AB Camping & RV Park, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

It was nice to have on-site BBQ - food was plentiful and delicious. RV site was very basic. Wyoming is very windy so we were not able to sit outside. We camped at AB Camping & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Cheyenne is a great little city. Definitely recommend taking the city tour from the Rail station in downtown Cheyenne. Lots of history. The Frontier Museum is worth the visit. Love the public art - giant cowboy/cowgirl boots are great fun. Mostly fast food places to eat so it was great to have our own BBQ at the RV site.

Estes Park KOA, Estes Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Very busy park, lots of family activities, access in and around the KOA was awkward. We had a site that had an inaccessible picnic table. Very close to downtown and the Rocky Mountain National Park which was great. We were able to park most places fairly easily with our 25' motor home. Very helpful and friendly staff. We camped at Estes Park KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Estes is a lovely town - enjoyed the restaurants along Big Thompson Avenue - the pie shop, the Notchtop had great range of meals and take out food that fit any budget. The visitor center has a number of restaurant menus available as well as info on trails, special events and things to do. The tram is a bargain and worth the wait in line. And add the Stanley hotel as a place to visit to see grand vistas.

4 Eagle Ranch, Wolcott Co, Wolcott, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We did not read the website info as closely as we should have. This is a ranch that has many amenities for guests including a wine bar, cabins and some food until 3pm. But it has only ten RV sites which they rightly bill as "RV Parking" as the sites have only 30 amp electric. No water or plumbing at the sites - a spigot is in walking distance but not easy for rig access. Spots are interfaced with tent campers. It is set up for keeping people busy and entertained at the ranch but seems new to the whole RV idea. OK for an overnight stay but if water and plumbing are necessary, go elsewhere. We were evacuated due to fire so did not actually stay overnight. People were friendly but would not recommend unless you need to just park for the night. We camped at 4 Eagle Ranch, Wolcott Co in a Motorhome.

This is in Wolcott which is about ten miles from the nearest town for restaurants or shopping. The town of Edwards had a number of eating and shopping places.

Tiger Run RV Resort, Breckenridge, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $106.00
Overall Rating:

This is a resort where sites are rented from owners through the main desk. We had been evacuated from the Durango fire and stayed here two nights (one night for $90 and the second nite for $106). Expensive yes, but we were on the river, it was quiet and clean and close to downtown Frisco and Breckenridge. We were some distance from the clubhouse where the showers and restrooms and other amenities were so we used our rig. We camped at Tiger Run RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Frisco was charming. We were able to park our 25' RV on the street and enjoy the restaurants and shops. Same was true for Breckenridge - easy to get around and park. Great restaurant in Breckenridge was the Blue River Bistro.

Pelican Point RV Park, Half Moon Bay, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Closeness to ocean is the best feature of this park; nice cement walkway to the Ritz Carlton surrounded by golf greens and the ocean breezes. Park itself is small with very tight sites; check-in staff is helpful and friendly, store has limited but necessary supplies (no milk!) and DVD rentals. Laundry is clean, restrooms and showers could be better cleaned - cobwebs in evidence. Excellent cable. We used Uber to get to Sam's Chowder House and the Green Leaf Market - great must visits between any beach combing. The town itself is very crowded on the weekends so visit during the week if possible. We camped at Pelican Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a beach city - nice restaurants, main street, beach access. Do get reservations to Sam's Chowder House - lobster rolls and chowder are terrific. The Green Leaf Market's salads, sandwiches, desserts are exceptional.
