Bayhead Mobile Home Park, Tallahassee, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We were trying to find a discounted RV campground in Tallahassee, as the prices are quite high - around $40. Happened to call Bayhead, and they were offering the Passport America discount, even though they are not listed on the PA website anymore. The park interior roads are paved but a little narrow, but we were able to maneuver fine..the site itself was pretty level, although it had a broken cement pad at the front and the rest was packed dirt. The manager was also nice enough to leave the clubhouse door open so that we could use the restrooms and showers. We camped at Bayhead Mobile Home Park in a Travel Trailer.

Braunig Lake RV Resort, Elmendorf, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here while visiting friends in San Antonio. There are several friendly full timers at the park. The restrooms are two private shower / bathroom areas that are very nice. New washers and dryers were just installed in the laundry room a couple of months ago; they offer credit / debit payment instead of coin. Nice Speed Queen top loaders, dryers, along with one medium size front loader washer and dryer. If you stay over the weekend, the park offers a very reasonable Friday and Monday night dinner, and a Saturday and Sunday breakfast. We camped at Braunig Lake RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Montgomery South RV Park, Hope Hull, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park, right off of the interstate. We wanted a nice site, with room to walk our dogs, and nice bathrooms. This fit the bill. No frills, but clean and roomy. Owner walked us to our site and thanked us for staying with them. Owner gave us a heads up to have a pressure regulator for the hose, as their water pressure is quite high. You feel like you are in the country, but you you can see the Interstate, negligible freeway noise, though. We camped at Montgomery South RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Delta Village RV Park, Leland, Mississippi

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Where do I begin? We were trying to get home to central Florida after getting stuck in San Antonio by Hurricane Harvey. We were looking for something in the Greenville, MS area that was near a highway, and at least a half way decent park. There are several State parks that had excellent ratings, but too far off the path or in the wrong direction for us. I called up this Park because their website does mention that they have Rv sites along with mobile homes. Since Florida is snowbird country, we have quite a few of those types of parks, so we kind of went there with a preconceived notion of what to expect. Boy, were we wrong! First, I would have to go count, but I don't think there are 15 sites in here, and even if there were, only two of them were available. I would say at least 75 percent of them are filled with long term renters. The RV parking is a row of back in sites on a dead end Street behind the office. I think the only reason the site we chose was available was because others could not maneuver around the electric pole that was at the edge of the "Road", kitty corner from the site. I think the office person lied to me about bathrooms being available because we couldn't locate any. The asphalt in the other available was all torn up and crumbling, so that left us with the site we chose. It was paved but not very well. We camped at Delta Village RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Texarkana RV Park & Event Center, Texarkana, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Loved this Rv Park! Very well laid out; the bathrooms are extremely well designed with the shower and toilet area in individual, air conditioned, hotel like private rooms. Staff is very friendly along with the people staying there. They also have a fenced play area for your dogs. The park is near I30 interstate but with the large trees and privacy fencing, you don't even realize it, other than some traffic noise you hear only when outside. There is even a swimming pool at the front of the park, behind the park office. Laundry and game room are in one building, bathrooms and clubhouse in building right next door. We camped at Texarkana RV Park & Event Center in a Travel Trailer.

