Baton Rouge KOA, Denham Springs, Louisiana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park and employees go above and beyond to help you. We had to leave 3 days early and they adjusted our cost. Our site was concrete and just long enough for the MH so the Jeep had to be parked cross-wise. We were next to the pool and had gravel between us the the neighbors who were just feet away. This is an easy park to enter and exit with good paving. If in the area again we would definitely return. We camped at Baton Rouge KOA in a Motorhome.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This was our 4th stay here and we were disappointed. The site we were given took 5 attempts to get level with our auto leveling jacks and the front tires were barely on the ground once we did level. It looks like they no longer level the gravel to maintain the sites. We were only staying for one night so did not request another site. The site shares a power post so you are very, very close to your neighbor. In the past the trains would wake us during the night but apparently they are no longer required to blow their whistle so we had a peaceful night except for hearing several planes. If in the area again we would return to the office for a different site even if just there for one night should we run into the same problem. We camped at USA RV Park in a Motorhome.

Shreveport / Bossier City KOA, Shreveport, Louisiana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was very long but there are concrete blocks as you enter the site which makes for a tight turn. There was a metal table and chairs on a concrete pad but there was also a concrete strip as you exit the RV which was about an inch or so lower than the table pad which created a tripping hazard. We were there on a Sunday of Labor Day weekend and by evening the park was very full. Nice clean park and if we were in the area again would return. We camped at Shreveport / Bossier City KOA in a Motorhome.

Wichita Falls RV Park, Wichita Falls, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Long grassy site which was easy to get leveled on. Park easy to drive around in. This park is not the easiest to find, even with a GPS, when coming from the East. We ended up missing our turn and had to return from the West and it was much easier to find. Based on the price we paid at other parks on our trip this one was overpriced but not much available in the area so if returning we would probably stay here again. We camped at Wichita Falls RV Park in a Motorhome.

Blaze-in-Saddle, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Very good value if you are not looking for anymore than a safe and secure spot with good WiFi and level wide spots. There is a small laundry and the day we were there we were told the bathrooms were being worked on so they were not available. Apparently the 3 brothers that own and live in the park have just recently purchased it, so took that into consideration but they definitely need to put down more gravel or asphalt on the sites and road which were very muddy following a thunderstorm. If in the area we would return if the the price remains lower than others in the area. We camped at Blaze-in-Saddle in a Motorhome.

Grand Canyon Railway RV Park, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This park is right next to the BNSF main line so there are trains and whistles both day and night. It is all asphalt and gravel and fills up nightly. It looks more like a large parking lot than a campground. FYI- The cable TV is not available if you have an analog TV according to their instructions. We could not get any cable so they sent a man out who checked the connection which was OK. It turns out that even though our TV is digital and 3 years old the digital tuner is just for over the air stations and not QAM compatible- a quick trip to WalMart for a digital converter and we had good cable. (We only ran into this situation 1 other time in a 3 week trip). I am not sure if I would stay here again but that would depend on what else was available. We'd call another park before making reservations here and they were booked and recommended this park. We camped at Grand Canyon Railway RV Park in a Motorhome.

Midland RV Campground, Midland, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Park roads were in fair condition. One had a water pipe that had raised in the middle of the road bed. Sites are very close to each other. The park appeared clean. There are some large trees but most sites do not have any shade. The fenced dog area was nice. We followed a previous suggestion and did make a reservation weeks in advance. When we arrived, the assigned site was occupied and we were told to pull in at the end of a row and park our Jeep in the road. The gravel had ruts and there was just inches between us and the trailer next door. There was good 30 amp power. There appeared to be many long term residents and they do try to accommodate overnight people even if that means parking you in the road and putting cones out next to your RV. We would not return. We camped at Midland RV Campground in a Motorhome.

River View RV Park & Resort, Vidalia, Louisiana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We were in the older section which has fewer sites. When I made the reservation I was asked where I wanted to be and requested a shade tree. We were on the far end of the row in site 27 and there was no shade tree anywhere near our site. The site was front row, level and long and we had a great view of the barges going up and down the Mississippi. The laundry room is nice but very, very expensive at $3.50 to wash in a triple load machine which only had the capacity of an extra large home washer or $2.50 for a double load machine which was even smaller. The machines rejected the quartesr 3 or 4 times before it accepted it so it took forever to get them started. The lady at the desk came in and stuck a paper clip in the slot to see if there was a problem but there was none. We look forward to a return visit to this park. We camped at River View RV Park & Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great dining across the river in Natchez at Roux 61 for dinner and Mama's Cupboard for a wonderful lunch with homemade desserts (no credit cards). We tried lunch at Cotton Alley Cafe after reading good reviews on TripAdvisor but the lunch was expensive and very disappointing especially the dessert- pecan pie that looked like a boxed pie with thick crust and the vanilla ice cream must have been in the freezer for months because it was all ice crystals.

