Lake Mineral Wells State Park, Mineral Wells, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We don't require much. We went for privacy, peace and quiet and got plenty and saw many deer. I didn't rate the park a 10 because many of the sites are narrow, with trees close to the sides and rear. We were not able to open our awning. We explored other sites and found a couple that would be better. Our trailer is 32 feet. We camped at Lake Mineral Wells State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tyler State Park, Tyler, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 3 nights in Big Pine #44. The spots are large with many trees (we had a family of raccoons in one). Depending on the site, the trees could make it difficult to dial in a satellite dish. We were able to. The park was not busy and very quiet. We stayed Tuesday-Friday. The weekends may be different. Wi-Fi is pretty much not attainable. It would show up, but not strong enough to connect. This did not matter to us, we came for the peace and quiet. The spots have paved pull through parking and you can park so you face the woods, not the road. Firewood is available on the honor system with a donation box. The staff at the gate were very helpful and friendly. There is a park store, but we didn't visit it. We have a park pass, so there was no entrance fee ($5/day) and we got 1/2 off our 2nd night (normally $24/night). We originally reserved 2 nights, but were enjoying it so much we booked another night, wishing we could stay for another week. I only gave the site 4 stars because it is time for some re-paving. We camped at Tyler State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Oak Creek RV Park, Weatherford, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This was a one night first time out in our new (to us) travel trailer to learn about it, work out the bugs and learn something about RV parks. We chose Oak Creek because it was close (45 minutes) and had good reviews. We were not disappointed. The park was clean, well maintained and the staff was friendly. It was crowded, but not cramped. We are more of state park campers, but we would definitely stay here again if the need arose. The noise from the interstate was not noticeable inside our trailer. The park also has a swimming pool and it was clean. We camped at Oak Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
