Caspar Beach RV Park, Mendocino, California

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 6 days. Our group consisted of six RVs and one tent camper. The tent site was spacious and somewhat secluded. RV sites were barely large enough for RVs. Almost all surfaces are dirt. Park staff did not assist with parking unless requested. We observed at least 4 units that collided with site markers, a fire pit, and a fence. Getting into many sites requires multiple spotters. Large motor homes created a challenge for all but the most accessible sites, and very skillful drivers.

Utilities were functional but in need of repair or upgrades. Threads stripped on the sewage attachment. Weight required on sewage hose to prevent leakage.

Our electrical box was rusted from sitting in puddles created by leaking faucets. Voltage dropped to 104 volts when the park was full. No one in our group had problems with incorrect or faulty wiring or high voltage. Use a surge (and low voltage) protector and ensure circuit breakers are open when making connections.

The campground store was very well stocked with food, camping supplies, and RV supplies. Prices were reasonable. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The name RV Park and Campground is very accurate. This is not an RV resort but a campground that accommodates RVs. There is ocean access across the street in easy walking distance. Scuba divers, abalone divers, snorkelers, kayakers, and surfers can all access the ocean by walking from the campground. The store rents good quality kayaks. The campground is very busy, active and noisy during the day. Nights are quiet and staff will enforce quiet hours if needed.

Mendocino is a short drive away. For Bragg is about 15 minutes away.

I will definitely stay here again. We camped at Caspar Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.

Klamath’s Camper Corral RV Park and Campground, Klamath, California

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed with a motor home group and used clubhouse. Very friendly, helpful personnel. Personnel are fishermen and have referrals for fishing guides and have clean, lighted fish cleaning station. Very fisher friendly.

Nice club house with ping-pong table.

RV park WIFI is very inadequate. Verizon phone coverage is marginal. ATT phone is spotty and not dependable. We camped at Klamath’s Camper Corral RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Blue Spruce RV Park, Grants, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

I arrived after hours. Signs stated full-hookup sites are $19.; after hours, pick an open site. All full-hookup sites were full. I selected a site with only electric and water. After I leveled, an employee came by and informed me that 50 amps would cost $2 extra. I did not need 50 amps so I plugged into 30 amps. My surge protecter tripped and indicated that 30 amp service had an open ground. The employee advised me the equipment was old and probably had a loose connection. He advised me to use the 50 amp service or move to another site. I plugged into the 50 amp receptacle and flipped the switch. The switch broke in my hand, cut my finger, and exposed the interior metal parts of the circuit breaker. Only one circuit of the 50 amp breaker worked. The employee advised that he would have the breaker repaired in the morning. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.
