Savannah South KOA, Richmond Hill, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We often choose KOA when we're on a tear and need the campground to be convenient to the expressway and predictably good. This one was no exception. We were packed in pretty tightly with snowbirds heading back up north, and up until dark there was a steady stream of vehicles arriving. But this was to be expected, and KOA handled it in their usual efficient style. One pleasant surprise was a lovely lake with beautiful white swans swimming on it. Would like to have had time to take a walk on what looked like a logging trail behind the campground. We camped at Savannah South KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The best part about our brief stay was a nearby restaurant that the KOA staff recommended, called Local on 17. My husband and I both had petit filets, which were delicious. The portion sizes were perfect, and by that I mean NOT designed for a lumberjack. Enough to fill you up but still allow you to sleep.

Country Oaks RV Park & Campground, Kingsland, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second overnight at Country Oaks, and we were equally pleased. We were able to get a pull-through with full hook-ups on relatively short notice, as severe storms were headed up from Florida. The staff is very helpful and competent, and the grounds are well-maintained. Dog walking is pleasant because there's a lake on the property, and there are horses nearby. Like many Good Sam parks, there was a fairly sizable semi-permanent population, but it was not the least bit off-putting. We camped at Country Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The woman who registered us guided us to our spot and provided the names of all the local restaurants (both chain and individual) plus clear directions to get there. We chose Longhorn Steakhouse. The woman's husband had driven an RV to Alaska and gave us useful tips about that. We appreciated these folks very much.
