Clearwater / Lake Tarpon KOA, Palm Harbor, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

The owners are doing a great job building a very nice campground in an urban setting. Interior roads can be tight, some spaces can handle big rigs if they back in. Sites are crushed shells, interior roads are asphalt/gravel. All-new utilities, lush landscaping, not much noise from US 19. Cable is not installed yet, but they tell you this clearly on check-in. Our site got satellite reception just fine so it wasn't a problem, but some sites would be blocked by trees. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the Tarpon Springs area. We camped at Clearwater / Lake Tarpon KOA in a Motorhome.

You can only turn right (north) on heavily-traveled US-19 leaving the park. Several of the left/u-turn lanes are wide enough to make a u-turn with a big rig towing.

Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA, Fort Mill, South Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights in a Premium site (concrete pad and patio area). Interior roads are asphalt and gravel, watch for potholes. Long-term resident area is separated from the campground by a fence. Pool, playground area are newly renovated and nice. The rest is fairly standard KOA "Journey"...good for a night or two. We camped at Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA in a Motorhome.

Indian Springs Campground, North Bend, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

One of very few options available in the Cincinnati area, Indian Springs was our base for 2 nights for visiting the Creation Museum. Campground is immediately next to I-275, and road noise is significant. About 12 pull-through spaces are available, the rest are back-in. Most of the lakeside back-in spaces are rather short, not suitable for large motorhomes or fivers. Many long term/seasonal residents. Park is well-maintained but very basic. We camped at Indian Springs Campground in a Motorhome.

U.S. Space & Rocket Center RV Park, Huntsville, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older park located adjacent to the US Space and Rocket Center. Only 30 amp electric is available. There are only a few pull-through spaces, the rest are back in. Roads are tight but trees are trimmed back so clearance was not really a problem. We camped at U.S. Space & Rocket Center RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Free RV Parking is available the US Space and Rocket Center parking lot when the center is open...we stayed in the campground the night before our visit but then moved to the parking lot during the day as we were leaving directly afterwards. Follow signs for Bus/RV Parking. The spaces are only long enough for a 45' motorhome, I disconnected the toad and parked it in an adjacent car parking space.

Fair Harbor RV Park, Perry, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Very good for an overnight or longer stay in middle Georgia. Easy access off I-75 (behind a church). Pull-through space was long enough that I didn't have to unhook my toad. Utilities worked fine. Office staff was super-nice. Would stay here again. We camped at Fair Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pelican Lake Motorcoach Resort, Naples, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

There are only about six rigs in this entire park on Labor Day weekend...wow! Beautifully manicured grounds, wonderful landscaping, very deep pull-in spaces (didn't even have to drop my toad to pull in to the space!) all concrete/pavers. Just a gorgeous park and so peaceful in what they call the off-season. We camped at Pelican Lake Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Williston Crossings RV Resort, Williston, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent park, spotless facilities. Plenty of space between most of the sites, and they have left beautiful trees in abundance (don't expect to be able to use satellite). Excellent dog runs and disposal bins in many places. Very quiet location, pretty much all that an RV resort should be! We camped with friends, and our space 177 was probably one of the smallest in the park and very close to its next-door neighbor. That said, almost all the other spaces were generously sized. We camped at Williston Crossings RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The Dell RV Resort, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at The Dell Motorcoach Resort during Thanksgiving week. While the town was packed and the main roads were gridlock much of the time, The Dell sits quietly back at the foot of the hills. This ownership resort is quite small, and offers no amenities other than comfortable and spacious full hookup campsites, but it is perfect for a motorcoach visit to the Pigeon Forge area. The staff is very nice. Garbage pickup is not scheduled but anything left at the street is picked up during the day. Satellite reception was fine. One BIG benefits was the strong, fast, free wifi provided. We would absolutely stay here again. We are deeply sorry for the loss so many people suffered in the recent fires, but The Dell was not affected by them. We camped at The Dell RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

When you arrive, pull in to The Dell's driveway...do not try to drive motorhome farther up the road to the rental office despite what the instructions may say. The driveway offers a long, straight area to disconnect your toad, and a sign directs you to call the office when you are ready to enter the gates. A staff member met us within minutes and escorted us to our site.

