Liberty Harbor RV Park, Jersey City, New Jersey

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $110.00
Overall Rating:

It's all about LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Sites are really close and on gravel. Can be very tight for 45' coach to get in and out if park is full. Power poor but we made it through with a few outages. It was 95 degrees when we were there which didn't help.Barely any grass on which to walk your pet. The ferry has moved so it's about a 15 minute walk over to it and longer to the Path (subway to NYC). We will always stay here because of the convenience to NYC and mass transportation, just don't expect to have a lovely "camping" experience. We camped at Liberty Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.

For the ladies, Saks on Madison Avenue is the best of all their stores. Lots of help there too. We loved our lunch at BH Kitchen & Bar on 49th across from Saks. We were told it's the best burger in town but we had over plates and they were superb.

Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC), College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

The perfect park in which to stay for visiting the DC area. Buses come into the park and drop you at Metro station. If you don't have kids I would suggest you ask for a site far from pools and cafe. It stays really busy in that area. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the National Pentagon Memorial and Arlington Cemetery. There is a Metro stop at Pentagon and one at Arlington Cemetery. You never have to drive your car out of the park for touring! The Air Force Memorial is also near the Pentagon 911 Memorial but probably a good 15 minute walk away. With advance notice, you can try for a Pentagon Tour (2-12 week advance sign up because they run a background check). Clearance/confirmation takes a long time. White House tours are about the same way.

Flory's Cottages & Camping, Ronks, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small but immaculately kept park just one street off Hwy. 30 and very convenient to local sites. YES the sites are close together and YES they are strong on rules. We liked that because it helps keep the park a nice neat and quiet place to stay. Though we don't use the restrooms at parks, It had the cleanest restrooms I've ever seen. The owners were very gracious and helpful. They suggested that we be good "backer in types", which we are and had no trouble parking our 45' rig. If you have kids, I would suggest going to a larger park with more amenities for kiddos. There is not much space to walk the dog but presented NO problems. There are a lot of trees so you may not get satellite. Cable is available but it may be an additional charge. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! We camped at Flory's Cottages & Camping in a Motorhome.

Don't miss the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum which is across the street from the Strasburg Railroad. It is the largest collection of train engines, passenger cars, etc. that we have ever seen. All are in excellent condition and inside air conditioned building.

Hollywood Casino Hotel & RV Park, Robinsonville, Mississippi

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

It was a little difficult to figure out how to get into the RV park. It is behind the right side of the hotel. We parked at the RV park and then went in the hotel to register for parking even though we already had reservations. They told us we needed to pick out a spot and come back and pay. There were not many pull throughs and those were all taken even though the park was not busy. The park was clean the utilities worked fine and, depending on which site you choose, it was a pleasant stay. There is nothing else to do in the area and a bit out-of-the-way if you were just passing through. We camped at Hollywood Casino Hotel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Dub'l R RV Park, Brinkley, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This little park is mostly seasonal or permanent but everyone keeps an immaculate site. Owner lives in home on site and was very friendly. When we called ahead there was only one site open so be sure to call. (870-589-0850) Park is about 4 miles off 40 and roads going through town are narrow but manageable. Going Eastbound on 40, take exit 216 not 202 as our GPS suggested. Turn right on 49 then after 3 miles turn left on 49. As soon as you are on top of bridge slow to turn left at 2nd drive. If coming in at night be careful of culvert when turning into park. Pull in to the right to go around pole barn. No amenities but satellite and Verizon worked fine. Grass for pets. We camped at Dub'l R RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very small yet conveniently located park with pull through sites. Good for overnight stay along the road. We had a great steak at the country club restaurant Spices On The Green. The owner and his wife were chef and server and a delight to meet. I don't think you could find a better meal in town. A bit pricey but well worth it.

Pacific Pines RV Park & Storage, Florence, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice little park for the area with landscaping. If you have pets, be aware there is NO grass and a very small dog run. The park staff was super nice. Even though we had a pull thru, it would not accommodate our tow but the staff had a very convenient place for tow. The roads are tight if you have a 45' rig, but doable. We camped at Pacific Pines RV Park & Storage in a Motorhome.

Gilgal Oasis RV Park, Sequim, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small campground but such a breath of fresh air with green grass. The work campers who ran the park were awesome and showed a lot of concern for both park and customers and also very knowledgeable about area. There were a couple of ladies there to watch your pet should you decide to go to Victoria for the day. If you are a big rig, you will want the pull through sites but recommend you back in because the turn into the site would be very difficult. There is little area on which to walk your dog but it is kept clean. Verizon was good here. We camped at Gilgal Oasis RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the ferry to see Buckart Gardens, Victoria BC. You can book transportation to the gardens when you are on the ferry which will include ticket to the gardens. If you want to eat in the tea room restaurant, make reservations as soon as you arrive. DO NOT take your auto. I would not suggest shopping near the ferries. Very much touristy and $$. The gardens were worth the whole day trip.

Hoquiam River RV Park, Hoquiam, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

A lot of extended stay trailers here but, all in all a decent park which accommodated our 45' motor home. The staff was very friendly. We Enjoyed the river and small dog trail. There was a community fire ring. Very poor town but we went to the rain forest. We camped at Hoquiam River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Silver Cove Resort, Silverlake, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The owners have dumped a huge amount of money into the roads and buildings here. You will have no problems maneuvering any rig. The office staff is very friendly. There are separate areas for extended stay and short term people. There is plenty of grass on which to walk your dog and boat rentals for the small lake. Great location for seeing Mt. St. Helens. WiFi is spotty at best and Verizon no good. Our only complaint is, for the size of this place and its sites, landscaping is lacking. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Motorhome.

Puyallup Fair Grounds, Puyallup, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We gave it an average rating because it is really just a grass field with hookups but at least it is easy for a 45' motor home to get in and out of and is conviently located behind the fairgrounds. If fact, we would stay here again if in the area. At least the price was right and cell service was good - Verizon. You choose your site when you arrive so if not busy, there is plenty of room to spread out. We called ahead for reservations. We camped at Puyallup Fair Grounds in a Motorhome.

Maple Grove RV Resort, Everett, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

BEST FOR AREA! Sites here are very close together but if you let the wonderful staff in the office know your specific requirements, it is doable in a 45' Prevost which we have. There is no grass or true dog walk area but none in area is better. WiFi was very good. You won't find a cleaner park anywhere and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Yes, it is expensive but, when compared to your options in the area, we were very happy here and other renters were friendly and seemed to care about one another. You could eat off the floor in the bathrooms and, for that matter, the paved asphalt streets and concrete pads were immaculate as well. The sites are wide enough to park tow along side but very snug. We backed our rig into the pull-through. We camped at Maple Grove RV Resort in a Motorhome.

See Chihuly Glass Sculpture and Gardens in Seattle even if that is the only reason to drive into city! Etta's Restaurant is $$$$ but worth it if you go to Pikes Market. Suggest reservations even for lunch.I suggest a 2 hour food tour which can also be booked online. Out of state visitors can sign up for temporary (14 day) $$ toll pass.
