Bellefonte / State College KOA, Bellefonte, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Some nice features. The bathrooms are very nice. There is a bathhouse at each end of the campground, the upper one looks new, and the lower one is older but very nice. No issues with hot water, and it was very clean. If think making a same day reservation could be difficult, as the office is open a couple hours in the morning and a couple hours in the evening and do not answer the phone during any other time of day. We have a fairly small trailer, at 20 feet. We had no issues with our site which are set up on almost terraced roads. I did see some larger RVs sticking out into the road though as some sites are not as deep as others. The higher priced sites with fire pits and patios or the pull-though sites have more space, while the back-in sites are more like parking spaces. Some of the tent sites were very nice, grassy and private, and some of the smaller sites in the back of the campground also looked very treed and private. They have a nice looking pool although it had already closed for the season, a small dog park, and volley ball, and play grounds. I would defintely stay again but be very careful about site choice. We camped at Bellefonte / State College KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Seven Mountains Campground, Spring Mills, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The campground has some nice features. The bathrooms were a little old but very clean with pleasant touches and toasty warm with the cold temps outside. I would have rated the campground much higher, but for location. Our site was about 40 feet from a highway and we were in a hybrid trailer. The truck traffic on the highway was nonstop all night and unbearable. At times the camper actually vibrated from the noise. I suspect the noise would be dampened if you were in a hard walled RV, but I would still suggest asking to stay as far from the road as possible. We left after one night. As for other aspects, the sight was wide, almost level so not much correction needed. As for the look of the campground, it looks nice, lots of tree, pine needles etc. We camped at Seven Mountains Campground in a Tent Trailer.
