Acton / Los Angeles North KOA, Acton, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was very friendly and helpful. One of them even drove me around in the golf cart to check the available sites and pick the best one for my rig. The pool was great, clean and perfect temperature. They even have a night security guy at the entrance, nice to have even though this seems like a very safe area. The store was very well stocked with a good variety of items. They have a shelf full of dvd's for free loan. They have outside movies projected on Friday and Saturday night. The site was very large and easy to get into. The wifi was good all day and into the night. For some reason the wifi never worked in the waking hours, but always started up shortly after sun up. I use a EMS (electrical management system) and monitor my voltage very closely. The 50 amp service needs to be upgraded. During peak hours of the day one leg consistently dropped to 104 volts, the other leg had no such drops. Mid week when the park was less full the voltage didn't drop as much. There is a train track very close to the park. It seems some engineers blast the horns to upset the campers. Many trains didn't blast the horns. There is no grade crossing that I could find that would require blasting the horn. We slept fine leaving the fan on our roof air to drown out the train horns. The park clearly has no control over the train engineers so this shouldn't be held against the park. There is also almost no Sprint cell signal, again not the fault of the park owners. The ground is dry and dusty, high desert. Not the fault of the park owner. We camped at Acton / Los Angeles North KOA in a Motorhome.

Great site, plenty of room. Pool was nice but dated. New pool is being constructed right now. Laundry was also being rebuilt so not available for us during this stay. Staff was very friendly. Store was pretty well stocked. We camped at Moab KOA in a Motorhome.

Very friendly staff. Clean sites. Good electrical. Salt water pool was excellent. They have a pizza restaurant that delivers top notch pizza right to your site. And the pizza was great. Very affordably priced too. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Lake Fairfax Park, Reston, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here from end of June to July 3rd, 2015. Very friendly staff making reservations. She got me a great site, very long to fit my 36' motorhome with 31' trailer all together. Clean grounds. 50 amp was not working, my EMS showed the leg 2 was 4 volts. They took 7 days to finally get a person to fix that. They tried to claim it was fine. I showed the kids that came out to check it with their adapters and test plug why that wouldn't show the fault. The manager didn't seem to understand the problem and kept putting me off. They did correct my bill down to the 30 amp rate. But we were not comfortable with only one roof a/c running on the hottest days. No wifi and no data signal from Sprint. No water and sewer at the sites wasn't a real problem for me since I've got huge tanks. We camped at Lake Fairfax Park in a Motorhome.
