Deer Crossing RV Park (Closed), Ruidoso, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is the best Rv Park we have ever stayed at! And that is saying a lot since we are full timers, and have been across the country and back. Well landscaped and clean. Large property full of little surprises located around the grounds. Always see something hidden in the bushes when you go on a walk. Owners are just wonderful. We were invited to watch a bat being released back into the wild, owners assist in a rescue program. Park is a 50 and over, everyone is so nice. We felt extremely safe here. Totally recommend. We camped at Deer Crossing RV Park (Closed) in a Motorhome.

Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort (formerly Bradshaw Mountain RV Resort), Black Canyon City, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Most sites are back in, and somewhat close to each other. A large percentage of residents arrive every winter and seem to know each other. All of them very nice. You will be invited to campfire chats, and all sorts of get togethers. There is a large rec center, providing games, and a very clean laundry room featuring 3 washers and 3 dryers, standard size. The pool and spa are very well maintained. Staff is always on site and very helpful. They also have RV repair, propane, and RV wash, outside services come in the park to assist guests. Only possible downside is if you stay a month or more your electric bill seems a bit costly. All in all park is safe clean and fun. We camped at Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort (formerly Bradshaw Mountain RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

A Walmart is about 10 miles away, the Anthem. There is also a small grocery store within walking distance. Beni's pizza is pretty good for fast food. There is also propane at the Shell station, the in park service only comes on Tuesday and Thursday, cost are the same.
If you enjoy hiking there are numerous trails in this area. Also many UTV roads to see the desert.
RV park is very busy in the winter months, make reservations early.

Overall Rating:

All I can say is "WOW"! We have never stayed is such a nice RV park! Everything is so clean! Park has lots of amenities, pool, laundry, rec room with pool table, small kitchen and lots of out door games. Rv sites are gravel with a large cement pad. There are privacy bushes on both sides. Hosts are friendly and helpful even escorting you to your site. Amazing place for being off the highway. We camped at Desert View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

East Canyon State Park, Morgan, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The view of the lake is nice. The guests are always quiet after 10pm. Problem with this park are the constant power surges. One afternoon the power was out to the entire park for 5 hours. You have no way to contact anymore. As a matter of fact you are unable to find a single person associated with the park. Phone numbers listed can only be located on line, which is difficult since cell or wifi service is at a minimum. When you do get thru there doesn't appear to be any voice mail. This was a weekday. We camped at East Canyon State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

About 2 miles from the Battle of the little Big Horn.

If you need diesel fuel the closest can be found in the town of Lodge Grass. Seems as if the gas stations with diesel close to this park were either closed down for the season, or just closed.

Devils Tower KOA, Devils Tower, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice place to stay. Wild deer and turkey roam thru the park. There is a small fenced in bark park, play ground for the other kids. You can see the tower right from the park. Store has lots of items, including adult beverages. Park also offers a hay ride in the early evening, includes a history lesson and local wildlife on the ranch, lots of fun. We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Broken Arrow Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Park has campground and horse stables and cabins. All campsites appear to be pull through and are well maintained. All though we do not have horses it was wonderful to walk the grounds and look at all of them. Stalls were maintained daily, we never smelled a thing. Water pressure was a bit high but easily controlled with a water pressure gauge. Broken Arrow is close to the black hills and Custer State park. Park has great laundry facilities. There are tons of DVDs in the office for you to borrow, and they sell firewood. There is a playground for the kids and a large open area. Campground is quiet and safe. Owners are very nice and helpful. We camped at Broken Arrow Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Badlands Interior Motel & Campground, Interior, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for a month at this campground. Issues: during our stay was, the laundry room plenty of washers, but only one dryer, and it didn't function well. Campground WIFI very slow, not sure, you could even connect.

Otherwise the owners and staff were very helpful and friendly. They are very quick in making repairs that happen to occur, due to camper error. This campground is clean, safe and quiet. The majority of camper sites are 30 amp. Water and sewer locations are set up differently per site. Be sure to have extra hoses and electrical cords to reach if need be for full hook up sites.

There is also cabins, hotel rooms, tent camping areas, and Tee-Pees. Swimming pool is small but always clean.

Campground is 3 miles from the Badlands National Park, and has great views, of the park. We camped at Badlands Interior Motel & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
