Countryside RV Park, Falfurrias, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a well taken care of park owned by a very nice couple. They really pay attention to the maintenance here. The only thing that is missing is an off leash dog run. Wifi works very well, At&t signal is barely usable, Verizon signal is strong. Our site was huge length wise with plenty of room to park both in front and behind once set up. The town does not have much to offer. The interior roads are quite narrow and you have to drive on the grass to make most of the turns. Nice quiet park for the short or long term stay. We camped at Countryside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Miller Creek RV Resort, Johnson City, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We were surprised by this park. It is not a resort by any stretch of the imagination, but it is nice and clean. They were constantly cleaning up, mowing, trimming trees etc. Good Verizon signal and At&t was usable but not strong. They have internet that you can pay for but we did not use it. Our site was plenty long and quite spacious by most standards. Easy to navigate in and out of the park and our site. Dog run is way to small. We camped at Miller Creek RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

By the Lake Rv Park, Ardmore, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice RV park. looks to be fairly new. Our site was quite a bit off level front to back. Utilities were very good. High water pressure here but they provide reducers if you do not have one. Excellent Verizon and At&t signals. No trees big enough to hamper sat signal. The sites are nice sized and the streets are wide enough to make maneuvering easy. It is quiet here except for the trains that run each day. We camped at By the Lake Rv Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wellington KOA, Wellington, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Standard KOA except the sites seemed to be slightly larger than normal plus they were grassy. Plenty of room to get in and out of our site. Utilities were to far forward for longer rigs. Good At&t and Verizon signal. CG was very quiet at night except when the railroad was hooking cars together. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp A Way, Lincoln, Nebraska

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Because of the location we did not have very high expectations. The interstate noise is present but not unbearable. This is a nice park by any standards and can see how it would be even better in the summer months. Wifi was strong enough to use during the day and Verizon and At&t signals were good. We arrived during a snow storm and had tree branches falling everywhere as we set up. They had them all cleaned up the next day. Our site was spacious and level enough front to back but way off side to side. Utilities worked well and the water pressure was higher than most other parks we stay at. We camped at Camp A Way in a Fifth Wheel.

Amana Colonies RV Park, Amana, Iowa

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This park is well taken care of. With all the room they have the roads could have been made much wider. As it is you kill a lot of grass when it is wet turning into your site. It is nice and quite with perfect access to the colonies. Verizon and At&t signals were good and we were able to use their Wifi. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Grand Island KOA, Doniphan, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Typical crowded cramped space KOA. It is probably the most well kept KOA we have been to. Flys are bad but to be expected since it is in the country. Quiet even though it is close to the interstate. Verizon signal was ok but At&t was iffy. Wifi worked for us. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Pony Soldier RV Park, Lingle, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay here. The owner is awesome and registration was one of the best we have encountered. The owner is very friendly and loves her park. Our site was plenty long and we would not have had to unhook if we were not site seeing. Looked like all sites were pull through. We had decent At&t and Verizon signals. While there are some mature trees for shade throughout the park ours did not have one. Many permanent residents who kept their sites clean for the most part. Some had kennels in their spaces and left their dogs out all day which we didn't appreciate much. If there is a downside to this park it was the trains going by all day but they didn't keep us awake all night. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Ft Laramie is worth the visit. If you are in the park in June, a pony express rider will come and pick up a pre-printed letter that you can send to anyone you know, and then ride into Ft Laramie to mail it. Small donation required.

Americas Campground, Box Elder, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Not much has changed here since the last review. The addition to the park still is nowhere close to being completed. It doesn't look like it was well planned out as it looks like every other water hook up is on the door side right out the front door of most rigs. The operational sites are cramped and ours didn't really even have room to do anything outside. The "grassy" area was really weeds with big rocks that just get in the way. The utilities all worked well. Verizon and AT&T service worked well. We camped at Americas Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Al's Oasis Campground, Oacoma, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here one night. I liken this campground to a KOA. The sites are close together and kids are running all over. It was close to the interstate and noisy especially when the truckers use their Jake brakes to get off of the exit. Our site was level and plenty long. Cell service was good. If you like a quiet place to unwind after a long day of driving, I wouldn't recommend stopping here. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Crystal Springs RV Resort, Ellendale, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is really nice. Big wide sites with plenty of parking. We had zero issues with the utilities. Good At&t and Verizon signals. Wifi did not work for us. They have a path around the pond to walk. Most of the sites seem to be seasonal/permanent. They were upgrading site pads from grass to crushed rock while we were there. If there is a downside it would be the placement of the water hookup. It is in the back corner of the site and we had to buy a new hose to be able to reach it. We would recommend staying here to anyone. We camped at Crystal Springs RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Eden Springs Park and Campground, Benton Harbor, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to find, reasonable rates and the staff here is awesome. After that, sites are not level, they all seem to be buddy sites, our site was one in the "fire lane" and we almost got run over by people driving through our site a couple of times, people used the lane to walk through all day. Verizon signal was OK, AT&T was better and sat signal is possible at some sites. The wifi worked very good for us. The history of the park is pretty cool but you need to be there on a weekend to learn anything about it first hand. Benton Harbor may have a bad rep crime wise but we felt safe our entire stay. We camped at Eden Springs Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

RV Park at Rising Star Casino, Rising Sun, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice place but way over priced for what is here and we will not return for that reason. It is well maintained and clean. The park is so new the concrete pads are not even stained. There are about 8 bathrooms in the middle and a laundry with 3 washers and dryers. There are only 6 pull through spots. If you have a bigger rig like ours, 44 ft, pick a site that you can back in from one of the through roads in the park. There are gravel pads along each site but ours is not deep enough for our pickup to fit. We had good verizon and at&t signals and all sites are sat friendly. One nice thing, and probably due to the cost to stay here, we shared the entire park with 6 others through the middle of the week. There is a security gate to get in and out and a shuttle pick-up to the Casino. We camped at RV Park at Rising Star Casino in a Fifth Wheel.

Clinton / Knoxville North KOA, Clinton, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Standard overpriced KOA. The staff here makes the difference, they are amazing. Just like most KOA's they pack you in like sardines and unless you have kids there is not much to do. It is a well kept park and very clean. We walked through the monthly site portion and they have less room than the daily side. The wifi worked for us and we had a decent At&t and Verizon signal. Plenty of room for bigger rigs. We camped at Clinton / Knoxville North KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
