Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground, Burnaby, British Columbia

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Perfect location for visit to Vancouver. Very friendly staff. All sites are back in, and very tight area for manuvering. Thankfully a fellow camper assisted me or the struggle would have been even worse. But once set up, everything went well. Very well stocked store, including basic groceries. Several tour bus companies will pick you up and drop you off at this campground, a great convenience if taking a guided tour (well worth the time and money). Has unusually nice amenities, such as a very nice indoor pool (which we did not make use of). There is no area, however, within the RV park for walking a dog. Staff will direct you to a public park right outside the main entrance, which worked out okay for us. We camped at Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Dockweiler RV Park, Playa del Rey, California

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to stay if in the L.A. area. We were visiting our son and his family in Santa Monica, which was only a 20 minute drive away. This RV park is literally right on the beach at the Pacific Ocean. Because of its great location it is extremely popular so reservations are a must. You can only make reservations 90 days or less before arrival, so I recommend if possible calling in exactly 90 days ahead. The sites are level, and if possible, I suggest asking for the front row which is right on the beach itself. Sites are VERY close together. My neighbor, when backing in, asked politely if I could roll in my awning a bit since he did not think he could open his slide out without hitting my awning. Very child friendly place, and pet friendly as well with two dog areas (small but adequate for dogs to do their business). Very helpful and friendly staff at the office. If you expect visitors, you need to get a guest parking pass, which they only provide in very limited numbers so you need to go to the office first thing the morning of the visit and buy a pass ($7). The park tended to be a bit noisy with virtually every site filled and many playing music all day long. This park is right next to the airport, so you do hear planes taking off all day and night, but with the a/c running in the RV, this was not a problem. But this RV park is a real find and I would absolutely come back here if visiting L.A. in the future. We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Mountain View RV Park & Campground, Sundance, Wyoming

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice smaller park. We stayed for one night at the very end of the season with very cold temps (down to 15 degrees that night). The water hookups were off, but the owner offered their spigot at the office which was working to fill up our fresh water tank, which was more than enough to get us through the night and morning. Restrooms were seemingly brand new, sparkling clean and heated! Only stayed for one night and would definitely stay again if ever in Sundance, WY again. We camped at Mountain View RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Sunrise Campground, Bozeman, Montana

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice, quiet park despite being very close to busy roads. Being very late in the season we had no other RV's near us. Nice walking area for pets alongside and inside the park. Restrooms and showers were a bit far from where out site was, but not a problem. Stayed just for an overnight stop and would surely stay there again if in that area. We camped at Sunrise Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Pleasant RV Park, Bothell, Washington

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

A really nice, if crowded RV park in the Seattle area. Easy access to the highway to get downtown in less than 30 minutes. A quiet park with excellent facilities. However, when we checked in it was for a four night stay. Later I asked to extend the stay for three more days, and was told we had to move to another site for the extra days. On the day I had to move it was pouring rain, cold and anything but ideal for having to unhook, move and rehook the trailer to the hookups. I asked repeatedly if there was any way I could just stay where I was and was told rather brusquely that no, I had to move because another RV was promised my site. When I noted that their own literature says that while reservations will be honored, specific sites cannot be reserved, I was told that despite this I had to move that morning. So I moved, getting soaked and muddy in the process. Only 60 hours later, almost at the end of my extended stay, did an RV get put into my original site. If not for this unpleasant situation I would have give this campground a higher rating. We camped at Lake Pleasant RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pine Hill RV Park, Kutztown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

As others have said, this is a beautiful RV park with some beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The grass is well tended and the whole park is very clean and well maintained. No pool or other amenities for children. We stayed for a week and would have received a one day free stay had we committed to six nights when we checked in, but because we only committed to two days at the start, we did not qualify for the free night. There is no trash pickup, and only one dumpster, near the park entrance, for trash to be deposited. Our site was close to entrance so it was not a big deal for us, but had we been toward the rear of the park it would have been a nuisance. Free wifi, but weak and not very satisfactory. If we return to the Allentown area we could stay here again. We camped at Pine Hill RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Toledo East / Stony Ridge KOA, Perrysburg, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

