Cape Henlopen State Park, Lewes, Delaware

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicest parks for beaches, crabbing, fishing, walking, bird watching, photography and bicycle riding. Site size vary from tight to spacious pull throughs. Our motorhome was in a tight site while a single woman in her tent was in a pull through. We reserved our site 6 months in advance and at that time we only had a few to choose from. You reserve the exact site you want up to a year in advance. We camped at Cape Henlopen State Park in a Motorhome.

Timberline Lake Camping Resort, New Gretna, New Jersey

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed overnight on our way home in a pull through for half price with Passport America. I don't think it was even worth half price. Nice pool that closed promptly at 6pm. We really wanted to enjoy a swim on this hot evening. The dirtiest mixture of sand and mucky clay was used that day to fill in giant potholes filled with water near our site. The "lake" was as disgusting as the rest of the ghetto. Yes, this is a ghetto. The top of our motorhome was within two feet of a major power line feeding the campground but it was attached to trees and looked like it was installed by Mr. Fix-it himself. No breaker just a 30 amp outlet. Have you ever seen golf carts do doughnuts? Bored Teenagers from the permanent residents across the street. Ever wonder what happened to the old stadium seating? It's here for your enjoyment in the common area near the pool. Just bring something to wipe off the spiders. Enough said. We camped at Timberline Lake Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Lake George Schroon Valley Resort, Warrensburg, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2018
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for two nights on the way to Vermont for the 4th of July week. Our Progressive Industries surge protector would not run with the air conditioning on. It would shut down with the low voltage error code at 104 volts so equipment is not damaged. A call to the desk was answered saying that the manager said to expect these calls and to tell the customer that it is OK for us to run our generator. That is what we had to do. Two employees were dispatched with a volt meter. Between 116 and 118 on our site and three empty next to us. Were told transformers need to be installed in the campground. RV next to us ran his air with no trouble with a cheep Camping World surge protector in line. I could of unplugged ours but risk thousands of dollars in equipment damage. Out of common courtesy for my neighbor I would not start a fire in such a close site. I stayed here for free as part of my Thousand Tails membership. I have come to expect campgrounds like this from past experiences with them. We camped at Lake George Schroon Valley Resort in a Motorhome.

Sea Pines RV Resort & Campground, Cape May Court House, New Jersey

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Arrived on a Tuesday for best site selection because you pick the site here. Most if not all good sites are taken up by permanent residents. I chose 228 because it had sewer and fresh crushed stone. Sewer backed up and was unusable. Had trouble getting electric on at box. Banged breaker a few times. Surrounded by semi permanent residents that smoked and drank loudly till 2am. Very dusty roads. Residents screw tattered flags into trees. If they were campers they would not do this. If they were true patriots they would retire their tattered flags properly in their fire pits. Many residents have breeds of dogs that are not allowed in most campgrounds. I have been here two or three times before as a member of Thousand Trails so I knew what I was getting into. No adult swim or lifeguard so be prepared. While exploring the "resort" try to find the compound with the giant cage. What is it for? Close to all beaches and boardwalks of the Cape May area. Bring bug spray. I will return but I would not pay to camp here. We camped at Sea Pines RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Do not miss a visit to the Cape May Zoo 2 miles south on rt9. Free! Opens at 10am. Get there for opening because it gets too crowded. You will not be disappointed.
