Magnolia Ridge COE, Woodville, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

Though this is a beautiful park, the contractor that has the concession made it a miserable stay. They circled around our RV and car again and again blowing dust all over us. They then threatened to cause more problems the next day. He also stated multiple times that he made much more money than I did. We will not return to this park no matter how long we stay in Texas. We also will not go to the neighboring park on this lake. We strongly recommend avoiding this park. We camped at Magnolia Ridge COE in a Motorhome.

The drive from one end of this park to the other is beautiful. We saw herons, egrets, deer, cardinals, ducks and squirrels. We strongly recommend going to another COE park to enjoy these sights.

Twin Dikes COE, Jasper, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice COE park. We had one of the sites with sewer. Water Preasure is good, electric is very steady. The first weekend even had entertainment, but not what I would recommend. You will see egrets, Herons and Eagles. We camped at Twin Dikes COE in a Motorhome.

Lazy Pelican RV Park, Crystal Beach, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

It would be difficult for me to write a better review than those already here. I would if I could. We stayed here for three months and only left because we needed a vacation from the doctors at UTMB. Good clean water. Absolutely no electrical problems. Never a sewer issue. Beautiful birds at the pond. You can hear the surf from the park. The beach is just over a half mile walk. Could not be better owners. They are on site every day and check the park morning and evening by walking from one end to another. We have already reserved our spot for the coming winter months. We camped at Lazy Pelican RV Park in a Motorhome.

Beach City RV Resort, Beach City, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for two months at $500 per month. We looked at other locations, but the 2017 hurricane was a windfall for those parks that survived. We were in the site closest to the bay and it was very enjoyable. The new owners are doing major upgrades, so there was some mud to deal with, but Dan, the manager, said that would be gone by summer. The park is very isolated, but Baytown is only ten miles or so with lot of stores if you need something. We camped at Beach City RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sandy Creek COE, Jasper, Texas

Our site was on the lake shore. Huge, beautiful trees, herons, egrets, deer and an occasional squirrel. The park is quiet and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Roads are very good and you will have no trouble getting to your site. We camped at Sandy Creek COE in a Motorhome.

Cypress Black Bayou, Benton, Louisiana

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

A great place to stay! The leaves were falling while we were there, but the grounds are beautiful. The sites are well spaced out, but a little bumpy. We did not need to do any leveling, but the utilities on our site were on the curb side of the RV. Not a problem as there was plenty of room to move around and get close enough. There are deer, egrets and plenty of squirrels. The squirrels are a little shy, however. We saw why when a hawk cross the road in front of us carrying a black squirrel for dinner. There is also a small zoo that we spent a couple of hours visiting. We camped at Cypress Black Bayou in a Motorhome.

Jennings Ferry Campground COE, Eutaw, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

We had a back in site right on the river. The park is beautiful, well maintained and quiet. Staff extremely helpful. There was a 30 amp outlet, but only 50 amp available. We used an adapter. Dump station is very clean and well maintained. There were herons and great egrets, but the major attraction is the grey squirrels. We will go here again when in the area. We camped at Jennings Ferry Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Chester Frost Park, Hixson, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for four days. This is a beautiful park. The first morning we saw a hawk on the fence across the road, a heron on the shore and squirrels everywhere. Our site was parallel to the road with plenty of space. The roads are narrow, but mostly one way. We camped at Chester Frost Park in a Motorhome.

Kendall COE, Jamestown, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Another beautiful COE park. Sites are very large, wildlife is abundant, area is very quiet. With the start of fall, the leaves are falling and the park workers were blowing leaves every morning. Tho only down side is the trash collection points. They are locked sheds to the raccoons out, but there are no containers inside. You just put bagged trash on the floor. Interior roads are well paved, but only one lane wide. We camped at Kendall COE in a Motorhome.

Camp Robinson RV Park (Military FamCamp), Camp Robinson Army Post, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We were unable to stay here because our reservation was no honored. We had requested a pull through site for our 33ft motorhome. When we arrived, the pull through sites were all full including one with just a pick up parked in it. They offered us a back in site, but there were none that would fit a motor home of our size and none that would even safely hold a smaller unit. The three open sites were crumbling and falling down the slope of the hill. We camped at Camp Robinson RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Hanks Creek COE, Huntington, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for a week in June. The weekdays were good. There is a lot of wildlife to photograph. There weekend was bad. We saw multiple incidents where people were attacking nesting birds. The showers have not been maintained and the fans do not work making it nearly impossible to use them. There was plenty of parking space at our site for our toad. We camped at Hanks Creek COE in a Motorhome.

Magnolia Ridge COE, Woodville, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed a week near the last boat launch site. It was quiet. A few folks came and went while we were there with no bother at all. There are alligators and we noticed that a group of kayakers carried a rifle. Lots of birds to see and hear. COE volunteers and contractors were friendly and kept the park looking very nice.
