Happy Trails RV Park, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We had left voice mail requesting a site for 5 nights. Someone called us back and said they had a cancellation and to come on down. When we got there, our name was not on the list of reservations. We had to back into a site where sewer hook-up was not feasible. We moved to another site but had to drive in frontways. The sites from an earlier era have been divided into two sites. Which means that one of the sites shares the sewer with the one next to it. Problem is that when you back into the secondary site, the hookup is on the wrong side. Then, while the bathroom and shower are clean, they are woefully in disrepair. Many people would refuse to use them. The campground trash was over flowing when we arrived and 4 days later had still not been emptied. The camp host is very nice and helpful. Would not stay here again. We camped at Happy Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Newport Campground, Crawfordville, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Campsites are ample, but relatively close together. All sites have water, electricity and sewer. Nightly rate without sewer, $22.00, with sewer $27.00. Wi-Fi is a bit weak, but with a booster antenna good. We stayed for over a week. Weekly rate $138.00. We camped at Newport Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Definitely visit the light house, the road is just across from the park. Also, other nearby state and county parks merit visits. Tallahassee just a few miles north.

Glen Oaks Mobile Home and RV Park, Fort Pierce, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This park is conveniently located near Fort Pierce. We stayed here for one month. It is primarily occupied by permanent residents, but there are transient sites available. $150.00 per week. While there are no amenities, each site has its own sewer hookup. The permanent residents are friendly and helpful. We camped in a travel trailer and would definitely stay here again. Diamond Lake Resort, Owensboro, Kentucky

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

You may need an extra long hose to hook up to water. No trash cans nearby to campsite. Easy to get to, just don't rely on GPS. GPS will take you on a roundabout route. Just stay on KY 56 until you get to KY 815. Ignore instructions to take KY 279! Lots of permanent and seasonal campers. Stay for 6 nights and 7th night free. We camped at Diamond Lake Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Bathrooms/showers clean, but run down. Some people may not find them satisfactory. Fort Hartford, on the property, interesting. Frequent events at the park, musical, dancing, equestrian. We camped at Ohio County Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.
