Clayton RV Park (formerly Clayton KOA), Clayton, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Large park with lots of grass and trees. Some of the sites are pretty run down; used to be a KOA. The electric was good; water is OK. The fenced dog run is very small and over grown. They do offer WiFi and have a restroom and store. It is nice and grassy and shady with some trees. Only bad thing is no cable and only 3 Antenna stations, which are PBS. They have a playground and small rec center; store with DVDs to use. There is a large field next door where I let the dogs loose to run and get some exercise. We camped at Clayton RV Park (formerly Clayton KOA) in a Travel Trailer.

Comanche Campground, Stinnett, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Large campground right off of Hwy 152. All the sites have new electric pedestals with both 30 and 50 amp. There were only two other people here in the park. They have a laundromat in a small building. Payment is on honor system; they have a small building to sign in and leave payment. The water is good and we got great TV antenna reception. Owner came by to talk a bit; very nice lady. We camped at Comanche Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Ole Towne Cotton Gin RV Park, Quanah, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

40 site park with long pull throughs; very level; good for big rigs; also a tent area. Pool, honor system laundry; two bathhouses; cable TV, large Cotton Gin area made into a community center with couches, TV, etc. open all the time. The water was great (well water); electric good. Not too many full timers; park in great condition and the staff very friendly. Small fenced dog park, but I found a dirt road going into farm land to walk the dogs. We camped at Ole Towne Cotton Gin RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Over Yonder RV Park (formerly Gandy's Spring Creek RV Park), Olney, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Small park with new owners (very friendly) working on getting it in shape. The electric and water was good. No bathhouse or laundry. Quiet and well maintained. Some full time residents working in the area. Found a park down the street - walk up to the next street and down to the park where I was able to let the dogs loose. Park also has a small walking trail and playground for the kids. We camped at Over Yonder RV Park (formerly Gandy's Spring Creek RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Lost Pine RV Park, Bastrop, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This place was a concrete jungle. I am sorry I picked this place. Lots of full time residents but very quiet. The water & electric were good. Not very level and had to put 2 blocks on one side to level us out. Parking was strange - had a small place next to trailer lot to park. It was so hot - Texas has been hitting the 100s for the past few weeks and this place just radiated heat. I found a small wooded area next door to walk the dogs which let me out at a church with woods behind it. We camped at Lost Pine RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Hidden Valley RV Park, Von Ormy, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Nicely maintained park with a stream running through the back with a walking trail. The electric and water was good. Pretty big park off the beaten path. Some full time residents, but very nicely maintained. They have a huge area across the street that they own where I found a trail that led through the electric wires to a path used to maintain the lines. I think I saw a wild horse in there and noticed that it is used for hunting. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Hidden Valley RV Park, Del Rio, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Had a nice site surrounded by a wooden fence which we were able to close. Good water and electric. A few full time people here among large trees; very shaded. Nice laundry room and community area. Laundry is honor system but expensive. Had to fill out a form and leave a check. Cost me $12 to do a week's laundry. Nowhere to let the dogs loose. I found a neighborhood next door where I was able to walk which made the walk about 2 miles. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice little museums in town; one within walking distance. Also Val Verde winery that we visited. Make sure you head to Memo's Mexican Restaurant - it is the best in town and the chips are fabulous. Went there twice while in town. There is also a walking/biking trail just over the bridge from the restaurant.

Bent Tree RV Ranch, Lampasas, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Very small park; good electric and good water. Not much to do in town. We just stopped here on our way south. There are some people that live here full time and some who come down and spend the winter. Next door there is a large wooded walking trail where I was able to walk and let the dogs loose. We camped at Bent Tree RV Ranch in a Travel Trailer.

Franklin's Big Country RV Park, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Quite surprised how nice the park is, behind an RV service company. Close to Abilene, we had good wifi and TV antenna. FHU for only $25. The water quality was good; electric good. There were a couple of laundry rooms but no bath facilities that I could see. Quite a few full time residents, but the park itself was kept nice and clean. The only place I could find to let the dogs loose was a wooded area behind the laundry room, which was OK for one night. We camped at Franklin's Big Country RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Post View RV Park, Post, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Nice woman running the place; paid cash with PA. our site was a pull through with good water and questionable electric; the box was falling apart but I always check electric and the voltage was OK. There were lots of full time residents and loose dogs around. There is nothing in the area, and it's just OK for a quick one night stay. Tried walking up the road but there were 3 loose dogs keeping watch at their house, so did not go far. We camped at Post View RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Turner Inn & RV Park, Mountainair, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one night and it was pouring when we arrived. Also full of workers putting in a fiber optics line. We did have good water and electric; sewer was available and Wifi, which we did not use. I walked around the City of Mountainair to walk the dogs, and it was quite a dump, with lots of houses falling apart. The RV Park is very small and the sites close together. It would probably be better if it were dry and the workers not there. We camped at Turner Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

OK RV Park, Holbrook, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Large RV Park with nice sites; the water quality was good; electric good. They offered cable TV but I can't remember if I was able to get WiFi. We only stayed one night so did not use any of the facilities. Right behind the park is a huge area to let your dogs run loose. The only thing I remember is the wind - it was very, very windy when we were there and there was dust everywhere. We camped at OK RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Quality Inn & RV Park, Tuba City, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Run by the Navajo Nation Indians, it is a dry county so you will not find any alcohol anywhere. We had good WiFi on our Jetpack but no TV Antenna service. Our site was nice and level with good water and good electric. They have a restaurant on site, a museum, and store. The people working in the hotel and restaurant were very nice and friendly. They have free "fry bread" in the hotel lobby for the guests to sample. There is a park across the street to walk your dog, but I did not feel comfortable walking anywhere else. We camped at Quality Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Crazy Horse RV Campground, Kanab, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Nice FHU sites with good electric and water quality; Offered WiFi; TV Antenna reception good; pool; small rec area but the billiard tables covers were both torn. Laundry facilities not very good. There are some full time residents but good enough for a few days. Have a few tent sites. There is a dirt road off to the east which connects to a subdivision with access to the Kanab Rim Trail, which was fantastic to walk and let the dogs run loose. We camped at Crazy Horse RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

East Zion Riverside RV Park, Mount Carmel, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is run by the Best Western across the street. $25 per night but if you pay for a week it's $18 a night. The sites are FHU back in on stones; grassy area behind with Virgin River down the hill behind the sites. Laundry, restaurant at BW. They offer WiFi but it was virtually unusable. Cell tower on hill but only for AT&T; no Verizon service. Golf course behind BW to walk dogs. We camped at East Zion Riverside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
