Cave Country RV Campground, Cave City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Nice sites, not too close together. Quiet. Close to park and freeway. Not much shade and a lot of ants. All in All, fairly nice. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Honeysuckle Meadows RV Park (formerly Cove Mountain RV Park), Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in site 55. Very spacious sites. Full hookup. Excellent water pressure. We were fairly level. The campground seemed very well maintained .

Biggest drawback was probably due to our particular site location which was right next to edge of property including a house and a road so lots of motorcycle / truck noise when outside. Drove around other sites and they were much further removed and would have been much quieter. For a night or two this site was acceptable any longer and we would have asked to be in one of the sites on the large loop . We camped at Honeysuckle Meadows RV Park (formerly Cove Mountain RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park, Limestone, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The spots were very narrow for what we have seen at other state parks. Reminded me more of a KOA or Jellystone. Full hookups were a plus. The bathrooms were single unit shower / toilet so multiple people could not use at the same time.

No fire pit at the sites we had so you either had to bring your own or forego. The site we were at (28) had no shade. Other sites closer to the river had better shade.

If in the area might stay again, but wouldn't make it our destination. We camped at Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The visitor center was nice. There is a pool for use during "summer"...as determined by memorial to labor day...not the actual summer season.

American Heritage RV Park, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in site 39. Pull through, concrete pad and patio, full hookups. The site was well maintained and the park was quite nice. If you wanted a fire you had to request a fire ring as opposed to it being on the site permanently. I believe there were built in rings on the deluxe sites. Where we were was very shaded, the other sites in the back were not but slightly bigger.

Laundry area needs some updates. We used it but wasn't up to par with their bathhouse which was very nice.

We will use them if we are in the area again. Just not in the summer...it was HOTTT. We would request site 39 again. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Moonshine Creek Campground, Balsam, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed over Memorial Day Weekend in Site 7. The arrival was good and although some said (in other reviews) the staff member was hard to deal with, he gave the best directions for backing into the site we have ever had. Us and several others. If you do what he says it is smooth and easy. If you don't it took a while. (We watched this once.) He had a very dry sense of humor and was picking on me saying things like we are going to take you right over the boulder scrape a little metal and end up right over the creek. LOL.

The creek was lovely and the sites were clean. One minus for being close together although not as close as we have been at other campgrounds.

As others have said the bathrooms are VERY nice. Clean and modern.

Campers were nice although due to it being a holiday weekend I think there was some sort of music war going on between several campsites. Also our neighbors had a very late night apparently funny conversation with some other campers on the first night at their campfire which carries to our window. This is however NOT the campground's fault. :-)

Very dog friendly although no off leash dog area. I think almost all campsites had some sort of fur baby.

Small shop for essentials. Firewood for sale.

All in all we will probably be back sometime in the not too distant future. We camped at Moonshine Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Long Ridge Campground, Hiawassee, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

First time out for real. So very new campers here. The turn in needs better signage. Almost missed it.

The check in was very smooth, the owner was not in but she contacted a long-termer who came and helped us back into a site.

Site 15 was fairly level, and luckily easy to get into. Other back-in sites required more leveling and as newbie campers would have been hard to navigate into. No cable, but not an issue as Aggies had an off week. :-)

The campground was very well maintained, and pretty quiet. The main thing that would have led to a higher rating for us would have been more than one toilet stall in the main bathhouse.

It was a very nice location for us as we visited Helen, Brasstown Bald and Blue Ridge.

We would camp here again. We camped at Long Ridge Campground in a Travel Trailer.
