Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA, Natural Bridge, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Unfortunately we had a break down and our 3 nights became one. They were most cooperative with our situation. We were disappointed that we had a short stay because our site was great for a 45' rig. The tiered sites have a nice fire ring, a picnic table on an elevated platform and satellite or cable TV. We didn't need to unhook. It is convenient to VMI, which was our destination. Maybe next time! Would return when in the area because we didn't get to see any of the sites. We camped at Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Tiered big rig sites supply ample space between sites. Close to VMI. Obviously, close to Natural Bridge.

Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA, Broadway, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here before but forgot that the 3-4 mile road off the interstate to the camp is fairly skinny for a big rig. We didn't have any problems but we were glad that we didn't meet another big rig. It was a fall weekend and sites were limited so we were glad to get it but...for no sewer and no cable TV, $50+ is high. We couldn't get satellite TV because of trees. There aren't many campgrounds if you want to visit JMU so have to compromise. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also will deliver pizza to your site, of which we didn't partake, but it's certainly a nice option after traveling all day. The space between the sites is nice and wide with a picnic table and a rock fired ring. WiFi is pitiful or worse and AT&T cell is minimal. Good electric, soft water with not great pressure. Would stay again out of necessity. We camped at Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nearest campground for big rig close to JMU. On weekends, there are usually some good flea markets and antique shops in New Market. Golf in Harrisonburg.
