Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I'm still trying to figure out how this park got such high ratings. The staff was nice, check in no problem. We only stayed here two nights while visiting Kartchner Caverns. The sites were arched making it hard to pull in and level the RV. We had to park our car at an angle in the gravel area as did everyone else in the park. The roads and sites are all paved which makes it nice. Our site was at the end of one of the streets making the train noise loud especially at night. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

We were only here two nights but enjoyed our stay here. The staff was friendly, we had a great site, and no problems at all. I would recommend this RV Park to any of my friends. We camped at Boot Hill RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Carlsbad KOA, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

In all of our travels this is the best RV Park we have stayed at. We didn't get the premier site but got a pull through gravel site. The sites were long and spacious, level and it was nice not to be right next to our neighbors. We only stayed for two nights but we would definitely stay here again. Staff was great. The only drawback for us was we were visiting Carlsbad Caverns and it was about45 minutes away. Every RV Park should take lessons from this one! We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Motorhome.

Albuquerque North / Bernalillo KOA, Bernalillo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to stay whether over night or for a stay and visit at nearby Albuquerque. Great staff, friendly and helpful. We were here for the balloon festival for three nights. We were led to our site (30 amp electric, water, and no sewer) which was nice and roomy providing afternoon shade with a picnic table outside and artificial turf. Some of the roads to our site were a bit narrow with some tight turns. We noticed there was a tree branch rubbing the top of our RV thinking once we left they would take care of it. But amazing, it took a few minutes and they were there pruning the limb! Now that's great service! We definitely would come back here. We camped at Albuquerque North / Bernalillo KOA in a Motorhome.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Good place to stay if you're visiting Santa Fe and surrounding areas. We were on Aster Street and were satisfied with out site at the end of the road. Nice level site but we narrow sites, we were very close to each other. Concrete pad with small table and two chairs. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was when it rained one day during our stay the dirt was washed onto the patio and our rug. No cable. There is a lot of metal artwork so gave the appearance of being a little bit junky. Everything we did tended to be to the north so from SF Skies it made the drive a little farther. We would stay here again. We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA, Pueblo, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Great Park, we were here only one night so didn't use a lot of their amenities. Showers and bathrooms very clean. Staff nice and we were shown our site which was helpful. Office was nice with some basic groceries, ice cream, and souvenirs. Had a mini golf course, pool, and playground. My only complaint which isn't really a complaint is it is a little pricey for an overnight but I wouldn't think anything of it if we were staying in the area for tourist activities. I would definitely stay here again. Nice scenery from our site and we had plenty of room on our site. We camped at Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA in a Motorhome.

High Plains Camping, Oakley, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Looks like the place could use some updating. We didn't use any of their facilities as this was just for overnight. Lots of weeds around, site was grass with gravel road. It was fine for us but if it's been raining I could see it could become a muddy mess. They have 16 sites at the back for overnighters, and the rest are for semi permanent pipe line workers and wind farm employees. As previously stated it's not what I consider a resort but it's good for an overnight stay. Convenient restaurant on site and we thought the food was good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Motorhome.

J & H RV Park (55 + Park), Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

This RV Park was fine, but we felt a little pricey for overnight and maybe that was our problem. We were only looking for overnight and didn't want to unhook our tow vehicle. However the sites were not long enough for us to stay hooked so had to park in back of our trailer at an angle to fit. Otherwise the place looked very well kept and bathrooms/showers were very nice. The staff when we checked in were not overly friendly. I thought it was over priced but not sure where else you will stay in Flagstaff. We were parked near the entrance so heard road noises all night, wifi not very good either. We camped at J & H RV Park (55 + Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Spanish Trail RV Park & Campground, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for a week while visiting nearby national parks, everything was satisfactory. Showers and bathrooms were adequate but not spick and span as they say. One shower I used was great, the next shower the water ran on the changing room making it hard to dress. Most sites are very uneven. Otherwise nice quiet park that I would stay at again. Staff was satisfactory, Betty who showed us our site was really friendly and even brought us back a Moab Restaurant brochure and recommended a few places to us. She was great! No pool but we weren't wanting that anyway. Although we thought the nightly rate was high it's Moab and seems like most RV places are expensive and were no vacancies anywhere in town at hotels or RV parks. If you make your reservations for September make sure you make them way ahead of time. We made ours 5 months ahead of time. We camped at Spanish Trail RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We love Moab. Some towns we've been to have lots of tshirt shops with junk in them. Moab has lots of nice shops and plenty of good restaurants. I hope we can return here. If you go into the national parks go early leave early in the day, they were really crowded by mid morning!