I didn't have access to my computer and had to rely upon RVParky on my smartphone. This mediocre at best campground had a positive review which it didn't deserve. One of the shabbiest KOA's I have been to. Rutted roads, not very level site, and an electrical pole so poorly designed that I almost could not plug in my 30amp line. For this price I expect much better. The restrooms were clean, but old and worn with some stalls with doors that would not close fully. To position my trailer close enough to the sewer connection to reach with my 15 foot hose I almost could not get my 25 foot water hose to the spigot, but just managed to do so. Wifi is free but very weak and, in my opinion, not worth using (I have the option since my IPad can function on the cellular phone line). We stayed one night and would not return to this RV park in the future, and it made me question the value of being a KOA member. We camped at Toledo East / Stony Ridge KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Double J Campground and RV Park, Chatham, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice RV park a few mile south of Springfield in Chatham, right alongside the Interstate. Nice shaded site, perfectly level. Restrooms/showers were immaculate and brand new; a real pleasure compared to most RV parks. Staff is friendly and very helpful, and the office/store is very well equipped with RV and camping supplies. Very nice and well maintained pet area. Would definitely stay there again in the future. Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park in this desert Southwest Texas town. Somewhat unique in that there is a cafe on site, open for breakfast and dinner but not lunch. We ate at the cafe one evening and was not overly impressed with the food but it was OK (some reviews have said the chicken fried steak was the best; we found it mediocre at best). Unfortunately one of the two restroom buildings was under renovation so it was a significant walk to the remaining one by the office, but that restroom/shower room was clean and decently maintained. The site was level and not too close to our neighbors. I would definitely stay there again in if that part of Texas. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We came to Ft. Stockton in part to visit Marfa, TX which contains a large collection of minimalist artist Donald Judd. His art does nothing for me, and my wife who instigated the visit was quite disappointed. A long way to go for not much to see. Do not go on a Sunday, everything is pretty much closed.

Durant / Choctaw Casino KOA, Durant, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is as good as it gets, other than there is no shade at all. The sites are level, well maintained, WIFi is strong, restrooms and showers will rival what you have at home in terms of appearance and cleanliness. The RV park is a KOA, and is part of the whole Choctaw casino complex. Shuttle service to the casino, or to the gas station/convenience shop is free and available 24/7. The "convenience store" is well stocked and offers fresh cooked food as well. I've stayed at this RV park before, and in fact planned our itinerary to end the day of travel here. It is expensive in comparison to most RV parks, and reservations are a must as they are often full. We camped at Durant / Choctaw Casino KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Jellystone Park at Coyote Ranch RV Resort, Wichita Falls, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very expensive RV park, and since we were only using it for an overnight stop and did not use any of the recreational amenities, it seemed too pricey. The restrooms were spotless as were the showers, which is what attracted us to this location, and we were certainly not disappointed. But at this price I was annoyed that the claimed "level" site was most certainly not level and I was glad I had the ability to level my TT side to side. There was zero shade so it felt like being in the middle of a big parking lot. I was also a bit annoyed that while I asked for a site near the restrooms/showers, and the park was mostly empty, they assigned me a site not nearly as close as they could have done without any issue for the park. Also, the dog walking area was overgrown with weeds and filthy and I would not recommend using it. We camped at Jellystone Park at Coyote Ranch RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Austin Lone Star RV Resort, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a week while attending our granddaughter's graduation and visiting family, and have stayed here previously. While much of the park are permanent residents, its an excellent place to stay for a night or more. Clean restrooms and showers, good laundry facility, plenty of shade for most sites, and a secure location with a gated entrance. We camped at Austin Lone Star RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Access is on the service road to I-35 and traffic is VERY heavy, all of the time. While the address says "South I-35" it actually is on the north direction service road, so getting there might be a bit confusing.

Coachlight RV Park, Carthage, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Let me start by saying what others have noted, THERE ARE NO RESTROOMS OR SHOWERS AVAILABLE. As long as you know that, and understand that you will need to use your in-RV facilities for EVERYTHING, you will love this RV campground. Heavily shaded, spacious spots, quiet and clean. Good WiFi (several towers within campground). Nice pet area. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Three Springs RV Campground, Rolla, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small park with a fair number of full time residents, but is very welcoming and friendly to even over nighters. The couple who run the park are great to work with and remembered us even though we have only stayed there for a single night on two different occasions over the last two years. Even though this RV park requires us to go about 16 miles out of our way, we will use Three Springs whenever we are headed south to Texas which we do at least annually. Not a lot of amenities, but a good place to stay with our travel trailer. We camped at Three Springs RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.
