Columbia Riverfront RV Park, Woodland, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is for unobstructed long pull site with clear views of Columbia River. Read the rules before visiting this park. Didn't realize there no motorcycles allowed and no exceptions. Staff did find me a off site storage facility for one week stay. Staff works yard to keep area watered and clean. Beautiful flowers and large grass areas in the park. Good asphalt interior roads with easy access and rock at sites. Very quiet and peaceful and good views of Columbia river and surrounding hills. We camped at Columbia Riverfront RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Thousand Trails - Whalers Rest RV Park, South Beach, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Staff was very helpful and suggested an open pull thru site reserved for rigs over 38 feet during peak season. Appreciated sites reserved for rigs over 38 feet as many of the sites are short and narrow. There is a walking path from park to highway 101 and state park ocean beach just across highway 101. Indoor pool was nice and good store on site. North part of park had good WIFI and you could purchase cable with over 100 channels. Lots of trees and shade on most sites. No Verizon phone or data service. Roads were one way and gravel which created lots of dust. We would return to this park. We camped at Thousand Trails - Whalers Rest RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

WillowWind RV Park, Hurricane, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is monthly plus electric. Asphalt roads with concrete pads. Most sites had grass between sites and lots of shade trees. Good cable and WIFI. In town within walking distance to restaurants and grocery store. Easy access and short distance to Zion. We liked this park and will return. We camped at WillowWind RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access to interstate with mostly long pull thru sites. Staff friendly and helpful. Park on a mesa with walking path around park and nice views of the surrounding mountains. Sculptures and old equipment was interesting. Plenty of clean restrooms and showers. Concrete slab with either picnic table or small metal table. Good antenna TV (PARK DOES NOT HAVE CABLE) and small trees do not restrict satellite. Interior roads and RV sites were all gravel with no grass. High winds and traffic create lots of dust. Weekly pull thru rate plus tax $41 but normal one day rate of $48 seemed high for a park with no cable and no activities or children area. We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lots of museums and art galleries in Santa Fe. We bought a North American Reciprocal Museum membership which allows one year entrance to a thousand museums across the country. This allowed access to 10 museums and galleries in Santa Fe.

Oasis RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is weekly discount. Great rv park easy on and off interstate 40 with wide asphalt roads and concrete pads but far enough from interstate to avoid noise. Most sites are pull thru with nice picnic tables and rock area between sites. Three separate buildings that include private showers, restrooms, and laundry. Washers and dryers were just $1.00. Would rate a 10 but they don't recycle and spa isn't open until memorial day. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Thousand Trails Lake Whitney, Whitney, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $3.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects 50 amp charge for thousand trail membership. Few 50 amp sites and some did not have sewer. Lots of sites covered with black plastic bags having electric problems but they were working on some sites. Roads in bad condition and many sites weren't level. Spread out with over a mile between office and children pool and the adult center and pool. Buildings old but clean. Park had lots of activities over spring break and a restaurant on site. Lots of trees for shade and two pools probably a nice place in the summer. Many trees and some sites hard to get into because of all the trees. Our fault but lost our awning to one tree. Watch out for the trees. We would come back to this park. We camped at Thousand Trails Lake Whitney in a Fifth Wheel.

Goldfield RV Park, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is weekly for premium back in site. All sites are gravel and very narrow. Sites 20-26 are long back in sites far enough away from street to avoid some of the street noise. Site 20 was long enough for 43 foot fifth wheel and just wide enough to park truck and 3 wheel motorcycle in front of fifth wheel. Some of the back sites are along major highway 24 and very noisy. Cable worked and new WIFI was good. Good water and electric. Campground is close to restaurants and shopping in Old Colorado City and not far from Garden of the Gods. Staff friendly and helpful. Sites are narrow but this park was full during our stay. We would look elsewhere if visiting Colorado Springs. We camped at Goldfield RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sundance RV Park, Cortez, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Rate monthly rate and no electric charges. Good asphalt interior roads reduced dust. Friendly work campers and clean restrooms. Most sites had shade and some had small grass areas. Various size back in and pull thru with room between sites. Our site had plenty of room for 43 foot fifth wheel, truck, and three wheel motorcycle. Minus was the gravel dog area was not fenced and no pool or children's area. There was a large shaded grass area at the front of the park. We liked this park and would return. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park), Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Very old park and mostly a mobile home park. Passport America rate of $11 plus $2 for 50 amp and $2 for cable. Laundry and rest rooms very old, but liked the $1 washer and dryer. Rough asphalt road with gravel sites. Small covered picnic table and long pull thru sites. Good electricity and cable. There was traffic noise, but at this price would stay here again as a stopover to another location. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Red River Ranch RV Resort, Thackerville, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $7.00
Overall Rating:

Resorts of Distinction discount but paid $2 for pull thru, $3 fifty amp, and $1 for WIFI. Roads to site are asphalt and sites level with hard crushed rock. Staff is super friendly and helpful with free coffee in the morning. Some very long pull thru sites (enough for 38 fifth wheek, truck, and motorcycle trailer) and easy on and off access from I-35. We camped at Red River Ranch RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Augusta West Kampground, Winthrop, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Old smaller campground but buildings and landscape in good condition. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Approximately 60 percent are permanent campers. Campground is right on the lake but most water view sites are taken by permanent campers. They do rent canoes and kayaks and would be a good place for fishing. Campground has some shaded areas and very limited number of 50 amp and a few long pull thru sites. Campground road had horrible potholes on road into camp. They did drag the road before we left which made the road bearable. We camped here because it was a good Sam Park but campground would not give the 10% discount unless you paid in cash. Never experienced this from a Good Sam park. We camped at Augusta West Kampground in a Fifth Wheel.
