Along the River Park , Capitan, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this RV Park 4-5 times in the past few years. It has always been clean and well maintained. Not this time. Bathrooms were dirty. Showers were dirty, commodes hadn't been cleaned in ages, both sinks stopped up and barely draining, trash can overflowing with trash, toilet paper littered all over floor. I had to go to the office and request that the bathrooms be cleaned so that we could use them. Even after that, I had to clean the soap holder so that my bottle of shampoo wouldn't get gunk on the bottom of it. Floors were still filthy even after they were "cleaned". There were only a few visitors (October) so the restrooms really weren't getting much traffic at all. Which indicates to me that the place hadn't been tended to in many many days. Unacceptable and unbelievable, considering how it used to be so nicely kept up. The owners were not there this time, so maybe that was the problem. Also, the whole place used to be kinda cute. Now it's getting shabby and run down looking. The office porch has old peeling "decor" that needs to go. Not that hard or expensive to put up something decent. It's beginning to have an air of neglect. Sad because we used to come here every time we were in Ruidoso. We will be staying somewhere else next time. We camped at Along the River Park in a Travel Trailer.

Los Suenos de Santa Fe RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed during Balloon Festival week. We had to camp on the parking lot with no amenities (thus the $38 charge) which was fine since we were told we could use the showers and restrooms. As it turned out, the restroom had not been cleaned in days and most probably weeks. There were balls of hair mixed with plain ole filth along the walls. Sinks were filthy. Hair balls in the showers for 3 days. And the really worst part....the "cleaning man" sat outside the bathrooms every day playing on his cell phone. When he had sat there long enough I guess, he drove off. He "put in his time" but never actually cleaned anything. Disgusting. The whole place was creepy and not well kept up. We will not stay here again. We camped at Los Suenos de Santa Fe RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Spring Branch RV Park, Spring Branch, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Restrooms were as clean as my own at home. We were checked in promptly. We were given a spot under a huge oak tree. Nice and shady away from the highway noise. Most RVs were not travelers, but everything was neat and tidy. We reported a faucet with a leaky valve and it was fixed the same day. Everyone who was outside was friendly. I don't think I've ever stayed in an RV park as clean as this one. We camped at Spring Branch RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Centennial Park Campground, Anchorage, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Do Not Stay here. This place is not safe. Police arrived our first evening to investigate something in a nearby tent. Police were patrolling regularly the 2 days we were there. I have never been in a campground that needed police protection, but this one has it. The majority of campers seem to be homeless people. Many sites are so full of junk, it looks like the "campers" have been there for months. One "camper" walked around the camp carrying an 8-foot spear, an 18 Inch knife, bear spray and 2 dogs. Another walked around with a pit bulldog who had a metal muzzle. Not exactly your camper types. Then there is the nastiness of the place. I had to put on rubber gloves and clean the trash off of our site before we pulled the trailer in. The bathrooms were literally filthy when we got there and by the 2nd day they had never been cleaned. Trash cans overflowing and never dumped. This place needs to be closed down by the police. If you value your camper and your personal safety, do not stay here. We camped at Centennial Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Restway Travel Park, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This park is run-down and not at all cared for. There are old commodes, rotten boards, and sacks of hardened cement beside the swimming pool with weeds grown up around them for instance. The "playground" is filled with faded, cracked old toys that should be thrown away. The putt putt golf is a joke and unusable. Our picnic table was rotten and filthy. The bathrooms were not clean when we arrived and had not been cleaned by the next afternoon when we left. Trash cans overflowing. Road full of potholes. They have people hired that seemed to do nothing but sit in the office and talk. You would think they would at least go clean something or throw away some junk and trash. I would not stay here again. The lack of plain old cleanliness and repair is inexcusable. Don't go here. If you're desperate, find a pullout on the highway instead. This place is a total waste of your money. We camped at Restway Travel Park in a Travel Trailer.
