No Name City RV Park & Campground, Sturgis, South Dakota

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived in Sturgis, SD on May 1. 2017 and have spent our time living in The Black Hills at No Name City - until the end of this October. The owners have made us feel like family from the first moment we arrived. Whether personally delivering UPS packages directly to our motor-home door, keeping us informed of the week's activities or inviting us over for a cold, adult beverage, we felt right at home and our business appreciated. Clean restrooms, organized laundry facilities and modern, easily accessible showers represent but a few of the many amenities located throughout No Name City. We enjoyed relaxing in the heated pool (as well as the hot tub), and travelers with kids should enjoy the mid RV Park playground. Located mere minutes from downtown Sturgis, access to all of The Black Hills starts one expressway exit away. Whether you're in town for the night, for the entire season, or looking to enjoy The Sturgis Bike Rally, you'll find the perfect spot to stay, right here, at No Name City RV Park & Luxury Cabins! We camped at No Name City RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Riverside Campground & RV Park, Belle Fourche, South Dakota

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

With a Spring Snowstorm on the way, we stopped for a brief overnight at Riverside Campground in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. Although not yet open for the season, the owners accommodated our needs, provided prompt, friendly service and apologized for not having all the "amenities" up and running. Located three short blocks from Route 85, Riverside provided a strong Wi-Fi Signal and a beautiful view of the River / Creek / Large Stream which flows around the property perimeter. Located walking distance from 'Downtown' Belle Fourche, SD, Riverside sits just far enough from Sturgis, SD to make the drive reasonable. To be honest, cheaper places (right along that same route) exist, but we had no idea of their locations and had a storm rolling in. We probably wouldn't stay here again - simply because a better deal exists right up the road. We camped at Riverside Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park, Pecos, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We were quite surprised to find Tra-Park RV Park in the Escapees Family of Parks, but the pickn's are slim in that part of Texas, so you take what you can get. There really isn't anything 'wrong' with the place. Friendly, Helpful and Courteous service greeted us upon our arrival. We only needed a place to stay for the night that provided electricity. Tra-Park fit our needs perfectly in that respect. Hence, the High Numbers in our review. Quite a number of the residents of this RV Park made their money working in the Oil Business in one capacity or another. For the sheer number of rigs on the property, the place was much quieter at night than we would have expected. Then again, we were passing through on a weekday. Things might be different on the weekends. Again, using the metric of 'Needs Met (or not)', Tra-Park provides a reasonably priced 'overnight' stay in an area where not many options exist. We'd overnight here again if the need ever presented itself. We camped at Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Moon Landing RV Park & Marina, Cross Hill, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We passed through this area of South Carolina just as the Spring Break / Camping Season kicked into high gear. Very few RV Parks / Campgrounds even had an opening. The friendly folks at Moon Landing stepped up and offered us a spot. Moon Landing (and its associated parks) cater predominantly to the 'Seasonal' or Weekend Camper / Boater as many of their parks sit right on Lake Greenwood. The various properties come complete with all the amenities one would expect from High Priced 'Destination Campgrounds' - but the Moon Landing folks provided their brand of Cadillac Service at a Pick Up Truck Price. With only 5 spots in our area, we had plenty of room to walk around and very little traffic. Our spots came with Free WiFi - which Moon Landing upgraded during our stay when one of the campers suggested how to improve the signal. While we never experienced any issue with the WiFi, we felt their prompt attention to a potential problem warranted mention here. Another benefit of staying with Moon Landing RV Park is they provide FREE firewood for the campfires. When our plans changed, and we decided to depart a few days earlier than anticipated, Moon Landing, unsolicited, provided us a rebate for the unused portion of our stay! Amazing. We'd definitely stay here again. We camped at Moon Landing RV Park & Marina in a Motorhome.

