Punderson State Park, Newbury, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $36.00

I had a site right on the lake. Cement pad, fire ring, brand new picnic table, full hookup with no issue. Fully shaded. We camped at Punderson State Park in a Motorhome.

Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort, Estes Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Right at the entrance to Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park. Has free shuttle into town. A bit dusty, not a lot of grass and trees but who cares? We came for the mountains! We camped at Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

WaKeeney KOA, WaKeeney, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

I can't say enough good things about the hosts. I left my surge protector at the site and they immediately responded and are mailing it to me! The campground is right off of I 70 but we didn't notice any noise. It's summertime and we have had our AC running, anyway. Sites are level. Full hookups well maintained. Showers and bathrooms are nice and clean, as well. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Motorhome.

Lake Eufaula State Park, Checotah, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one night instead of the two nights we planned. Site was dirty with trash and dog excrement. We walked down to the lake and there was a dirty diaper on the shore along with other trash. The sites are fairly level and shaded. Sewer hookups lacking covers. Yecchhh! We were very disappointed. We camped at Lake Eufaula State Park in a Motorhome.

Sand Creek Campground, Chesterton, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Indiana Dunes State Park was full so I ended up staying here. I was under a tree and the site was fairly level. The owner said the hiking trails were closed due to limbs being down & the pool was closed because of recent treatment with chemicals. I didn't use the facilities because I was alone and a little spooked by the obviously lived-in trailers that were very unkempt. Not all of them were that way, but at least three were a mess. It's obvious they're trying because they've built new cabins and new bath houses, but why put your money into that if you're going to leave all the construction rubble behind? The owner told me to look for my own site and if the electric box says OK, it works. Well, I looked and there were no signs anywhere. Fortunately, a worker came around and he tested it for me. Sure enough, dead. So, he tested another and that one was fine. There's a playground for the kids and a pool but it wasn't open. All in all I wouldn't say it was a bad visit but I sure didn't want to stay another day or night. I wouldn't recommend it. We camped at Sand Creek Campground in a Motorhome.
