Cicada Springs RV Park, Killeen, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Great Park! Family owned business and super nice folks. The owners gave good directions to the nearest grocery store. The park has all concrete pads plenty long and wide enough. Quite a few of the sites had sheds over their rigs but there are lots of trees that help with cooling in the summer. Quite a few military families there since it's near Fort Hood. The grounds were immaculate. The park backs up to a city park with trails and walking paths. The RV park visitors have access to this park via a gate code. Love this park and will stay there again if in this area. We camped at Cicada Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground, Yuma, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This park was surprisingly more than we expected. Conveniently situated Just off I-40. The park has two entrances. If you have a long rig, take the second entrance. Almost missed the sign for the first steeper entrance. The people are super nice and helpful. The escort was great and ensured we had everything we needed. Offered to escort us out if needed but we had plenty of room. Ordered a pizza from the office for dinner and they brought it to our site. The grounds are beautiful with a pond and pergola with a swing to watch the ducks. Lots of room for the dog to play. We would stay there again if going that way. We camped at Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Lynchburg NW/Blue Ridge Parkway KOA (formerly Wildwood Campground), Monroe, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice quite park with friendly accommodating staff. There is no cell service except Version. The staff provided Wifi codes for two devices which helped. If you're coming in from the north off I-81 south you might want to find another way around. Drove 20 miles on very narrow and crooked roads over the mountains with lots of switchbacks. Not fun in a 40 ft motorhome with a Jeep in tow. We camped at Lynchburg NW/Blue Ridge Parkway KOA (formerly Wildwood Campground) in a Motorhome.

Harrisburg East Campground, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Love this park! The staff was super nice and helpful. the whole park is shaded. Plenty of big rig sites. Paved interior roads are wide enough. There is a big sign that points toward the campground. The building at the sign is NOT the office. Go up the hill to get there. We camped at Harrisburg East Campground in a Motorhome.

Abel Mountain Campground, Braintree, Vermont

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice and quiet park with beautiful river along the back of the campground. The staff was very helpful about things to see and do. Quite a few seasonal sites but they were well kept. Only issue was no cell service but they provided WiFi codes for 3 devices free. You could add more for a fee. We camped at Abel Mountain Campground in a Motorhome.

Cold Springs Camp Resort, Weare, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $81.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very large campground with lots of activity. Most of the sites were seasonal and the residents and guests get throughout the park in golf carts. We were here Memorial Weekend and it was so crowded you could hardly get to your site for all the kids on bicycles and the golf carts. This is a huge community of weekenders that leave their rigs here throughout the season. They had lots of staff that were very helpful. Interior roads are very tight. Had to unhook the tow to make the tight turns up the hill. We camped at Cold Springs Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Take the Cog Rail up to Mt Washington. Very interesting. Bring heavy coats. It's windy and cold at the top and foggy the day we were there. It was 70 deg. at the bottom and 30 deg. at the top. Nice visitors center and snack bar at the top.

Bar Harbor / Oceanside KOA, Bar Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large park with lots of room between sites. We were several rows back from the water but could still see the ocean. The sunsets were beautiful. The staff came by on golf carts several times and answered any questions we had. The laundry room was clean and accessible. We camped at Bar Harbor / Oceanside KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Acadia National Park is a great place to visit and explore the area. Lots of scenic drives including Cadillac Mountain. Get a map at the Visitors' Center and follow the main points of interest. Thunder Hole is a good place for photos. We also took a guided Lighthouse and Acadia NP boat tour which was well worth the price. The Fish House Grill is right by the boat and has an excellent Lobster dinner.

Hemlock Grove Campground, Arundel, Maine

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Nice shaded park and nice folks. We usually try to get pull-thru sites but these are all back-ins. They were easy to get into and plenty long enough for the tow. The office staff was most helpful in recommending things to see and do in the Kennebunkport area. We camped at Hemlock Grove Campground in a Motorhome.

Normandy Farms, Foxboro, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful Park! This was the nicest park on our trip. Grounds were well manicured and landscaped. Plenty of room between the sites. Bath houses with laundry were conveniently located through out the park. The dog park was spacious and secure for rover. Staff was very helpful. There is a tight turn coming from the hill to the exit gate but not bad. Lots of activity opportunities for fun and games. We camped at Normandy Farms in a Motorhome.

Fla-Net Park, Flanders, New Jersey

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The entrance to the park is a little tight. We finally found the office to check in but we had unknowingly past our site. There was no place to turn around with our tow. The staff directed us to go out of the park, get back on the freeway and start over. We finally got to our site and found the water valve broken. They did come and replace it quickly. The only dumpsters were at the entrance and not close to the camping area. This park is mostly filled with seasonal or long term units. It's okay for a layover but we would not stay there again. We camped at Fla-Net Park in a Motorhome.

Riverside Campground & Resort, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

First time to stay at this park and loved it. Easy access from I-40 and not too close to all the traffic in town. Very easy to get out to the attractions when you want too. The park is super clean and the staff if very helpful. We had a long shaded pull-thru with plenty of room for 40 foot motorhome and jeep. There are some seasonal or permanent sites but they are well maintained and away from the RV sites. There are lots of cabins overlooking the beautiful Little Pigeon River below. We plan on staying there again on our way back home. We camped at Riverside Campground & Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Dollywood has a great show called Dreamland Diner. Lots of singing and dancing with music from the 50's to the present. We also took a side trip to Dandridge, TN to the Bush Bean Museum and Family Cafe. Be sure to watch the movie of the factory tour. We tried their Pinto Bean Pecan Pie! Doesn't sound good, but it was great.

Safe Harbor RV Resort at Elm Hill, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This new resort was very beautiful with the lake visible from most sites. The staff was helpful and the campground was clean. We thought we had reserved a pull-thru but it turned out to be parallel parking next to a rock wall. We had to go all the way to the end and turn back to get to our site. Would have preferred an escort to find our site. There was no trash pick up at the sites. You have to walk or drive up the hill to the dumpster. Would stay there again in a different spot. Just needs a little tweaking to make it perfect. We camped at Safe Harbor RV Resort at Elm Hill in a Motorhome.
