Reno KOA at Boomtown, Verdi, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Nicest staff ever. Clean pool. Unfortunately the electrical was so bad we had to run our generator for air conditioning. My coach just shut down when the voltage dropped. Might be okay for lower end rigs prior to computerized rigs. I could view the voltage on each leg. At one time I had 105 on one leg and 100 volts on other on 50 amp service. Tried 30 amp even worse. Electrician even came out and said just too many people for and old system. Park is in fair shape but very old. We will never be back and post this so others will have heads up on electrical status. When we arrived raw sewage was dumped on our site. Mixed bleach and water to clean. Not the parks fault but clientele is not the best. Lots of full time sites. Busy as it was Hot August nights. We camped at Reno KOA at Boomtown in a Motorhome.

Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

First time coming to this park I decided on a deluxe site because I wanted extra room for my tow vehicle. I have a 40-foot motorhome and would have had plenty of room for the towed vehicle in the standard site but I chose a deluxe site. The only advice I would give anyone coming years to ask for a site as far away from I-15 as possible. Our site was not too close to I-15. We were right by the pool. They have an adult pool and a pool for kids which is a nice feature also. There also is an area for no pets which is nice for those people that do not have animals with him. Staff here was very friendly and check-in was pretty easy. The only negative I see is the check-in is the same lane that you have to enter if you go out of the park and if it a lot of people are checking in it's difficult to get in. They have cable TV which is not digital so I chose over the air which I got about 15 stations. I also had a site that was good satellite reception for my rooftop satellite. There are some trees in the park so ask for a site according to your needs. In my opinion this is the best park to stay in in Las Vegas it's easy to get into and out of on the south side of the strip and out of the heavy traffic areas. They offered me numerous discounts and I happen to ask if there were any additional discounts and got an out-of-state California resident discount which took 20% off my bill. So ask when you check in. We camped at Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort in a Motorhome.

McArthur's Temple View RV Resort, St George, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 5 nights. Visiting friends that moved here and going siteseeing. Very close to downtown. We had lots of room between sites when we first arrived. Here on weekend of iron man event. Even when park got full it was very quiet. As mentioned cable TV requires special box and access to rear of tv. However we received all major stations with antenna OTA in HD. AT&T cell service excellent. Great satellite as park has few trees in the way. Pool and spa very clean. Great areas to walk pets. Super friendly staff. Yes there are a lot of park models in the park as this is a snowbird area like a lot of southwest parks. Fairly empty of snowbirds in May. 50 amp power water and sewer all worked well and had area right next to motorhome for parking tow vehicle. Yes you are close and manuvuring a 40 ft. motorhome through park and getting into site requires caution. We would definitely stay here agan if in the area. We camped at McArthur's Temple View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Ruby's Inn RV Park and Campground, Bryce Canyon, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

First off I have to say I don't know where a lot of these people are getting their rates at $40 a night when they're staying in the premium big rig sites. According to the office there are no discounts. We paid for the cable TV water, electrical, sewer and Wi-Fi. However the WiFi is very bad. It is in and out and does not stay connected for some reason. I really enjoy the large premium sites with the large grass area. Once summer gets here it will be very green. We had enough room for our motorhome and our towed to stay hooked up but we unhooked and did not have enough room to park the Suburban beside the motorhome. Also we had the grassy area and an area for a picnic table. They did not skimp on the size of these premium lots whatsoever. We felt it was well worth the extra money to have the space. All of the premium big rig sites are satellite friendly also. We were given a site which gave us a good view of the sunsets. We camped at Ruby's Inn RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Portal RV Resort and Campground, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

There are actually two parks within this park. The first is an owner type Park but they do have spaces to rent but you must meet strict requirements for your motorhome or 5th wheel. We stayed in the campground. Seemed a little weird to have special services for the resort people and kind of treated other people like second-class individuals. Other than that our site was nice and level it was a back in sight had 50 amp service sewer and great water pressure. The wi-fi at this park is one of the few that works relatively well. A few of the other campers we're fairly rude as far as noise and late night activities. One thing about Park is on event weekends it can get very noisy. I imagine all the parks in the area can get loud with all the ATVs and so on. Another negative thing about this park and various other Parks throughout getting in and out of the park on the weekend can be very intense. Traffic is very very heavy in Moab and the infrastructure does not meet the demand for the people in the area. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Monument Valley KOA, Monument Valley, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

. As other people have said it is a really new park. The owners are very friendly and the staff is very good. There's really nothing special about this RV park as the sites are on gravel. They have a picnic table Fire Ring 50 amp service. Good water pressure and water and good sewer connection. The views are fantastic unfortunately we were in a 50 amp site which is on the back row with other rigs in the way of your view. This is a very easy park to get your big rig in and your towed vehicle. This is why we chose the parking convenience of where it was at ease to get in and modern electrical connections. We camped at Monument Valley KOA in a Motorhome.

