Charlottesville KOA, Charlottesville, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is probably one of the smallest KOA camps we've visited, but it was very nice and clean. Our site was near the office so we were able to use their WiFi. Our cell service was weak. We walked the trails with our dog, which were a bit hilly and recent rains had exposed lots of tree roots but it was still navigable. Peaceful spot. We camped at Charlottesville KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Meadows of Dan Campground, Meadows Of Dan, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We fell in love with this park! Very clean, in a rural setting with gorgeous sunsets. Park is up a hill surrounded by rolling meadows dotted with neat little cabins. We had a pull-through site but down below are some back-in sites. There were only 2 other RVs near us so we felt almost like we had the place to ourselves. Would definitely return. We camped at Meadows of Dan Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice shopping in the village. Loved the fresh produce and novelty items sold at the gas station.

Green Mountain Park Resort, Lenoir, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This was not my idea of a campground. There are over 300 sites and most of them seem to be permanent parties. The park is not close to traffic but the road noise inside the park was bad. Lots of gasoline powered golf carts coming and going on the hilly roads plus a lot of diesel trucks. I felt like I was living in a "trailer park". We paid for cable TV and they hooked it up within an hour but the connection was bad. Also we had no cell service and the only WiFi was in their Great Hall and you had to sit in a certain area to get reception. We camped at Green Mountain Park Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground, Asheville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Did not make a reservation and we got the last site available! The park is close to I-40 and easy to get to but you do hear the traffic noises. We used the WiFi and found it satisfactory and they had free cable TV. The camp is convenient to the Biltmore Estate and the office gave us detailed instructions for driving there. Someone mentioned tight spaces in another review. They are close to each other but we had no trouble backing in and the pads are concrete. We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

They give you a list of shopping & restaurants with directions when you check in. That's always helpful.