Goulding's Lodge & Campground, Oljato-Monument Valley, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, but very uneven lots, close by your neighbors, hard to park our truck. Showers nice and clean as are the restrooms however showers are small with no bench. Only two hooks for your clothing. Indoor pool looks nice but we didn't use it. Staff was very nice. Close to Monument Valley is a plus, the only RV Park in the area and I think they take advantage of it. Gouldings owns just about everything in the area, grocery store, gas station, cabins, restaurant, on and on. If you want to see Monument Valley this is the place to stay but good for a one time visit. We camped at Goulding's Lodge & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Mesa Verde RV Resort, Mancos, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for about a week to do Mesa Verde and other activities nearby. Nice park and we stayed in the upper level so I can only review this area. There is a lower level so am not sure about any review of that area. Our space #8 was level, big, pull through site with mountains in the background that we could see outside of our trailer. Staff is helpful, used the bathrooms and the showers and they are super clean and well maintained. Wifi was for the most part very good as least in our area, but no shade. There is a pool and a hot tub but we did not use them although they looked nice. Very quiet park. I would highly recommend this RV Park without hesitation. Only thing I might request would be to have a different site than ours. One side faced another RV and the other side faced a home (owner's residence) so our view was the home. There was no problem just my personal preference. I think I would have liked any of the sites 9-13. We camped at Mesa Verde RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Alamosa KOA, Alamosa, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Only here one night on our way to Mesa Verde. Nice quiet RV Park even tho there were a lot of us here. Level gravel site with a small fire pit and an almost useless picnic table. Staff was friendly and efficient. They have a small pool and a small play area for kids but we didn't use either. There is a small laundry area and a nice little store. We ordered Hunt Bros Pizza which was delivered to us and it was not gourmet pizza but was good. My only complaint is for the amenities I thought it was pricey even with our discount, other than that we were very satisfied. We camped at Alamosa KOA in a Travel Trailer.

High Plains Camping, Oakley, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

I'll make this short as you can read previous reviews. We were on our way to Colorado so this is an ideal place for an overnight stay. We didn't use showers, bathroom, or laundry so I can't comment on cleanliness. Site was good size so we didn't have to unhook tow vehicle. Wifi was good, staff very friendly, we received a $5 coupon for the nearby restaurant. We were very pleased but not sure I woUld want to stay more than a couple of nights. No shade on a gravel lot but very level. If you need more info here are great previous reviews which is why we chose this place. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We stay here every year overnight on our way to Tucson. Great level graveled park with restaurant steps away. Staff terrific, great sites, can't beat the price and if you are an Escapee member it's even cheaper. Only negative is there is only paid wifi but my 4G worked fine. Midessa Oil Patch RV Park, Odessa, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Staff was good, clean place for an overnight stay. This is older mainly residential RV park. Sites were narrow and my main concern was the quality of the water. There is a posted warning from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. They did give us a case of water for drinking and said we could use their water for showers and dish washing. We played it safe by not using their water at all. We wanted to stay at a different RV park but I waited too long to make our reservation. Not much out this way so my advice is make your reservations early. We only needed a place for overnight and we're glad we could move on. We camped at Midessa Oil Patch RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