Carrollwoods RV Campground, Tabor City, North Carolina

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Nestled in a forested area just a bit southeast of Tabor City, North Carolina, Carrollwoods provides a peaceful, quiet escape from the madding crowd of Myrtle Beach. Located a mere 3.5 miles from the NC / SC Boarder and only minutes from the area's beach activities, Carrollwoods RV Park combines Cadillac Service with a Pick Up Truck Price. Less expensive than the huge, corporate RV Parks on Myrtle Beach, this family owned and operated RV park provides all the amenities needed for an overnight stay, a weekend getaway or a seasonal camper. Plenty of trees dispersed across large, level sites, with a robust cable channel selection - combined with a strong Wi-Fi Signal - make this park one of the best values throughout the area. Endless hot water in the extremely clean shower / restroom areas, a fishing pond and swimming pool round out these excellent accommodations. Not only would we stay here again. We plan to do so next year on our return to the area. We camped at Carrollwoods RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Timberline Valley RV Resort, Anderson, Indiana

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

A combination "Seasonal" Park with plenty of 'deck attached' RV's and Weekend Getaway Destination, this family owned park provides everything an RV Enthusiast might need. Featuring the cheapest Propane refill station in the county, Timberline Valley RV Resort provides the perfect stop for an overnight guest, Ball State Tailgater or season long visitor. For those with the desire to cast a line, the park boasts a well stocked fishing pond: complete with trophy sized large mouth bass. The spacious sites leave acres of landscaped grass between you and the neighbors, and the on-site staff frequently check in to ensure every moment of your stay meets or exceeds expectations. We certainly plan to revisit this park the next time we visit Muncie, Indiana! We camped at Timberline Valley RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Jan's Stall Mall, Leeds, North Dakota

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We spent 10 days at Jan's RV Park during the first part of November 2016. Strong, consistent Wi-Fi top the list of niceties offered by this family run park. Complimentary shampoo and conditioner adorn the pristine shower and restroom area, and Jan herself couldn't be more friendly towards her guests. The place also boasts a large 'bunkhouse' style facility: suitable for hunting / fishing parties or a family reunion. We plan to return to this wonderful gem of a park next season! We camped at Jan's Stall Mall in a Motorhome.

Swenson's Valley View RV Park, Minot, North Dakota

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We visited Minot, ND very late in the season, and as such, limited options existed (many places had already shut off their water supplies) with full hook ups. Although this "No frills" location provided a clean, safe and "easy access to highways" campground, keep in mind that "no frills" means just that. We were the only 'transients' in the entire place. Everyone else had their rigs set up to survive the cold harsh North Dakota winters. However, the long term residents were friendly, helpful and happy to see a few new faces visiting their 'neighborhood.' Clean Showers, Helpful, Professional and Friendly staff combined with adequate WiFi rounded out the positives. Again, this isn't a 'Resort' by any stretch of the imagination, but it suited our purposes for a week - especially since we arrived so late in the season. The place remains open year round with an electrically heated water supply. In a pinch, we'd stay here again. We camped at Swenson's Valley View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bob's Resort, Gettysburg, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Bob's Resort for two weeks during the Sturgis, SD Rally. Although many 'Seasonal' Campers had their rigs in place, the campground remained mostly deserted during our stay. Each campsite in the facility was absolutely huge. Our pull through site could have easily fit two of our sized rigs. The staff maintained the grounds weekly and cleaned the showers and restrooms twice each day - whether needed or not. Located a stones throw from the Missouri River, we enjoyed a relaxing time throughout our two weeks - spending much of our time fishing underneath the Route 212 Bridge for Small Mouth Bass. The on-site Steak House at Bob's Resort provided excellent meals at a reasonable price with wonderful views of the Missouri River. We plan to visit Bob's again next summer when we return to the area. We camped at Bob's Resort in a Motorhome.

Chris' Camp, Spearfish, South Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

A family run park for over 40 years, Chris' Campground sits, quite literally, on the doorstep of The Black Hills. The owners operate under the premise that each guest be treated as family. Whether offering assistance on setting up one's rig or providing directions to a tourist attraction, they make their guests feel as if they have been lifelong friends. Immaculate restroom and shower facilities, two swimming pools and a 'petting zoo' represent just a few of the wonderful amenities provided here. Paved roads throughout the campground lead to gravel or grassy sites with plenty of room for the Big Rigs. We stayed (and currently reside) in Lot #77 which has bountiful afternoon shade and sits extremely close to laundry, showers and a very strong WiFi signal. Each site comes complete with Fire Ring and Picnic Table - with numerous Ramada's spread through the facility for larger crowds. Our site also provides cable TV. Whether you're a family of weekend adventurers, or full timers (like us), you'll certainly find Chris' Campground meets your needs. We, not only plan on staying here again, but also, plan to remain at this location until September. We camped at Chris' Camp in a Motorhome.

