Gatlinburg East / Smoky Mountain KOA, Cosby, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

It would be very difficult to be negative in any way about this camp ground. We booked by 'phone and when we arrived we were warmly welcomed and escorted to our site. Full hook up with excellent WIFI. I understand there is also cable but we choose not to have a television set. The bathroom and laundry facilities are very clean and still in brand new condition. Drive ways and sites are gravel with outdoor tables and fire pits and plenty of trees for shade - very beautiful in fall. It is an uphill pull from road but we did not need 4WD even though we were on one of the higher sites. The sites have been levelled. We stayed three nights and enjoyed the walks in the NP and visiting the nearby areas. Highly recommend. We camped at Gatlinburg East / Smoky Mountain KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Emerald Beach RV Park, Navarre, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Purpose built camp ground with lots of Class A units. We were provided with an excellent site with lovely water views. The camp ground is beautifully maintained. When there was no hot water in the men's showers a service company was promptly called, the problem rectified, and my husband was notified. Excellent concrete pads, with separate gravel car parking and each site has a grass area. We camped at Emerald Beach RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Great swimming pool, small private beach area with sun loungers and shelters. A beautiful facility. Only negative we had was that there were so many dogs (each site can have up to 3) and they were all walked and watered in the grass area opposite our camp site. The camp owners need to fence off an area for the dogs so that other campers do not have to watch them. Community room was locked and not available for use when we stayed - not sure why as camp was very full.

Jude Travel Park, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The camping ground is really just a parking area for your RV in a secure gated environment. There is a small swimming pool but no other recreational activities. The bathroom facilities are modern and were very clean - some of the cleanest facilities we have found. Good laundry at reasonable cost. Full hook up but very limited space between RV's with some awnings touching slide out of next RV. WIFI available but drops out constantly. Bus service from directly outside camp ground to city provides excellent and cheap service which we used. We camped at Jude Travel Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The owner met us on arrival and escorted to site - possibly very necessary to assist some to back into small tight sites and was happy for us to get settled and have lunch prior to making payment. This camp ground provides a perfect inexpensive option for RV travellers and we would definitely stay again if in the area.

River Walk RV Park, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We understand the owners have recently taken over the camp and it was very run down. If that is the case and they are working on improvements we wish them good luck. Combined shower and toilet facilities need work - only two out of four working and could be cleaner. Sites are reasonable size and again in the process of being tidied. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.

There is a pool and laundry but we didn't use them. Hookup to power, sewer and water was easy. Cable tv available. Excellent Internet - the best we have had in four months of travelling. We camped at River Walk RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Topeekeegee Yugnee Park / Whispering Pines, Hollywood, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Camping ground within a large council owned park. The camping area is well set out with concrete drive throughs or back in sites, and concrete patio areas. All full hook up. Some have view of lake, which cannot be used for swimming. Excellent laundry facilities. Camping fee gives access to the water park which is wonderful. Some consider train noise invasive however it did not concern us at all. Security on site and regularly drives through camping area. Highly recommend this camp. We camped at Topeekeegee Yugnee Park / Whispering Pines in a Travel Trailer.

Raccoon River Campground, Panama City Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We did not have a reservation but received a friendly welcome, offered seniors discount and given choice of site. Site has lots of pine needles and cones as there are huge pine trees. Walking distance to the beach, two pools and children's playground. We camped at Raccoon River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Sites near Middle Beach Road have quite a bit of road noise. Be aware that pine cones fall and may land on trailer roof or a person.

St. Petersburg / Madeira Beach KOA, St. Petersburg, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Unfortunately the older lady who served us on arrival had absolutely no customer service skills - she did her job but did not make us welcome or show any sign of friendliness. If there had been another choice nearby we would have gone there. Drive through industrial area is also a little off putting. Site was fine, with concrete slab and full hook up. Pool was great. Rubbish collected from site. Lawns were cut but clippings were not picked up which was a shame. Lots of wildlife. Views of the lake were nice. The park had few customers when we visited. We camped at St. Petersburg / Madeira Beach KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Naples / Marco Island KOA, Naples, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

There were very few campers staying - we did not prebook. Sites are quite narrow and have concrete slab with picnic table. We had a lot of tropical storms and storm water pooled on the sites and driveways. Pool and spa were wonderful as were laundry facilities. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay again if in the area. We camped at Naples / Marco Island KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Farm Country Campground, Williamston, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We only stayed one night as we passed through however we were most impressed with the facilities offered. The campground is very rural and what it lacks in glitz it makes up for in excellent presentation and facilities. The pool is superb, the children's playground new, all sites full hook-up, plenty of grass, and friendly service. Sure the facilities look as though they are in a shed but do not be put off - they are new and perfectly clean. If in this area certainly give this campground a visit - it is not full of permanents and holidaymakers are more than welcome. We camped at Farm Country Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Try the pool - it was wonderful on a hot afternoon followed by ice creams purchased from the office/shop.