Lone Rock Beach - (NPS), Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $7.00
Overall Rating:

This park is located about 1/2 mile on Highway 89 into the Utah border. This is more like a boondocking type Campground that has a garbage dumpster RV dump and some pit toilets. However for what you get there are outstanding views available. You can park down near the beach where it is very soft. Or you can park up on top with no problem. However we parked in the middle on an area that was very level with a good view and Solid Ground. We attempted to stay at another park with full hookups but they were full. You cannot beat this camp area if you don't mind dry camping. The road below the top parking area is a little rough but in our 40-foot Monaco motorhome we drove down slowly and had no problem. You are about 10 miles from the town of Page so plan accordingly. There are no services at this area. We did have good AT&T cell phone coverage. There are no numbered sites so the maximum number of RVs would depend on how much space was available. We counted approximately 75 rigs not counting some tent campers. We had absolutely no one near us. We parked where it was very level and there are many areas that you can find that are perfectly level. We camped at Lone Rock Beach - (NPS) in a Motorhome.

As you approach this Campground from the north be aware you are on a downhill grade and the speed limit is 65 miles per hour and the turn off comes very quickly. If you have off-road vehicles ATVs motorcycles and so on there is an area which you are allowed to use these vehicles at.

Islander RV Resort, Lake Havasu City, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived on a Saturday and there were a number of sites available. We chose a pull through where we had no one on either side. Their busy season is in the winter months. The site was huge 50 ft long by 36 ft wide. There are many areas to walk with your pets in the resort. It is laid out with a number of the sites using Park models. Most of the premium sites that have water views are taken. We did not choose a premium site because there were none available with a lake view. We used the pool and spa and they were very clean. However one pool and one spa for a place that has 500 sites is quite a load on the facility. Also as mentioned by other rvers the one trash receptacle area is ridiculous. The resort itself I believe is the best in the area however. We have stayed in nicer parks for less money. We camped at Islander RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Port San Luis Harbor District, Port San Luis, California

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Been driving by this area for a number of years. Always wanted to stay on the Bluffs even though it is dry camping. So we finally got with some friends and got sites 29 and 30 which were extra wide and really nice. I have a motor home so I faced right at the ocean it was beautiful. We were lucky enough to have a concrete picnic table in front of us. The views were outstanding. The negatives is all the traffic going to Diablo Canyon. At about 4 a.m. it begins and doesn't let up for an hour or so. We run a fan all night long to muffle the road noise. I'm really glad we stayed here but after 2 days and getting woke up pretty early we were ready to go. If you need full hookups there are some down the road as mentioned by other review people and also up on the cliff before you get to the dry camping area. Avila is a very nice area as compared to years ago. We camped at Port San Luis Harbor District in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for one night. We were given a pull through site with nice grass and Patio area and the picnic table. The hookups for easy to get to and worked well. It is located right in town so maneuvering a big rig around the area is a little bit tight. However the roads inside the park were way wide enough and easy to navigate. Yakima River RV Park, Ellensburg, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 3 nights. I think it is the best park in the area. It is a very clean park with grass and trees around you. We chose a site with the full hookups. It was $3 a night more but well worth it. We originally were only going to stay two nights but could not find another decent park near where we were going. I would highly recommend this park if you are anywhere near this area. There is a train track but never were bothered by loud noise. Whistle seemed to stop at night. Sites are fairly close but the way they are situated works well. Would definitely pick this park if in the area again. We camped at Yakima River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here 25 years ago. Really enjoyed it then. But now mostly full-timers or seasonal people living there. Sites. very close to each other very tight turns for 40 ft motorhome. The entrance barely accommodated my motorhome with my satellite almost touching the beams. Cars and trucks were parked in all the other stalls not even rvers. Will never return to this park to stay again. We camped at Coeur D'Alene RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Bonner County Fairgrounds, Sandpoint, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicest RV parks in a fairgrounds that we have stayed at. The sites and roads are all paved with grass at the sides 50 amp power and ample fresh water. We also have a picnic table. Our side was open to a view to the west of a mountain range with beautiful trees. The park has some shady sites throughout but our big rig had to go in a more open site. I would absolutely stay here again. AT&T mobile service was good and the Wi-Fi service work well for us. We are near many restaurants and stores and within a few miles of the beach at the lake. Trout Creek Motel and RV Park, Trout Creek, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

What a great little Park. We had a huge pull through site 138 ft long wow. We had sewer electrical and water. We had a 30 amp site which was sufficient to run one of our air conditioners and met all our needs. It was a nice grassy site with trees all around us. Funny thing is we still got satellite on our roof top of our motorhome. Only negative was that we could not have a charcoal BBQ because of fire restrictions in the area but that is well understood. This is one of the nicest RV parks we've happened to come across on this trip. I would highly recommend staying here anytime. You should try and make reservations if it all possible because it is not a very large part. We camped at Trout Creek Motel and RV Park in a Motorhome.
