Colorado Heights Camping Resort, Monument, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We were a little disappointed. Upon checking in we learned that all the amenities were closed; pool, games room, hot tub, adults lounge. Apparently they close them after Labour Day each year, that's not listed on the website or when you call up so the kids were very disappointed. They could at least keep the indoor things open as they aren't effected by weather and would be useful to use in bad weather but I think they cut the staff right back. They also close almost all the bathrooms. We asked to be close to the laundry and for good wifi use and so we were close to the bathrooms at the laundry which are still open. The wifi is good from our site when it works. I think this would be a great RV park in the Summer as far as what they have on offer goes but they should advertise that nothing is on offer from September onwards. The bathrooms are a little odd, the taps and showers have strange turn on systems. We've travelled for 5 months and these are the oddest. Plus you can't alter the temperature in the shower. We're not too bothered by the road noise on our site but I can see why lots of people would be. People who checked in at the same time as us lowered their stay from 7 days to 2 based on the fact all the facilities were closed and their site was near the road. I'd stay here again from late May to September but not off season. We camped at Colorado Heights Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Corral RV Park, Dalhart, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

It's the only thing in the area so here we had to stay. I'm surprised it has such a high rating. It's just a concrete and gravel lot with a few trees and very little in the way of amenities. Very friendly staff who are third generation running it. Tiny bathrooms and laundry which function but only just. The train noise went all through the night. Wouldn't stay again. We camped at Corral RV Park in a Motorhome.

Texarkana RV Park & Event Center, Texarkana, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a fairly new RV park which they are still developing. It had the best restrooms we have seen, all individual with toilets and very large tiles showers in each. There is a laundry with 2 each of washers and dryers, this is in the same building as the games room. The pool is next to the office and is very nice. The wifi is good when it works but it is very intermittent. The staff were average. The office is not open half the time and one of the residents checked us in, I think he was the caretaker. I'd stay here again but try and get closer to the bathrooms as the office were we were near is about 4 minutes walk to the bathrooms which was a bit far to carry laundry etc... We camped at Texarkana RV Park & Event Center in a Motorhome.

Magic River Resort, Long Beach, Mississippi

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

It was only $18 but that's all you got for the money. The staff member who signed us in was a little abrupt and condescending. The restrooms are one each for males and females, they each have a toilet and shower in them. Small and average to use but clean. The pool was out of the way but it was nice enough. A small camping ground and it was quiet when we were there. Maybe stay there again if nothing else was nearby. We camped at Magic River Resort in a Motorhome.

Triple C’s Campground & RV Park (Formerly Chattahoochee/Tallahassee We, Chattahoochee, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We found this a nice campground and very quiet. The staff were some of the friendliest we have come across. The pool was nice and the grounds were very peaceful to walk through. The office is where the restrooms and showers are and it is clean enough. There is a small book swap in the office area and many travel brochu. We camped at Triple C’s Campground & RV Park (Formerly Chattahoochee/Tallahassee We in a Motorhome.

Outdoor Resorts at Orlando, Inc., Clermont, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here while going to and from Disneyworld which was only 15 minutes away. The staff were very friendly especially the guard house staff. It's mainly snowbirds who arrive in October so it was very quiet when we were there. Almost 1000 sites but only 40 of them are RVs, the rest are fulltime trailers. 8 bath houses, 2 pools and a large club house where you can get good free wifi. You can't get it from your site. Mini golf and other activities for free. Everything was very clean and tidy. You can not come in after 10pm in an RV so remember that if you only have the RV to travel in and plan a late night. Happily stay here again. We camped at Outdoor Resorts at Orlando, Inc. in a Motorhome.

Ponderosa RV Park, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

The park itself was clean and tidy but very tightly packed fulltime, long term and campers. The pool was large and heated. The laundry room was a good size but very busy constantly. The sites are very narrow, gravel and concrete. The staff was average, not that friendly and the wifi wasn't free. The restrooms were clean and the showers were nice. The road traffic was very loud. Don't think I'd stay here again. We camped at Ponderosa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Walkabout Camp & RV Park, Woodbine, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our two night stay here. Good pool, rec area and tv room. Very friendly and helpful staff. I wouldn't use the toilets but the showers were fine. The water however has a strange smell to it that we have seen a couple of other times on our travels, almost like sulphur so I wouldn't drink it. The site was flat, close to others but the WIFI where we were (just across from the office) was very good so try to get a spot close to the office if this is important to you. Happily stay there again. We camped at Walkabout Camp & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sherwood Forest RV Resort, Kissimmee, Florida

Overall Rating:

Friendly, helpful office staff. Free wifi at club house only but it is very strong. Great pool and hot tub. Stayed 4 nights while visiting theme parks. Good laundry with 6 each of washers and dryers although it is card operated. I'd stay there again. We camped at Sherwood Forest RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Al Sihah Shriners' RV Park, Macon, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Filthy showers and restroom. Rang to ask them to clean it. Watched them go over there for ten minutes. Shower stalls still covered in dead bugs. Ants up the water hose. Roach on the bed. Spider on the steering wheel. Bugs exist everywhere but in 4 months full time we've never seen anything like this. Wouldn't stay here again. Not even worth $10 for the power and water. We camped at Al Sihah Shriners' RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nashville KOA, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice stay. Small but good clean pool. The bathrooms and showers were fine if a little small. They had a swapping book library in the office and a large laundry. Our site was flat and the road noise wasn't too bad. We were just passing through and never usually spend more than $30 a night but nothing was available at short notice. Not sure I'd stay here again at $39 but it was nice enough. We camped at Nashville KOA in a Motorhome.

Picture Lake Campground, Petersburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our one night stay here. The pool was huge and well used by us to cool off. The laundry is under the office and has 4 of each washer and dryers and room to fold washing. The restrooms were fairly new and very clean and modern. Yes, there were many full timers but they were friendly and the sites weren't run down. We'd stay here again. We camped at Picture Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Greenbelt Park, Greenbelt, Maryland

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great place to leave RV and explore D.C. Metro is a half hour walk away. Easy to use but make sure you have $5 notes handy for the machines. Two toilet blocks but only one has a shower. Dry camping so don't expect electric water or sewer. No wifi but tmobile worked fine here. Very pretty setting. Apparently they still have ticks but we weren't bothered by any. Great option close to DC. We camped at Greenbelt Park in a Motorhome.

Timberland Lake Campground, Jackson, New Jersey

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This was an OK stay. Just one night. Huge pool. Bathroom clean. No laundry. Run down and seemed to be lots of full time people. Was fine for passing through. Overheard people asking to move because of snakes at their site. Not sure I'd stay there more than a night though. We camped at Timberland Lake Campground in a Motorhome.
