Chicot State Park, Ville Platte, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Far from highway--a bit rough with narrow roads and hanging trees for our 35 ft class A. Pretty trees, very narrow asphalt pads but level. Water standing on ground so beware. Place full of mosquitos. Was deserted and if the office staff is as rude to everyone as to us, I can see why. Website says $22--No, it is $28 1st night THEN $22. They have ready excuses not to honor America 50 pass so forget that. We won't be back as we don't like to pay money for rudeness. We camped at Chicot State Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Ouachita State Park, Mountain Pine, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Would give it the highest score but deducted due to no TV reception, no (or sporatic) Verizon cell service and obviously no wifi--a little too cut off from communication for me. Otherwise, brautiful lake and park. sites were rrcently rennovated and were extremely nice!! Very well maintained and peaceful. We camped at Lake Ouachita State Park in a Motorhome.

Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park, West Memphis, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Different campsites--some are in wide open area right on the Mississippi river. Others were in woodsy area and others along the fishing ponds. We stayed in the open area which had full hookups, large level concrete pad and lots of grassy areas.. We didn't feel like we were on top of each other either. There are some benches along the river to watch the paddle and tug boats go by.. The grounds were very well maintained including right up to the fishing ponds. Caught a couple of small fish --very peaceful.. Didn't use bathhouses so can't rate those. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The park feels like you're out in the country but only 20 minuted or less to attractions. Though no fault of the rv park, there is a train that goes by fairly close and on Saturday night, there was car racing noise obviously close by and was a little annoying. We would definitely come back! Big rig friendly! We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.
