Acadiana Park Campground, Lafayette, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park has very narrow roads and mostly short asphalt. Water and electric hookups are distant to the sites in some cases. The park appears very neglected. It is gated requiring a code to get in and out. We would probably not stay here again. We camped at Acadiana Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Meaher State Park, Spanish Fort, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

The campground was extremely clean. The person checking us in was helpful and efficient. The sites are very widely spaced so there is a feeling of privacy. The sites are paved and level. There are no fire pits but there are tables and grills at each site. There is a lovely view of the bay and nice piers for sunset views. The campground is between I-10 and 90 so there is always some highway noise, but it is not overwhelming. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Blythe Island Regional Park Campground, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The site was very clean and very large. This was a full hook up site. The fire pit was placed a nice distance from the RV parking area. We were able to get Verizon and a few over the air channels. The sites are quite shady and there is a good amount of vegetation between sites which gives adequate privacy. There is cable hookup. It is a good place to stay to visit St. Simon's Island and Jekyll. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Rainbow Valley Campground, Edmonton, Alberta

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We were charged $40 for 15 amp service which was quite inadequate for travel trailer. Lots of potholes and mudholes. The dump had huge mud hole making it impossible to get out of vehicle without stepping in water. I would not return. We camped at Rainbow Valley Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Poole Knobs COE, La Vergne, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are very shaded. Many sites had very uneven entrances and pads. The overall impression was that it needed a bit of upkeep. Some sites looked good. The views of the lake are nice. We camped at Poole Knobs COE in a Travel Trailer.

Johnson Creek COE, Durant, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

The biggest negative about this campground is its proximity to highway 70 which creates a lot of traffic noise. We were in site 50 which is the closest to traffic noise. Some of the other sites are further from traffic and closer to lake. The grounds were somewhat neglected with fire pits having trash in them. Our Verizon and Dish tailgater worked well. Some sites were very shady, but ours was fairly open as it had the boat launch area on one side. There are no trails for walking. The person who checked us in was very helpful in that she allowed us the option of choosing any open site even though we had a reservation. If you Re traveling east on highway 70, as soon as you exit the bridge that crosses the lake, there is a small brown sign on the right that says Johnson creek. The turn is to the left and it is easy to miss. We camped at Johnson Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Supply Park COE, Fort Supply, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

We were in site 19. It was a back -in on the lake. The site was asphalt with a cabana and table on concrete pad. We had lots of grass space with fire pit. The grass was mowed. You could fish right from the campsite. We had good Verizon service and satellite. We would stay here again. We camped at Supply Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Ute Lake State Park, Logan, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This park is destined more like a private RV park, except there is plenty of room between sites. They are very long pull-through with tables and cabanas. We had water and electricity. We had good Verizon and satellite service. We camped at Ute Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bluewater Lake State Park, Prewitt, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We drove here expecting to stay, but then after driving around the only loop with electric, we decided it was too tight. Also, to fill up with water in a Rig our size was going to be tricky. We were traveling in a 30 ft 5th wheel. The drive in was beautiful but very steep in places. The campsites were not well-groomed. This campground would be much better suited for smaller campers. We camped at Bluewater Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Elephant Butte Lake State Park, Lions Beach Campground, Elephant Butte, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

There are several campgrounds. We stayed in Montecello South. The best access is exit 89 off I-25. If you like the remote, wide open spaces, this is the place for you. This is one of the most well designed campgrounds, I have ever seen. Sites are very spacious with plenty of space between sites also. We had water and electric. The sites are level gravel. There are beautiful views from all sites. We enjoyed watching hummingbirds, Gambel quail, and jack rabbits. There is a hiking trail the length of the lake and accessible from the campground. We camped at Elephant Butte Lake State Park, Lions Beach Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Brushy Creek COE, Jefferson, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

We were just there for an overnight but it was more than adequate. The roads entering were paved and good. The sites were paved and level. Many had lake view but not lakeside. We were lucky enough to have a red-bellied woodpecker nesting in a tree beside us. Sites are long and narrow and were open to other sites, but the space was OK. We camped at Brushy Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Shady Rest RV Park, Shady Springs, West Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We found the park adequate and quiet for an overnighter. The sight required a bit of leveling but not much. We had a pull thru. The grass was nicely mowed and the area clean. The worst part is the mile of one-lane road that has two-way traffic! The signs were helpful because we felt that we must surely have taken a wrong turn. There is also a steep gravel drive that you should not stop on until you reach the top. Once there, the set up is easy and the owner very nice. He also has firewood for sale. We camped at Shady Rest RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Joe T. Fallini Recreation Site, Mackay, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in a pull through site that had a gorgeous view of the mountains and was quite spacious. Nice cover over picnic table and good fire pit. Sites have water and electric but no full hookups. Very convenient to the reservoir. We hung bird feeders and had lots of hummingbirds. Sites were paved and level with gravel around fire pit and table. We camped at Joe T.