Nashville KOA, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice KOA near Opryland hotel, conference center, mall. The Premium sites are pull-through, paved, with patio and fire ring, not spaced too closely. Non-premium sites (though still expensive) are typical KOA: Very close, not paved. The facilities are very nice and newly remodeled. We camped at Nashville KOA in a Motorhome.

Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground, Elko, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

OK for an overnight stop. The staff is very friendly, showed us to our space immediately -- you set up and go to the office to pay when you are ready. The pool and spa are nice, there are grass areas for walking the dogs. Hookups are convenient.

Cons are the incredible gnats which make being outside almost impossible, very dusty, noise from the adjacent interstate is very loud, and there really are no services nearby at all. We camped at Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Orange City RV Resort, Orange City, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for one night enroute to Walt Disney World. This is primarily a residential park, with a small number of sites available for transient stays. Our site was located on "Gravelled Road," which pretty much sums up the environment. It was the only unpaved road in the resort. Spaces are *very* close together. The sites that are owned by residents are much nicer and larger. I was able to pull in to our site, but decided to back out because the road in front was very tight with many parked cars. We were on the end of the row, so this wasn't difficult.

The people we met were very nice, and the park is maintained in spotless condition. As noted, there is a very large French Canadian population of residents. However, this is not a resort I would return to unless I could get a nicer site. We camped at Orange City RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Point South KOA, Yemassee, South Carolina

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

This is a good KOA -- much better than other "enroute" KOAs that we've stayed at. The park *is* close to I-95, so traffic noise is present, but you can't see the freeway and the park itself is peaceful. We had space 52, which was long enough for our 40' motorhome and toad. The staff is wonderful. They offer Hunt Brothers Pizza made to order and will even deliver it to your site. There is a nice wine bar with nightly tastings. The park is adjacent to a lake with a very well-maintained trail around the shore, it's a mile around and a great way to stretch the legs.

Overall, we thought this was a good park and we'll use it again when traveling this way. We camped at Point South KOA in a Motorhome.

Pine Mountain RV Resort, Pine Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Pine Mountain RV Resort for one night on the way home from the Gulf Coast. The park is about 8 miles off of I-185 north of Columbus, GA, and the roads are good. I booked an extended-length pull-through site in order to avoid unhooking my toad, and site 186 was assigned. The park had only a few sites occupied, all in our general area. Sites in this area are open with no shade (it was cold so it didn't matter). We were escorted to the site. A level concrete pad made setup easy. Wifi was strong and fast. Cable TV produced only a snowy picture, so we relied on satellite and local antenna (only 3 channels).

The park was fine for what we needed. The recreational facilities look good, but with the large number of spaces in close proximity, I'm not sure this is a place we'd stay in the high season. We camped at Pine Mountain RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort, Panama City Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older park that has done a very good job of maintenance and upkeep. All interior roads in the older sections are concrete with concrete pads at each site. Sites are close together but with good landscaping providing some separation. The newer section for larger RV's and park models has interlocking pavers for roads and spaces -- very attractive. The newer section RV spaces are pull-in for motorhomes and back-in for fifth wheels on two sides of a man-made lake with fountains that run during the day. These spaces are nicely separated and landscaped with bushes and palm trees.

Every morning teams of gardeners and maintenance personnel keep the whole park spotless. Trash is picked up frequently throughout the day. There are activities offered in the clubhouse for those who want to socialize. The park is very pet-friendly with a large dog run and walking trails around the lake...pickup bags are available in many locations and the residents definitely picked up after their pets. We camped at Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort in a Motorhome.

Buena Vista Coastal RV Resort, Orange Beach, Alabama

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

We spent three nights at Buena Vista RV Coastal RV Resort in space 15, a pull-in space facing the lake. Despite the very cold and windy weather, we found the park to be a great place to stay. The park was not even half-full over New Year's weekend. There is a very good indoor heated pool and fitness center. Our dogs enjoyed the two fenced dog runs (all-grass, no dirt or mud). Everyone we met couldn't have been nicer. They are under construction on a new phase of sites across the lake.

We would definitely return next time we are in Orange Beach. We camped at Buena Vista Coastal RV Resort in a Motorhome.
