Barkcamp State Park, Belmont, Ohio

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Beautifully maintained state park. We had a nice back-in site, very roomy and private. Out little dog loved walking the hilly lanes and checking out the horses in the equestrian area. We loved the quiet solitude found after Labor Day. We camped at Barkcamp State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Amana Colonies RV Park, Amana, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We spent two nights here while we explored the Amana villages. The campground features pull through lots with two units per lot. So if you are first you pull through, second RV pulls behind you and backs out. It was not crowded when we visited September 2015. We had electric, water and sewer at site. And we had good antenna TV reception. Our small dog was entertained by the multitude of ground chipmunks popping up and down from their burrows everywhere. Be careful not to trip in their holes.

Open area great for star gazing. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Ox Yoke restaurant in Amana is great! Just leave room for dessert.

S & H Campground, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at S & H for 4 nights while we were waiting to have an A/C replaced. S & H has a very competent repair service on site. So much better than staying in a parking lot of a facility. We are more than happy with the results. As for the park, there are mostly older permanent and seasonal sites inside the entrance. As a short time overnighter, we were put outside the entrance by the road in a nice open area. It was a bit loud with traffic noise outside, but fine inside. WiFi did not work where we were. Our site had electric, water and sewer. We used an antenna for local TV. Nice free musical entertainment on Saturday night. Friendly staff and residents. We camped at S & H Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
