Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned), Denali National Park, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

While this park does not have lots of frills, what it does have is peace and quiet and great service from the attendants (and laundry). Sites are basic gravel with picnic tables - many have shrubbery screening though. Some (like ours) have views across the valley which was nice. In comparison to the other opportunity in Denali village, this place is the Ritz. A big deal for us is that for $15, they will walk your dog twice while you are out for the day on those long Denali Park bus rides. Our site was really nice along the back edge facing a hedge which gave it nice privacy. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We found the most special part of mountain viewing was in the evening. That seemed to be when the clouds cleared the most - and of course, the sun practically never sets.

Northern Rockies Lodge , Muncho Lake, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We liked being here a lot. Yes, there were some compromises. If you have one of the lakeview/lakeshore sites - it is heavenly. The other sites are just parking, but you can go down to the lake and sit and enjoy the views. The lake and background mountains are "to die for" in beauty. Wifi was adequate in campsite and in the lodge area, it was "good." Dinner in the lodge was both romantic and excellent for food and service. We camped at Northern Rockies Lodge in a Travel Trailer.

River's Edge Resort, Fairbanks, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

We were excited to stay here until we arrived. We had booked 6 months in advance and requested an end site. We were not given one on arrival until a great amount of back and forth and an upcharge. We then inquired about Internet they provide. They point you to TengoInternet. We then inquired about the cable TV they advertise. Alas, it is not working and they have no idea when it will be. The end site we finally had was terrific! We had great Internet off our Verizon Jetpack (4 bars LTE) so we did not suffer on that count. Tailgater will not work at these latitudes it appears. Air antenna pulled one channel. Interior sites are very tight, so the end sites are very important. We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Palisades RV Park, Palisades, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

The whole setting is lovely and just a quick walk to the Palisades River. We had great luck fishing. Satellite and our private internet worked great too. The electric pedestals are shared with two sites so some nights we shared our front door side of the trailer with the front door side of a motor home who had to drive in instead of back in. The park is a combination of a row of RV sites and rental cabins toward the street end. We found excellent space to run the dog. Note that you do not park your two vehicle right in front of the trailer. It is to be parked off the grass a little ways away. We camped at Palisades RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The drive along Palisades Reservoir (a ways upstream) is breathtaking as is the drive into Jackson hole. One can make a loop by returning thru Teton pass and Victor, ID.

Point of Rocks RV Campground, Prescott, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The park is quiet and adjacent to trails to nearby Watson Lake. That part is just terrific. Sites do not have concrete pads which makes things pretty dusty but do have picnic tables. Our site had quite a bit of trash that we picked up for them. There is no dog walk except the trail to the lake. (Prescott does have a public dog park, however). We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Jacob Lake Campground - USFS, Jacob Lake, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is just the best. Lots of Ponderosas, but still got great satellite TV and Verizon reception. There are no services which is fine, but (!) beware - your fridge may not work on propane because of the altitude. The camp is at 8,400 ft. Firewood is available and the night skies are just dazzling. We camped at Jacob Lake Campground - USFS in a Travel Trailer.

Bauer's Canyon Ranch RV Park, Glendale, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The setting is lovely with grass between each parking spot and many Fremont cottonwoods. We did not, however, have a problem getting satellite TV. Wifi is provided free of charge and (!) works quite well. Baths are clean, but, they are worn, outdated, and older, but lots of hot water. We camped at Bauer's Canyon Ranch RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sunland RV Resorts / Circle RV Resort, El Cajon, California

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The whole place is run down. The dog facility is terrible! The staff, depending on who is there, range from downright hostile to disinterested. It appeared that more than 50% are full timers - which is fine but not a very resort type of feeling. The pool was always full of children. We camped at Sunland RV Resorts / Circle RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Mountain Valley RV Park, Tehachapi, California

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We found this to be the sweetest of parks, rustic but with full hook-up. Being outside of town, the stars were just brilliant! Each site has a picnic table and some shrub/tree screening from the space next door. We camped at Mountain Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Mountain Valley RV Park, Tehachapi, California

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Small park next to glider plane airfield. It is quiet with nice shade trees but open enough for good Verizon and satellite TV. Because it is out of town, the stars at night are spectacular. We just loved the quiet and rustic atmosphere of this park. We camped at Mountain Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Harborview Inn & RV Park, Garibaldi, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The boutique park is right at the water and the commercial dock. It is just lovely! A bit pricey, but very nice to stay at. Management could not be more helpful. One draw back is that the picnic tables are on the back side in many of the sites. One great thing is the nice waterside walk and short distance to the grocery store. We camped at Harborview Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Go fish ... it is wonderful. Also, the fish and seafood sold right at the marina is just terrific. Lastly, the scenic railroad is just delightful.
