Nugget RV Park, St. Regis, Montana
Date of Stay:
August, 2012 -
$37.00
Overall Rating:
Don't forget they have a pool also. I ditto other reviewers. We traveled farther than we'd planned this day so we did an 'einy meiny miny mo' when we got to St Regis. So after we are here I'm reading reviews. No, you can't see it from I-90; what a lovely area with walking paths, bark park, and friendly staff. Wi-Fi works well (4 connections popped up for me). Owners have put much work and pride into the well-organized level sites and still maintain a semblance of the original contour of the area. Take your 'pups' to say HI to 'ol digger: that damn dog.' We camped at Nugget RV Park in a Motorhome.

Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch, Big Timber, Montana
Date of Stay:
August, 2012 -
$37.00
Overall Rating:
Quiet, lovely with trees, agreeable hosts. Approx 2 miles S of town, narrow cattleguarded entry. I considered it too pricey with no sewer, plus it was $3 more than their website advertised. We had a grassy pull-through site, not level (we needed to pull our front tires off ground to level our 40'). Some 'river sites' are just gravel parking-lot type sites, a couple of MH were pulled in facing river so to make common-companion area between two friends traveling together. If you take Left on 4th Ave (off Business I-90 coming from East), then another Left at McLeod St (you're heading South) you don't have such a tight narrow turn on McLeod 'right downtown. Downtown is about 2 blocks! I agree that BT is a 'tired' town but the Grand Hotel is a destination dinner establishment for us. We camped at Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch in a Motorhome.

Massacre Rocks State Park, American Falls, Idaho
Date of Stay:
May, 2012 -
$12.00
Overall Rating:
What a lovely State Park! I hate to 'advertise' this quiet, peaceful park near I-86 as I'd like to 'keep it for myself.' This park does honor SR passes (1/2 price) on weekdays. The Snake River here is navigable with motorboats and kayaks; lots of hiking trails and history. Definitely worth a night or a week's stay. We camped at Massacre Rocks State Park in a Motorhome.

Las Vegas RV Resort , Las Vegas, Nevada
Date of Stay:
May, 2012 -
$29.00
Overall Rating:
Park is neat and has some vegetation and trees, so it is more than a parking lot. Convenient access to I-15 and strip, hence my higher rating. We didn't use spa, pool, showers, or laundry but they were clean. Pet areas need improvement - they are tiny; only one ice machine; need more trash containers; need to install cable TV. Yes, there are some long-term residents, but their places are neat. Compared to other LV RV parking-lot style spaces, both this RV & the 'other RV' just to the South are better and bigger and better values. We camped at Las Vegas RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nehalem Bay State Park, Nehalem, Oregon
Date of Stay:
September, 2010 -
$24.00
Overall Rating:
Another beautiful SP on the Northwest Coast of OR. Just 5-7 minutes over a dune to ocean, and 10 minutes via paved bike/hike trail to Nehalem Bay, from which large crabs were pulled while we were there (need a boat though)! Lots of Shore pines, and huckleberries, blackberries for your picking pleasure. Hiking/biking abound here. Manzanita is a quaint little village. We camped at Nehalem Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

Cape Lookout State Park, Tillamook, Oregon
Date of Stay:
September, 2010 -
$24.00
Overall Rating:
Best thing about this SP: it's just a 3 minute walk to ocean. FHU are too few so we had to move sites during our stay to a primitive site; next time we'll choose a primitive site in the long loop (A&B) parallel to beach for more room. VZ card for internet worked fine. Oh, with a big rig go THROUGH Tillamook toward Netarts (there is a cut-off just before Netarts proper). The 101 South to the Sand Lake Road (like google directed) is narrow, windy and dippy: very hard on nerves and rig. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Motorhome.

Emigrant Springs, La Grande, Oregon
Date of Stay:
September, 2010 -
$22.00
Overall Rating:
Several sites are maximum 47' so 'yes' to Big Rigs (we are 38' + toad). We did unhook at check-in, but we've seen other rigs drive through w/dinghy. Nice and shady when hot, in cooler weather stay the night at the bottom of Blue Mountains, just South on I-84 at Hilgard SP (primitive but right off I-84 also. When I consider the private parks, I do not consider this a tight maneuver. Immaculate RR and showers; yes, there is traffic noise, but lots of Oregon SP are on Interstates. At least they offer camping. My home state, WY, should take lessons in RV tourism. We camped at Emigrant Springs in a Motorhome.

Elephant Butte Lake State Park, Lions Beach Campground, Elephant Butte, New Mexico
Date of Stay:
October, 2008 -
$14.00
Overall Rating:
I agree w/other reviews, we stayed in Lion's Cove A64; camp host was VERY pleasant to us. If you're unfamiliar w/camping area, I'd sure get here in daylight .. big rigs stay on pavement as sand is soft, and many 'roads' and/or 'loops.' Pads are mostly level but sloped (some steeply) to back-in. Grand views, quail, coyotes, bunnies and we had night-time quiet too. We camped at Elephant Butte Lake State Park, Lions Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

Supply Park COE, Fort Supply, Oklahoma
Date of Stay:
October, 2008 -
$9.00
Overall Rating:
$9 (w/62+ pass)..best park ever; part of park closes Oct 1. Most all loops have lake view, year round loop has waterfront, no sewer but dump at COE office on top of the hill. I don't rate *10 often, but this is THE park. Covered tables, fire pit, separate grill + cook table (neat feature), only downside: some sites aren't level enough for us 40'-MoHo's w/o taking a tire off ground. Big 5ths OK since axles are together. Peak season probably needs reservations. We'll be back and stay longer here! We camped at Supply Park COE in a Motorhome.

Hunter Cove COE, Republican City, Nebraska
Date of Stay:

$9.00
Overall Rating:
Well, it takes a lot to be a Corp of Engineers park ($9 w/62+pass) and each one is better than the last. Paved access, gravel-level sites for big rigs. Room to roam, lake views (some are on the lake) only few water sites, but many w/ele. Quiet, Week ends a bit busier but still room, Relax and watch! We camped at Hunter Cove COE in a Motorhome.

Nice little city park behind zoo..go to zoo, but Left instead of the zoo parking lot. NE has lots of cheap, nice city parks ..check 'em out. Paved pathways for exercise and friendly town. We opted for 1 night, and stayed 2 to explore! We camped at Riverside City Park in a Motorhome.
