Greys River Cove RV Park, Alpine, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here some where around October 12 2014.

Looked at some other places closer to Jackson, they were jammed full and hugely overpriced. Found Greys River cove and the price although not real cheap was much more reasonable to the ones near Jackson.

Sites were close together but at that time of year the place was maybe a third full so not a problem. Decent view and I walked to an ok not great family type restaurant across the street.

For the area Greys River Cover is not a bad deal and I will stay there again. We camped at Greys River Cove RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Makoshika State Park, Glendive, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Have stayed here numerous times and for the area it is my favorite, but I'm fine with no hookups or showers . Always have stopped here late September to early October so the lack of shade isn't a problem, would guess it to be very hot in the summer.

Main reason I like it is the badlands vista and lack of traffic. I'm sure the fact that its well past peak camping season adds to this .

This campground or Sully Creek in Medora are routinely my first night from, and or my last night on my way home from an annual trip to the Beartooths, Yellowstone, Tetons, etc. We camped at Makoshika State Park in a Truck Camper.

Sully Creek State Park, Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This park is usually the first night and last night of a several week trip to Montana and Wyoming. It is just the right distance from home for one hard day of driving.

I am there in the fall and at times there have been few or no other campers, other times the horse portion of the campground a bit busy.

It is quiet and away from interstate noise, will at times hear trains but along way off. Have your choice of open or in tree cover depending on preference and rig size. Place was well kept and clean, the park ranger very nice.

This is the type of quiet off the beaten path places I always try and find, hate crowed and overly commercial campgrounds. We camped at Sully Creek State Park in a Truck Camper.

Perrys RV Park and Tent Campground, Red Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

I have stayed a number of times here, always in late September early October.

I usually camp off grid but stop at a full service campground now and then for a shower. At least in the fall this is a very nice quiet campground and at that time of year not crowded. I love the sites down by the roaring stream.

This one is always on my radar if I'm passing through Redlodge. We camped at Perrys RV Park and Tent Campground in a Truck Camper.

Buffalo Bill State Park, Cody, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Have stayed here numerous time late September and October.

Usually head on into Yellowstone the next day.

Have only stayed in the first one out of Cody, on the lake. Beautiful view and close to the water, have caught lake trout and rainbows casting from shore by my campsite. The only negative is it is very barren and open and with the way the mountain valley lays it can get some very strong winds. And if there are no winds you get a bit of highway noise which does get less later at night. We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Truck Camper.