Hacienda RV Resort, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This was our 4th stay and we would stay again. The office knows how to place people and we noticed they avoided placing someone next to another person when there were spots available unlike other parks that fill spaces all in a row. The laundry room was very clean with an adequate number of washers and dryers. We were even given treats for our cat when we checked in. We camped at Hacienda RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Cajun RV Park, Biloxi, Mississippi

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

The spots are very tight with hardly any room to park your truck. We had to ask the next door neighbor to move his truck so that we could park the 5th wheel. He moved it in front of his trailer and then we could not pull out because the road was so narrow with over hanging tree limbs. Our site was in the front and there was a lot of street noise which was more bothersome than the train. The office is in the back of the park and there were back-in sites with grass in that area rather than dirt and gravel for the pull-thru site. We would not return after learning that there is a new RV park nearby. We camped at Cajun RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort (55+ park), Casa Grande, Arizona

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 9 days but have stayed the winter several times and also owned a Village Home in the park. This review is for a short term visitor rather than a seasonal visitor. The resort is geared for the long term visitor rather than for someone visiting for a short time. The negatives are that there is no Wi-Fi and no picnic tables. The internet service is by subscription and you need to contact Dish and also own a modem. There are activities and entertainment, etc. in the winter months but unless you purchase your tickets well in advance they are sold out before you arrive. We did have Thanksgiving dinner there but only by reading the newsletter and seeing that the cut off date was the day before we were to arrive and then calling the resort with a credit card were we able to get tickets. The water is so bad tasting we needed to purchase water to drink. The resort is very nice and we will continue to return if in the area. We camped at Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Outdoor Resorts of Chokoloskee, Chokoloskee Island, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

Each site appears different in size, parking surface and landscaping. Our site was totally paved for parking both 5th wheel and truck, on a corner, across the street from the water, and had lawn. The roads are very narrow and the turns very tight and we were just able to navigate our 34 foot 5th wheel without hitting trees or fences. A $20 cash deposit is required for the gate card. We used our satellite but we were offered a cable box. The resort entrance is up the highway from the registration office which has no place to park when you register. We made the mistake of pulling in next to the office and then had to back up onto the highway. No one escorted us to our site and the map was not easy to follow. We camped at Outdoor Resorts of Chokoloskee in a Fifth Wheel.

Bluewater Key RV Resort, Key West, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $115.00
Overall Rating:

Each site is a little different and appeared to be different in size. Our water front site was concrete all the way across where some the RVs were parked on rocks or bricks. The docks all appear to be different. Each site has a wooden picnic table plus different outdoor furniture depending on what the owner had done. Our site had a round table for 4 plus a rectangular table for that could seat 6, 6 chairs, a sink, a tiki hut and outdoor cupboards all on a raised wooden deck. Some of the sites are only for a Motor Home and others like we had have hookups on both sides to accommodate either 5th wheels/ trailers which back in or Motor Homes which are driven in facing the water. It was windy during our entire 4 day stay and apparently this occurs frequently because the huts have wind screens. We found that when there was another 5th wheel next to us, on the driver's side, the spacing between us was acceptable but when a Motor Home was placed in that spot they were very close with slides out. This is a great location for visiting Key West and the nicest park we saw in the entire Keys. The one negative we found was that there was no air conditioning in the laundry room. We camped at Bluewater Key RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Treasure Coast RV Park & Campground, Fort Pierce, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for 2 nights and would consider a return visit to the park it is so nice but we found very little in the area to bring us back again. The park managers were friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome. We had no trouble with the width of our site which included a concrete pad as wide as our 5th wheel and truck parked side by side and there is nice lawn on each side of the pad plus we had a large area of lawn behind us. The free Wi-Fi worked well but was a little slow at times even early in the day and with a park that isn't full. We saw sites that apparently have stored RVs on them and the man next to us says he lives near but stores his 5th wheel here because the rates are so reasonable. These sites did not have items except steps stored with the RV. The entire park is very clean and well kept. There is a small lake in the center of the park with RV sites around it. We camped at Treasure Coast RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Orlando / Kissimmee KOA, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We had a very long pull-thru site. The sites are not very wide and are close together but because of the length and with them alternating pull in direction there is nothing next to you on either side. The park is very clean and has little road noise even with its location across from Sam's club and near a busy highway. The edges of the patios next to the pad were cracked in all the sites we saw but still level and usable. The turn into the park comes quick and is narrow and sharp and the roads in the park are OK. The sites are not angled and turning into them, even with an escort, required us to drive on the lawn with our 34 foot 5th wheel. Our stay would have been perfect if it were not for loud noise coming from the cabin near us at 4:30 am on our last night. We camped at Orlando / Kissimmee KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