Colonial RV Park & Motel , Mandan, North Dakota

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

With an excellent location along with helpful and friendly staff, you really can't go wrong with this inexpensive option. Located just across the Missouri River from Downtown Bismarck, North Dakota - this Mandan, ND facility doubles as both a hotel and RV Park. Sites and roads constructed of gravel, but even with several days of rain, the campground didn't get overly flooded. We stayed two weeks here, and never had a problem with the Wi-Fi. No cable, but plenty of OTA stations available. A family might instead prefer staying at one of the nearby State Park Campgrounds - as there would be more to do - but for us (or any transient workers) this spot works perfectly. A 'Neighborhood' Tavern is attached to the hotel with very reasonable drink prices. We'd stay here again if we returned to the area. We camped at Colonial RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

Alhambra RV Park, Clancy, Montana

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

A recent detour on our way to South Dakota brought us to the attention of this small RV Park. The owner and manager were extremely hospitable. While mostly a self service park - perfect for overnight guests - we planned a much longer stay. Many of the park residents appear to be of the permanent variety, but most appeared friendly. Clean showers, rest rooms and laundry facility exist, but with heavy rains, the gravel sites and roadways transform into rivers and lakes.

A generous cable lineup along with more than adequate Wi-Fi round out the few amenities, but overall, you really can't beat the price for a monthly stay ($360).

Should fate ever again send us a detour this way, we'd certainly stay here again. We camped at Alhambra RV Park in a Motorhome.

Flamingo Lake RV Resort, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a few nights on our way from Key West to Myrtle Beach. While we knew in advance that we would be visiting during the 'off' season, we still very much enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed a wonderful site - directly on the water - numerous staff stopped by to ensure we felt happy with our location, and to see if we required any assistance. From check in to waving farewell, everyone here remained friendly, helpful and professional.

During the warmer months, the place becomes a beehive of activity scheduling events and activities every day of the week. Whether you plan to spend a few days or an entire season, you'll enjoy this park. We camped at Flamingo Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Boyd's Key West Campground, Key West, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

We spent two wonderful months in Key West this year - loving every minute of the spectacular weather. The wonderful Boyd's Staff makes every possible effort to ensure you enjoy the time spent in Paradise. Yes, the lots tend to be a bit small, and yes, the rate is a little pricey, but we know that going in - before each visit - and it hasn't detracted from our stay one bit.

Should one have the interest, activities abound within the park. Card games of all sorts, pot luck dinners, dominos, corn hole and many, many more events fill the calendar throughout the month.

For those who travel full time (as we do), deliveries arrived (either USPS or UPS) without hassle and placed in a section of the gift shop for retrieval at one's convenience.

While the 'full hook up' rate includes cable and Wi-Fi, be prepared for slower speeds when the park fills with guests (as one would expect).

We highly recommend staying here and plan to continue to return to Boyd's every year well into the future. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.

Sunrise RV Park, Texarkana, Arkansas

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Conveniently located and adjacent to I-30, Sunrise Campground boasts some of the most pristine restroom / shower facilities we have encountered during our time on the road. With plenty of open space, and numerous pull through sites to choose from, Sunrise RV Park's proximity to Texarkana (and surrounding communities) provides an excellent location for a quick 'overnight' stopover - or a lengthy multi-month stay. We easily connected to their Wi-Fi Network which provided a strong connection to the Internet, using laptops and smartphones, the entire duration of our stay. Although the campground sits right next to the Interstate, we did NOT find the traffic noise bothersome in the slightest. Occasionally, we would hear a train whistle in the middle of the night, but again, it wasn't an inconvenience in any way.

Our stay coincided with the new owners having assumed the reigns but one week prior, and as such, we didn't have an opportunity to meet them. However, we certainly enjoyed our stay.

One possible downside (which we didn't experience due to the season) might be the lack of shaded sites in the later summer months. Of course, shade or not, RV-ing in late summer across the southern states comes with Heat and Humidity no matter where one travels.

We will stay here again should we find ourselves in the area. We camped at Sunrise RV Park in a Motorhome.
