Flory's Cottages & Camping, Ronks, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Good location for area attractions. The campground is congested and the sites are all back-ins. Parking is difficult at times. But for the most part it is a quiet park adjacent to Amish farmland. We camped at Flory's Cottages & Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Country Acres Campground, Gordonville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Lots of room for big rigs, but the sites go fast, so book early. This is one of the nicest parks in the Lancaster area. They have a beautiful pool and another nice new restroom building. We camped at Country Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Close by outlet shopping at Rockvale and Tanger Outlets. Farmer's Market and antiques in Bird-in-Hand just a few miles away. For pizza and Italian, check out Pizza City in Strasburg and for good old-fashioned home cooking visit Katie's Kitchen near Strasburg. In the spring check out the local fire department Mud Sale auctions.

Nice little campground. Quiet and relaxing. Sites are close together, but lots of older travelers so it's not crazy. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out the Andy Griffith museum. Lots of TV and movie trivia. Visit the Snappy Lunch to enjoy the pork chop sandwich for lunch, but get there early (around 11:30) to avoid the crowd. They close shortly after one. Enjoy a great little downtown area. We had dinner at 13 Bones and it was very good and reasonably priced.

White Oak Shores Camping & RV Resort, Stella, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Most of this park is permanent park models, but they offer a nice grouping of pull thru sites for short stays. We had a beautiful grassy, level, clean site. The park is busy on weekends when the permanent residents come in. There are some nice activities offered on the weekends, but the pool is overcrowded and the golf cart traffic picks up. It was much more relaxing and pleasant during the weekdays. This is a beautiful park. Extremely well cared for. We camped at White Oak Shores Camping & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We found a great restaurant at The Boathouse. Topsail Island is only 20 miles north and well worth the drive. We found a couple of free parking public beach areas there. Bit of a drive to get to the beaches, but close to Publix, Walmart and dining options.

Richmond North / Kings Dominion KOA, Doswell, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

The park was easily accessible off of I-95. We only stayed overnight on our way to North Carolina. Site was paved, but not long enough to stay hooked up. Must mention that when we connected to the water hookup, all you could smell in the RV was a distinct sulfur smell. We used deodorant in all the drains and the smell faded after about an hour. But it gave us second thoughts about ingesting the water. We camped at Richmond North / Kings Dominion KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
