bunch of kids this is the place to be. We camped at Adirondack Gateway RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sandy Beach Resort, Contoocook, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a resort. Dirty and unkept. WiFi and cable didn't work. Very hard for motor homes to get through. Office girl knew absolutely nothing about the campground. No one for after hours if there is a problem. Stay somewhere else. We camped at Sandy Beach Resort in a Motorhome.

Scheffel's Hideaway Campground, Two Rivers, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park is quiet and very clean with plenty of room to park any size rig. It's very easy in and out, some sites have trees for shade. Town is located about 2.5 miles away.

There is a trail from the camp leading to Lake Michigan which is about a mile away.

We loved that we could hear the crickets and frogs at night.

They have:

4 showers

2 washer and dryers

Playground for kids

A nice man made waterfall to sit and relax. We camped at Scheffel's Hideaway Campground in a Motorhome.

Arrowwood Cedar Shore Resort, Oacoma, South Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park is very clean. It accommodates all size rigs with easy in and easy out. We are right on the water with a wonderful view. There is a playground for the kids, and all guests can use the hotel pool, spa etc... It is 4 miles off 90, and well worth the peaceful stay. We camped at Arrowwood Cedar Shore Resort in a Motorhome.

Ventura Ranch KOA, Santa Paula, California

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Not Handicap friendly, I felt really bad for a camper in a wheel chair. Safety issues with the steep stairs, be very careful. Very small bouncing pillow that did not have enough air. The kids enjoyed the Zip Line. The 1 hour per day for the rock wall was not enough time for the amount of kids. They did not drive through the park to keep down the noise from barking dogs. However they did respond when we called to complain. The problem was they allowed 3 dogs to come in with one family.

Friendly staff, I found them very enjoyable and they were there for the campers.

After visiting other KOA's before coming here, I was very disappointed with this park. Northern CA and San Diego have really nice parks and we do not mind paying the price for them.

This park has mostly tent, cabin and TeePee spots. There are a couple good RV spots 13 & 14 but most RV spots are very close to each other. I don't enjoy listening to your neighbors conversations.

So over all for the price, it's not worth it.

If you are a camper that enjoys sleeping in, well forget it here. The Peacocks are beautiful to look at but very loud in the mornings. Kind of like waking up next to a bunch of roosters. We camped at Ventura Ranch KOA in a Motorhome.

On the River Golf & RV Park, Myrtle Creek, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this park. It was very clean with a great location. Great river, mountain view and golf course what more can you ask for. Plenty of space between rigs with grass and trees. What I liked was you could not tell the the full time live-ins verses the overnight travelers. No junk laying around full timers RV's. We camped at On the River Golf & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Huntington By The Sea RV Resort, Huntington Beach, California

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This RV Park is nothing but a parking lot. Trying to park and getting out was terrible. You can never find the office staff. Our sewer backed up and the 30 amp. didn't work the first night. Yes the beach is across the street but nothing else for miles. It's really not a good family RV Park, good for adults. We camped at Huntington By The Sea RV Resort in a Motorhome.
