Turkey Point Provincial Park, Turkey Point, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We camped on a Friday night, so if you're looking for peace & quiet, don't look here. We asked for a more private site & therefore took a site without electricity. The site was in the Walking Stick section. The sites near us began to fill up immediately with groups of people, not rowdy per se, but unlike those of any campground we'd ever visited, like weekend campers getting out of some city or other. I had to tell one neighbor to turn the music down; the 6 men across from us were too loud. The site was not clean-lots of little trash like beer caps. Some of the many confusing barrels & crates for recycling were overflowing onto the ground & hadn't been emptied in a while. A mess.

The beach on Lake Erie was quite a ways away, about 1/2 a mile, so we took our cycle.

We never saw a park vehicle drive by our area.

Right near the highway, although there wasn't much noise at night. We would never stay here again. Not a place to have confidence in for a relaxing stay. We camped at Turkey Point Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Smugglers Cove Resort & Family Campground, Milford, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very accommodating staff. Very quiet & peaceful, but friendly folks as well. We stayed there one night, Thursday, and there was lots of choices for a site. Campground accesses a bay of Lake Ontario, & we sat by the water & enjoyed the sunset. Grounds were clean, & there were lots of different recycling bins, which is a moral plus for me. Very pet-friendly & laid-back without being stuffy. We camped at Smugglers Cove Resort & Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Belle Baie Park, Church Point, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 2 nights, right on the beach of Baie Ste. Marie. Quiet and with plenty of space for rig and table. Close to lots of little places up and down the Acadian Coast, and close to Université Ste. Anne and the site of the area's Acadian National Celebration Day, on August 15. Very kind and friendly people comfortable with French or English. We camped at Belle Baie Park in a Motorhome.

Nature Océan Chalets - Camping, Percé, Quebec

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here two nights in a Springer Camping Van. I can't say enough about the ambiance and courtesy of this place

Firstly, it's the quietest campground I've ever experienced. People seemed to be especially courteous in general. Secondly, it offers spacious sites for all. I hate to feel cramped! The management could easily put 3 times the number of campers and tents on the grounds, but clearly chose not to. We looked at other, warehouse-style grounds, some of which are mentioned on this site, but there is no comparison. The campground is across the street from the ocean but still has a lovely view and is on a hill. The higher up, the better the view. Also, the personnel were delightful and were fine with speaking English--no attitude!

The showers were great, with a hand built shelf in the shower for bathing supplies. A community room, good laundry facilities, small barbecues to borrow. I wish all private campgrounds could be like this one.

This was the best private campground we've ever stayed at. We camped at Nature Océan Chalets - Camping in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

5 minutes from downtown Percé and the ferry to Bonaventure. We took the 10 AM ferry to the island and around the Rock, and the 3 PM one back after a great hike and gannet visit, a must for visitors. Plenty of time.

Pippy Park Campgrounds and Trailer Park, St John's, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here in our Campervan for two nights. The location for access to St. John's is excellent - it's a 10 minute ride into the city. This is a large busy park right above the city. We didn't have a reservation, and yet didn't have to move the second night because the staff were looking out for us. We used the washers and dryers, which were fine, and thought the staff were helpful and friendly. A little pricey, but it's city prices and the park is in great demand. We camped at Pippy Park Campgrounds and Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We have a small motorcycle attached to the campervan, and it's a wonderful vehicle to drive all around St. John's to get the feel of the city and find parking. St. John's is a very cool city with lots to do.
