Hickory Hollow Campground, Rockwood, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice facility, our second time staying here as we cross western PA. Kinda far off I76, but a nice stopover nonetheless. Friendly staff. They have a whole section for annuals, and a section for overnighters/weekenders. The latter is all pull-thrus. Used the cable as we caught nothing over the air, but there are no trees in this section to block a satellite setup. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Pirateland Family Campground, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Like all RV resorts in Myrtle Beach, this place is "yuuge", hundred and hundreds of sites. We were assigned a site that was a very tight 90 degree back-in, if not for the vacancy of the sites opposite us, it would have been a very difficult place. Thank goodness we visited in April, a rather light month, can't imagine what this place is like in the thick of summer. Site utilities were in good shape. Each site had its own covered shelter with picnic table, though added to the complexity of backing in. But, upon successful setup you are literally seconds away from beautiful Myrtle Beach. Absolutely fantastic, one of the top five beaches along the Atlantic coast for sure. We camped at Pirateland Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent stopover off I95, and you can tell it is a favorite with many other travelers...when we arrived at around 1 pm, many open sites, by 5pm, every site taken. Be sure you call ahead and make a reservation. Convenient pull thrus, good placement of utilities. Even though right off the freeway, no road noise whatsoever. Very nice pool with a water slide. We camped at The RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads in a Fifth Wheel.

Thousand Trails - Pacific City, Cloverdale, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Huge property, long, hilly and windy road just to get to main portion of sites. Beautiful part of the coast, although ZERO cell service, which forced us to leave earlier than we had planned.

Sites have good separation between them, with trees and foliage throughout. Electrical and water worked just fine.

Main lodge had a water break during out stay, and they were forced to close access to the building. Pool was closed due to the winter season.

On the plus side, on a clear night you can see a gajillion stars in the sky. With the park being right along the coast and away from any city lights, perfect for star gazing. We camped at Thousand Trails - Pacific City in a Fifth Wheel.

Mt. Vernon Thousand Trails, Bow, Washington

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is a pretty typical TT resort, except for the fact that it is one of the very few (on the west coast anyway) that have strong WiFi in the lodge. Very wooded, lots of sites, but as always, first come first served. Try and show up on Thursdays before the weekend, or on Sundays after the weekend crowds have dispersed. A handful of full hookup sites, and be sure to check out the electrical stand for good power before completely setting up.

Close to regular shopping in Mt. Vernon, great view of Mt. Baker from the entrance drive. We camped at Mt. Vernon Thousand Trails in a Fifth Wheel.

Blue Anchor RV Park, Osburn, Idaho

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Just passing through on our way to Washington state. Due to the off-season, we had a back-to-back site as a pull-through, so we had plenty of room for the truck and trailer. Very nice park manager who walked us to the site and gave us the rundown of all the hookups. Great 50 amp service, good water pressure, and sewer connection in just the right spot. Great Wi-Fi as well, but there was hardly anyone there so that could very well have been the reason.

About a block or so off the I-90, and with all the trees in the area, we really couldn't hear the freeway. We'd definitely stay here again when the time comes. We camped at Blue Anchor RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sage Hills Golf & RV Resort, Warden, Washington

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Great little RV resort at a great golf course. Played quite a few times, and due to the time of year, the course was empty and in magnificent shape. Unfortunately, they shut down the front nine to plug the course in preparation for winter and failed to let any guests know. Aside from that, we did really enjoy our stay here. Stayed for 7 nights and paid for 6 with a fall season special they had going. Great full hookups, plenty of space and most all the sites are pull-throughs with the exception of the row against the street, which it seems are predominantly used by the course staffers. Clean laundry, didn't check out the showers since we had full hookups.

Not far from the little town of Othello with a single Walmart, but Moses Lake is a bit further away near I-90 and has Albertson's, Safeway, etc.

Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Sage Hills Golf & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Not much to do in this area without driving for 30 min or so. But if you're a golfer, then you'd enjoy this place in the spring or fall. Very hot in the summer.