Hidden Lake Safari Ranch and RV Park, Jacksboro, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very unusual Park, as it is also a 20 acre wildlife sanctuary with deer, and a donkey, ambling around the park - not sure if ticks are a problem in this area. The animals are accustomed to people, but I don't know if they want you to feed them. There were ant hills near our trailer, but we only stayed one day so they didn't bother us. Watch out for the mosquitoes. There are other wildlife, such as antelope that are behind an eight foot fence and you can pay an extra discounted fee for a safari tour if you are staying there. As the name implies there is a lake on the property, and you are allowed to fish free of charge when a guest. The sites were relatively level, all back in. Pedestals are at the rear of sites. The access to the park is a gravel road from the highway, less than a mile, but quite dusty. There is a laundry room with an advertised "full bathroom", but the door was locked on both of our attempts. Manager lives in the house at the entry to the park, but not available 24/7. We had considered staying at another nearby campground, and when we mentioned this and then ask for their rate we were told $20. The posted rate is $35 a day - I think she just gave us a price match for the other park. Park is very relaxed concept; no site numbers, no park map, gate is open 24/7. We camped at Hidden Lake Safari Ranch and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Kamper Kompanion RV Park, Litchfield, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Kamper Kompanion RV Park is a small (less than 30 sites), well maintained park a short distance from highway 55, with both 30 and 50 amp sites. Most of the sites form a circle around the Center pavilion. There are a few longterm campers, but their rigs are newer or clean. Most of the sites can accommodate big rigs - we saw several 40+ foot rigs in the park the night we stayed. The park owner / manager, is always out and about, making sure things are taken care of around the park and camper's needs are met. Very friendly place The owner graciously invited us to their Saturday night potluck and karaoke, even though we came in around 7 that night. She told us not to bother bringing anything, just come eat and join the party. We definitely would recommend this cute park while travelling through Southwestern Illinois. We camped at Kamper Kompanion RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Twin Mills Resort, Howe, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We came here on Father's Day weekend. It was busy, but there were still several sites available in our section. This campground is very unique in that there are two separate campgrounds on either side of the main road, one side seemed to be more "rustic" than the other. The park is big enough that you can bring your own golf cart, or rent one from the park - price depends on the day of the week and/or holidays. The campground has a swimming pool and a lake available for activities. We camped at Twin Mills Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Poor Farmer's RV Sales, Service & Campground, Fletcher, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is only a few miles from the highway, but as stated you feel like you are out in the country. There are back-in sites around the edges of the large, grassy well mowed campground with a curved slightly sloping layout. There is a section of pull-through sites that are laid out on slight slope. The sites are well kept, but full hookups are only available on a small number of sites. The positive side was the bathrooms are air conditioned, almost too cold in fact, but they needed the floor painted and spruced up. Hubby said his shower floor was bare concrete, not spic and span but the toilets and sink were clean. This was a nice one night stop on our way home. We camped at Poor Farmer's RV Sales, Service & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Singing Hills RV Park & Campground, Cave City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This is a Really nice park! Just 2-1/2 miles from Interstate 65, the campground is situated on gently rolling land. Our site was spot on level, which was great! All the w/e hookups look brand new. There a nice little catch and release fish pond on the property. The owners are retired missionaries and very nice people. The park is all pull-throughs in the middle with back-ins along the edges. There are also tent camping sites and each campsite has its own fire ring and picnic table. A few permanent residents, but very well kept trailers. Park is well maintained; the bathrooms are a little dated but clean. We camped at Singing Hills RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We liked the Sahara Steakhouse on the way to Glasgow for dinner. The food was tasty and a good selection, with a soup and salad bar. Don't listen to your GPS or you will end up going in a circle. Get off on exit 53, take a left at the bottom of the ramp and it will be two and a half miles up the road on the right.

Al Sihah Shriners' RV Park, Macon, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Al Sihah Shrine 's RV Park is run by the Shrines fraternity in a secluded location at Macon, Georgia. The campsites are located circling a large field as described, and more along a small pond. There were just a handful of campers there when we came in around 2 p.m. with a wedding about to begin in a large hall on the property, next to the pond. As the park manager was busy with the wedding, he asked us to come pay for our site in the morning . He said he is up by 5:30, so not to worry. The festivities were rather quiet; we heard a little bit of music and it was all over by 8 p.m. so we were able to sleep. The wedding really didn't affect us, thankfully. As for the camping site, our site and others there were nicely leveled; they must have been improved since others posted their reviews. Power, water was good, we choose not to use the sewer that was available. Pets are welcome. No ants, but we did get buzzed by a couple of horseflies but not bit, thankfully. I would recommend applying the bug spray if planning on being out in the afternoon early evenings. My husband said restrooms were okay. A cement floor and spider webs, dust but it didn't bother him. We camped at Al Sihah Shriners' RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Glendale Campground, Elizabethtown, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

I called the park around noon and spoke to a nice woman who said to call back when we arrived around six. We were delayed a bit, but she was still pleasant and told us where we could park. The signage is very helpful in locating the park. We handled the payment over the phone, and I had to call back a couple of times to clarify things, which she didn't mind. We had a beautiful, side to side level site. Hookups were good and well maintained (no sewer, but a dump site was available). Yes, it was on a bit of an incline. Our 21 foot trailer had no problem maneuvering in the park

Bathroom/shower on the back of the office was clean though a little small.

There are long term residents on one side of the park, but the area is well maintained and doesn't give you the impression of a "trailer park".

We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Glendale Campground in a Travel Trailer.
